Don Fernando De Taos - טאוס

It's a good hotel. We felt safe, the rooms were clean and the guy at the front desk was super nice, he gave us recommendations on what to eat and what to do on Taos. Also this hotel is walking distance to 5 star burgers (the best burgers!!) I would stay here again.

Very dissapointed! the hotel was misrepresented regarding smoking rooms, the maid was rude the breakfast was really bad and the pool was ice cold. Over all not a good experiounce. I will never book a room there again!

bathroom tub did not drain properly and shower curtain needs a liner. water soaked floor through curtain. otherwise our stay was very nice thank you.

This hotel is disgusting. The room wasn't clean, the sofa was torn, the bathroom was dirty. Just gross.

I booked this trip at the last minute but got such an amazing price. This is a great deal for any family's budget. The rooms are clean well furnished with everything you need close by. They have an indoor pool with free breakfast in the morning.

Good value for the price.

Although the facility is showing its age, it surprised me with a variety of features such as a free breatfast restaurant, an indoor pool, a pool table, campus style of motel buildings, friendly/knowledgeable staff, etc. I will definately stay with them next time if I come back.

People were friendly, breakfast was great! Only wish they had a hot tub.

I was not pleased with our stay. Although our stay was during winter, the sidewalks had not been cleaned and were icy, rooms on second floor were cold, pool was not in working order, no lounge and breakfast was cold.

The pricing for a room here was much better than rooms in hotels in other cities. The room was fairly nice but the free breakfast was most impressive. It was served restaurant style instead of buffet style. It was a nice hotel for our ski trip and I will be staying here again

This hotel was very inexpensive for having such a great location in Taos. Probably the best thing about our stay here was the free breakfast each morning which was served more like restaurant style instead of a self serve breakfast buffet. The rooms were cozy (not the greatest) but I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

While the hotel was in relatively good shape and the customer service was great, the beds and bedding were in need of replacement. The mattresses were very old and felt like sleeping on a sheet over springs and the pillows were just thicker than the pillow cases. We had to get more pillows and double them up in the pillow cases just to have decent pillows. No plastic shower curtain liner was in the shower either. The hotel room was otherwise in good shape and extremely clean. Interesting setup where there are several smaller buildings with about 10 rooms each spread out over the hotel grounds. I think that I would spend a little more to get a more comfortable sleeping arrangement next time.

Worst place I have ever been, the rooms are outdated, the beds are horrible nothing works properly and the service is the worst , i am surprised they have a license to function

My husband and I came to Taos on business (we were performing at the Taos Inn). Unfortunately the Taos Inn could not accomodate us, so we stayed here instead. We thought the room was spacious and comfortable, the free breakfast was pretty good and the breakfast staff was excellent. The night front desk staff when we checked in were quite friendly, but the following day, when our room key was no longer working (which was inconvenient, especially when loading musical equipment), the front desk staff for the day shift was cold and unapologetic for the inconvenience. Overall I would recommend and stay there again.

This hotel is over a mile away from the main plaza in Taos, which is kind of a downfall. The beds were old, sheets were worn to almost shreds, and pillows were pathetic. Staff was very friendly and they give a free hot breakfast.

The beds were very worn. Not a comfortable matress, and the cable was fuzzy. Hot tub was not operational. However, for the price of stay, it was worth it to me. The breakfast service was great, and it was next door to the movie theatre. It was cleaned everyday and restocked. Over all I was satisfied with my stay

My husband and I were more than pleased with our clean and comfy room, fireplace, and quiet environment. The suite was perfect, as I enjoyed my quiet time reading my Bible by the fireplace, and my husband enjoyed sleeping in, and getting up to coffee and the fireplace and his reading as well. Pleasant. The breakfast was free as promised, and we could order anything at all from the menu. Every employee was helpful and friendly. The room and furniture was older, but comfortable... Perfect for a ski resort. The king size bed also was comfortable. We definitely will come back to this hotel.

Door had large gaps around it. Screen in bedroom broken. Staff very nice and helpful. Loved the hot breakfast. Hide a bed comfortable - surprise!

Very well priced. good location. clean rooms but very dated.Breakfast service was excellent,

enjoyed our stay and the service was great.

OK. Breakfast serving/seating system is a little unorthodox. Coffee and Tea service was irregular, why not provide a dispenser like everybody else.

Accommodations was very acceptable during our one night stay. Thank you.

An older hotel, but well kept. Housekeeping could be more thorough - but I would stay here again.

Good enough for the money

I've stayed here before and rented this room because it had a fireplace. The hotel said they "weren't ready for the colder months" - had to search for logs and had no matches, had to borrow a lighter from the security guard (it got down to 36 that night). Also, they are a couple of miles from the town plaza and restaurants/bars/music, but the shuttle van only ran until 8 pm - early for dinner and missing all of the great weekend music - and a longer walk from the new brewery at the top end of town since there's no taxi service in Taos. The bar in the hotel was closed. They kept apologizing that this wasn't their busy season...

First time at your hotel. Overall very pleased. Only issue was I called housekeeping on fri. and said I did not need any services, other that extra coffee, Did not get coffee in the room on Friday nor Saturday.

Worth the money. Has a guest laundry and a free breakfast. They do not have an elevator to the second floor rooms, so if you have trouble maneuvering stairs or have heavy luggage, ask for a first-floor room.

Great staff and excellent breakfast. Main building in great shape and very nicely decorated. The unit we stayed in was well maintained and all appliances worked. Good King Size bed. Stairways to some of 2nd level unit appeared to be in need of maintenance and some were roped off.

This is the third time we have stayed here and the rooms have gone down hill. Furniture was worn, maintance bad.

I enjoyed my stay at your hotel. It was easy to find, very clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful. I enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast during my stay. I will definitely stay there again. I would recommend to all of my friends.

It was a nice hotel

As others have mentioned, this hotel has seen better days. But they could keep it cleaner. The bathroom didn't look like it had been mopped properly in quite a while. While I don't usually think having a Wal-Mart across the street is a huge selling point, it certainly came in handy because we bought some Tilex and killed the mildew in the bathtub. (Not the kind of thing we usually do.) But the beds were fine and the breakfast edible, though not as nice as we'd hoped given the other reviews. On the other hand, there were so few guests they didn't bother with the buffet and just let us pick off the menu.

I'd rather talk than check boxes. 1) The location of the hotel and neighborhood are not within walking distance of anything that brings people to Taos, however, they did run a shuttle back and forth until 8:00 at night, which was very much appreciated. The drivers were very nice and even though I tipped them, they did not act like they expected one. 2) A nice free breakfast was served, not a buffet but actual table service by nice staff. The restaurant and bar have been closed for any other food service. There are however, other food choices close by. 3) Cleanliness was not as favorable: as the sofa was stained, the edges of the carpet had not been vacuumed in some time, The bathroom floor had dirt in the corners, and the big heavy bedspreads that one knows are not cleaned after each guest. There was no mattress pad that covered the entire mattress, just a small pad that did not come to the edges. The first room was so unfavorable, I asked for another room. The room where I stayed, #507, was better, however, I did discover the sink had not been cleaned after the last person because the dried soap was still on the side where the soap bar had been laying. Whomever is in charge of housekeeping at this hotel is not doing their job. The rates were good, however cleanliness should not be compromised. For this reason, I could not recommend this hotel.

old but nice, close to plaza but not within walking distance

Our room was quite lodge and very comfortable. The layout of the propriety is very nice with open space throughout. The glass enclosed pool was especially nice. Breakfast was quite satisfactory with good choices and good quality. The staff we interacted it's thoughout our stay were very nice.
