Hotel Ocean - מיאמי ביץ'

The wife and I were headed out on a cruise and decided to check out south beach the night before. The hotel was right on the main strip, which was it's one saving grace. The front desk barley spoke English and was rude. The armoires in the room were broken on at least one hinge. Concrete was stacked in the stair so we would have been unable to use it in case of a fire. Mold was growing rampant in the shower. But it didn't have bed bugs thank God.

Nice European design, good location but not for one looking for a quiet location. This is in the heart of South Beach so go planning to party. Overall I would stay again.

The room was pretty nice and the washroom was very large. However, we had to switch rooms because the air conditioner was broken. The first room had a huge tiled shower and was facing the beach. The second room was on the forth floor and was larger, had a huge balcony but the washroom wasn't updated (old tube that needs to be replaced and was dirty). The rooms facing the street also suffer from the noise (live band plays outside the hotel and there's a club two doors down). The forth floor was much quieter.

Lovely little hotel just in centre of it all on South Beach Miami:-) Not Wifi in rooms only in lobby :-(

We stayed in this hotel over the WMC weekend. Our toilet flooded twice, the maintenance guy never showed up, had to complain twice. We managed to get moved into a 1 bedder, ocean view hotel which was great. The staff were very helpful. Only other problem is that when we arrived in the early morning, some guy was drunk and passed out in the hall way outside our room. We had to get security to escort him out.

My room had a great layout and was very clean. The beach is right across the street from the hotel along with a playground for kids. I would have given this hotel a slightly higher rating if it was not for some of the maintenance work being done during my stay. I understand that work needs to be done but at 8am? I think the average 3.5 rating is fair for this hotel.

There was a surprise $12 resort fee added on. But it did include breakfast and free bike use for 2 hours , which we did take advantage .

Staff were indifferent. If you go with the expectation of a hostel then you won't be disappointed, but no services to give it hotel status. Room was good however.

What a pleasant surprise!! The reviews I had read were very mixed so I was a bit nervous about my stay. It was great. LArge oceanfront room with brand new bathroom. The bathroom was very small, but had a huge shower. The service was prompt and very accommodating. Staff couldn't be more pleasant, very unusual in South Beach. Very good restaurant in the courtyard. Only problem is the noise from the excellent band and flamenco dancer that goes on till 11:30 pm nightly. I definitely would stay there again.

If you want to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the ocean...this is NOT the place to stay. Even on Monday night...there was music blaring LOUDLY until at least 1AM in the morning. It is in a good and safter location across from the beach.

We wanted to be on Ocean Drive - right across from the beach - that part was great. The rooms are large and bed was comfortable. What we didn't think about is that to even get to your hotel, you need to pass through the restaurant that harasses you to sit down to eat and drink (Not recommended unless you like too sweet drinks and overpriced food) and the noise from the band can be quite loud. Fortunately, music is over at 11pm, but the fire alarm went off both nights (twice - once at 3AM and again at 7am, then in the middle of the night the next day). Both times, the front desk said this never happens, but must have been someone smoking. We thought being in the back would keep the noise down, but didn't think about the trucks in the alley behind us. Probably, the better rooms are at the front. The manager at least apologized profusely, but the noise will keep us from coming back.

Checked in late. Accommodated me without any questions. Suites are clean and big. Again just a perfect spot. Lets just hope it does NOT become a SoBe hotel.

I've booked through Hotels.com several times for the past few yrs & for the first time, upon my arrival hotel, have I been told my reservation didn’t exist. I didn’t worry because this simply meant I’d have to contact Hotels.com to get it resolved, however, I end up being told that "luckily" there’s a room avail. I booked Junior Suite & it’s what I got, however, my room looked NOTHING like the pics. My suite was outdated, dusty, & dirty. It was bare & the little furnishings it had were old & uncomfortable. The curtains had large stains on them that looked like either blood stains or old redish-brownish mold spots…walls were dirty, too. It looked like a suite that hadn't been used/cleaned in a while & in which last minute guest are placed in as a last resort. The bathroom was VERY moldy & had no hand or face towels. My bed was missing a comforter & when I called front desk to request one, I was brought a lightweight raggedy blanket. The telephones had no ext list, so this task took longer than it should’ve, my tv remotes didn’t work, & there was no channel listing guide. I did have ocean view, but windows are so small that it's not much of a luxury...windows were very moldy too. The hotel's elevators & hallways had a horrible strong smell. To top it off, the suite is a corner one & a new hotel's being built next door, so I was woken up at 5am by its construction. This was definitely my WORST hotel experience in SoBe & will NOT be booking here ever again!

perfect location - loud but that is because it is in the middle of OCEAN DRIVE IN SOUTH BEACH. Nice attentive staff. Huge room.

It was nice

When we first arrived we had a hiccup with the bathroom not being cleaned, however upon my complaint we were switched to a much better room with a ocean view. The staff was great and friendly. The romantic getaway was perfect as we sat on the beach and travel the strip from club to club bar to bar. Perfect location for all who want to have fun.

Tiles falling off the bathroom tub and walls, cracked leather chairs. Good location and nice sized room. Don't want to stay more than one day. Glad i didn't have to.

We LOVED our room!!! Looked like a picture out of a magazine. Nice and spacious. Comfy bedding. Bathroom a bit peculiar, but good enough to get in, get cleaned, and get out to PARTY!!! Will DEF seek to rebook for future group vacation!

Good, overall experience. Corteous service.

Older building. Lobby and hallway areas had terrible moldy smell, but the room was nice

the room is nothing like the pictures. i've seen better motels.

