Holiday Inn Boston Bunker Hill Area - סומרוויל

Had some issues entering my room and front desk/security was a bit unwelcoming (sorry I disrupted his rest), but door device was out of charge

This is where you stay when all other options are unavailable. It's a bit of a haul (about 4-5 blocks) from sullivan T stop, so with luggage that's a consideration. The neighborhood is very working class and without any charm (or real restaurants, etc), so it's a place to sleep ONLY. I found it a bit expensive for what I got, but it was clean and quiet. In retrospect, I would have paid slightly more to be better located. I do not think the value outweighed the location. Other parts of Somerville are much more hip.

This is a Holiday Inn as you would find in many places. It is close to a subway station and bus stop, but the area is not interesting at all. My main complaint was the constant traffic noise which made it difficult to sleep. I could also hear people in the next room.

The room was very clean, spacious and staff was very professional and nice. the breakfast buffet is avergae and over priced plus they include the gratuity for just handing you a check.

My son and I (5yr old) stayed here for 12 days and it was amazing, all staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was fantastic and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good and plenty of it. The nearest T station was a few minutes walk from the hotel and there was also a handy pizza, sub place just around the corner. We also made goos use of the complimentary shuttle bus that we used to get mostly to downtown boston. We got a Boston city pass which was great and I would also recommend the $18 for a 7 day Charlie card for the subway. We visited at a fairly quiet time but towards the end of our stay the hotel became busier and there were a few problems with breakfast, not enough staff, restocking of food on buffet was delayed, delay on cutlery, glasses etc but I believe it was only because of a shortage of staff. I would highly recommend this hotel and would be more than happy to stay again :-)

Had to go to 4 ice machines to find one that worked. No decaf coffee available in the morning, generally too high priced for this kind of service.

Though the immediate neighborhood is lacking in character and services, this hotel is within a 5 minutes walk to Sullivan Square Station (Orange line), making it convenient to access downtown Boston. The hotel is also very clean, provides Bath & Body Works shower amenities, features a 24-hour gym, and offers shuttle service within a 2-mile radius.

Clean, modern, and comfortable room. No complaints there. Not much around the location and a bit of a walk to things in Cambridge, though it's pretty close to Charlestown. Wifi worked very poorly all 5 nights; it was unusable for work. The coffee maker was missing a key piece necessary for making coffee.

The room was nice and cozy...well kept. The service was just ok. The dining area was being renovated as well as the parking lot. I would not recommend room service. It took twice the amount of time that we were quoted. Breakfast was cold, especially the coffee. The room was also noisy; we could hear the TV of the room next door. Other than that, the room fit our needs and the location was pretty good.

The rooms were perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and the kids loved eating at the Nantucket Grill, so convenient! Most of all, the children enjoyed the rec area, pool, rock wall, mini basketball court play area and will probably want to go back to the Somerville Holiday Inn just to do this again! (Also, shuttle service and parking make this more than 5 stars!)

My wife had surgery at Mass. Eye and Ear Imfirmary and I needed a place to stay near the hospital.The rate was 100.00 to 200.00 better than anyone close to the hospital.I ended up being an 8 minute drive away. The room was clean the staff was nice.Overall I would recommend it to anyone who needs to be close to the hospitals and can't spend a small fortune.

Staff was very helpful. Very close to the transit line. Convenient well lit on site parking lot. The neighborhood is somewhat tacky.

It was really godd I enjoyed so much!

The hotel is brand new, super clean.Really nice furnishings in and out of the room. Pool area is also brand new. Friendly staff. The problem is that it seemed to be in an area that is not very nice, meaning that it's not the best part of Boston. This hotel would be perfect if they could pick it up and move it somewhere more desirable. However, Sullivan Sq station is only 3 blocks away with super quick access to the city center, only 2 stops from the North End.

Have stayed in this hotel many times over the years on trips to Boston. It is a short walk to the T subway station which makes transporation around the city easy and affordable. The hotel has been renovated and they did a nice job... room furnishings are contemporary and bed was very confortable.

This was a great pick, especially for my 8 yr old stepson! We actually set an alarm to get a little basketball in before heading out for sightseeing in the city! Great area for kids!!

Their pizza was good, however the rest of their food not so much. The breakfast buffet was awful and not worth the $. Everything else about the hotel was great.

Clean, affordable, nice pool/play area, recently renovated, free wifi, unattractive semi-industrial neighborhood but close to the T, free parking, free breakfast for kids 12 and under (two kids for every adult).

Nice room and staff friendly late check in though and a little construction going on. A little pricey Overall very good stay

The hotel is very clean and the rooms updated and spacious. However, we were on a higher floor and the poor sealing of the windows made the room drafty, not to mention loud, when the wind blew. However my biggest complaint is that most of the staff we encountered were unhelpful or downright rude. (The restaurant servers are an exception.) The front desk employees were completely unsympathetic when I had a problem that was partially their fault. No smile, no apology, no offer to assist. I will not return to this hotel as a result, no matter how nice the rest of it is. Also, be aware that no matter how many people are booked in your room, you only get free breakfast for two of them.

We were supposed to have two queen sized beds, but got two doubles. The fridge beeped like an alarm clock all night long, it was soft enough to make you think it was a clock in an adjoining room, but at 3am after not sleeping a wink we found it was the fridge and unplugged it. The food was not very good, but the breakfast was OK. The recreational facilities wer great and my kids loved it just for that. Also kids can eat for free.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn with my son on New Years Eve, I live in Somerville so we stayed there to do something fun like go swimming.The pool was not open during the day the hours were 6:30 AM -10:00 AM and 4:00 PM - till 9:00. My plan was to eat breakfast, we did it was OK only because I had a free coupon for breakfast other wise it was terrible. Than we were going to swim before checking out. My 11 year old son went to the front desk to see what time the pool was going to open and they told him it was closing in ten minutes. He and I was very disappointed and checked out before the check out time. The manager said we could come back to use the pool at 4:00. I just wish they mention the pool hours before I booked and paid in full for the room.

We had a great time at the hotel they even let us bring our grandkids to swim in the pool.

Worst stay I ever had !!!! I do not recamend this hotel to anyone

Very poor service. I had to ask four times for them to turn the heat on in the exercise room at 11AM on Sunday. Someone finally came over at 11:30 and the problem still wasn't fixed. My internet was out and it couldn't be restored and their business center consisted of one computer in the main lobby which was in constant use. The hotel bar was closed Saturday night for a private party. We checked in around 8pm Saturday night and no one to help with our luggage. I've had good luck with other Holiday Inns but not this one.

The hotel is clearly falling apart. The curtains and furnishings are full of holes and stained. The bathroom and fittings were filthy.