The hotel and staff were great and the location was awesome. I wish the staff would have informed me when I checked in that major construction was going on right outside of my room - jack hammering starting at 8:00 am every morning. Also the WiFi signal strength was so poor I could not access the internet, email or any of my company's assets from my room. The room was large but no where to work, no desk just a dresser but you basically had to stand to work. Again with no functioning WiFi I spent most of my days working at Starbucks 2 blocks away. Not ideal at all.

Harold is a member of the hotel management and he was awesome. He gave us good tips about places, but the hotel itself could be better. The first room that we stay was not very clean, and in the first shower, the shower tap (which was very old) just brake in my hand. First the woman tried to live me without shower, but just after they transfered us to other room, which was ok, and better cleaned than the first one. the breakfast was ok too. The localization is very good,in the center of Miami South Beach.

Rooms were small but comfortable. Hotel staff was nice and allowed us to check in early as we were coming from a different hotel. The down side to this hotel is the noise level in the hallway can be heard in the room. Overall, good clean place to stay if youre on a budget.

The hotel pictures where completely false. The rooms were dirty and not comfortable at all. There was hair in the bathtub from the people there before.We were upgraded to a room that was supposed to be great and it was pretty much the same thing. I stayed in a hotel in Everglades city the day before for half the price and it blew this hotel 100% out of the water. I understand that the location of the hotel would be a higher cost but it shouldnt mean lesser quality . I was completely disappointed and will never stay there again.

Hotel was like nothing in picture, room was not properly cleaned, saw cockroach in shower. Would never stay here again.

it was the direst hotel i have ever stayed at .There were bugs in the lights bars of soap in the shower, the shower didnt work(either hot or cold) ,black mold around the tub, a really bad musty smell.and if all the other local hotels werent booked would of relocted to another.

The only problem with this hotel is the possibillity to park your car.

At first glance, the hotel is very nice. The rooms are very spacious and the interior is nice and complete. There are a few things you should know own before you decide to book this hotel. The most notable thing is that the hotel is situated above an Italian restaurant that has live music scene evenings per week. The performance is from 7 until 11, if you want to get some sleep before 11 you can forget about it. That won't be possible, the volume of the live performance is just too loud. The room is was supposed to have a bath, ours was equipped with only a (moldy) shower. A quick study of the floor plan showed us only one room per floor has a bath. The continental breakfast was kinda disappointing. No fresh ingredients, only bagles with cheese spread or jelly. The breakfast area (situated in the Italian restaurant) smelled of sewage. Eating breakfast there was virtually impossible. Pros: - nice location at the beach - spacious rooms with a nice interior - friendly staff Cons: - loud music in the evening - no bath, mold in the shower - meager breakfast, breakfast area smelled of sewage - flimsy lock on the rooms

This was my worst hotels.com experience by far! The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. There was a HORRIBLE smell, roaches, and after numerous complaints they gave me a can of air freshener and would not move our room. Thank GOD I only booked it for one night.

This is a very nice hotel on Ocean Drive, right across from the beach and in the middle of it all. At the same time it is small, with a very friendly staff and a little withdrawn from the drive, so you are not bothered by the noise when you want to relax. (We had a room at the back). Only minor drawback: WIFI (which is free) did not work in room, only outside or in the lobby. R Highly recommended.

The balcony could use a hose down and furniture, the shower tiles had mold and the sprayer was at an odd angle and sprayed at one setting...very hard! The pictures displayed were a bit misleading but overall the room was livable for the four day stay that I booked it for.

The room was suppose to have an ocean view. The room actually had a view on the wall of the next building. We had asked for a quiet room and was told it was. However, the room was right next to the elevator and was very noisy. There was no light bulb in the bedside. The mattress was very uncomfortable.Trip Advisor has actual photos from customers which are a fair representation of the Hotel Ocean. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

I spent Spring Break at Hotel Ocean and was very pleased. I was a bit wary before arrival since their website wasn't very interactive but I was not disappointed. The location was fantastic right by the ocean. The complementary bikes were a total plus! So much fun riding down the beach. The Italian Restaurant in front of the hotel had good food, priced like anything else along Ocean Drive, and we enjoyed the DJ playing latin/hip hop music every afternoon and the flamenco band/dancer in the evening.

Love this place. Every room is different, a lttle shabby but immaculately clean and welcoming. Nice little Italian restaurant in the courtyard with a great wine selection and knowledgeable staff. Right near the beach too. If you are not too stuffy you will love it too.

We found this hotel to be a lovely renovated place. Loved the quirky setup as only a historic building renovation will produce. The restaurant out front (outside, on the sidewalk) has a wonderful flamenco-type guitar duo with a female dancer. When checking in initially I thought I wasn't in the mood for this music, but we ate here anyway and it ws wonderful - both food and music. We really enjoyed it. The only complaint is that the shower did not have a ledge for soap, which was a small inconvenience. Also, all the staff from check-in desk to cleaners to breakfast staff was friendly, professional and proactive. Great place!

if you want to sleep before 11pm don't stay in the hotel, the music very loud, they stop at 11;00. we stayed 2 nights, the cleaning crew forgot to clean our room, we came from a tour we were out from 9 am cameback 5 pm, our room was not clean.

Great location and excellent helpful staff; I arrived very early and they were kind enough to take care of all my bags (and friends bags) for the day. The services was excellent. The comfort of the room was good, and the cleanliness was good also. The neighborhood and location are excellent. The only aspects to improve on would be the bed comfort as well as the tub cleanliness. I will stay here again though and recommend it to others. Great staff and cool boutique like hotel!!!
