Ehhh. Overpriced for what you get. Note to owners: time to invest on some makeover moves. Dated. Dated worries me about what I might find in a room. I don't want to feel that way when I am spending my money on a room. Granted, we spent the night, we slept, we left. No "eww" surprises but if I have to wonder.... don't make me wonder. Is it me? Dated makes me uncomfortable because I am left waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The hotel was OK for the money (cheap) but there were a lot of problems. 1) I couldn't get hot water in the bathroom sink until I figured out that the handle had to be pushed to the "cold" side to get hot water. (The staff were completely unhelpful when I asked about this.) 2) There is a bar downstairs with very loud music until 2 a.m. that can be heard in our room. 3) When I asked the hotel to call us a taxi to go to the airport, we got an unmarked car that charged us 50% more than it cost to get from the airport. I think the driver was a friend or relative of the hotel owner. 4) Breakfast is free but worth every penny.

The shower in the room was broken and thus couldn't shower.

Unfortunately, all the clean, decent hotels were booked due to Hurricane Sandy. This old, old former Holiday Inn hasn't been updated in 30 years, and hasn't had housekeeping in at least 5 years. There is no housekeeping! The t.v. never worked. You would not walk around in your socks or bare feet...shoes everywhere except the bathtub. I couldn't wait to go home. Only laying in mud in the cold would have been worse. DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

I was not very pleased. I thought it was over priced for what I received. Elevator out of order. Hall carpet was not clean or vacuumed. Room carpet not vacuumed. Plaster damaged in my room, Had to run water a very long time before getting hot water. The front desk persons were very helpful and professional. They were the positive in my stay. I don't think I would recommend this hotel or stay there again.

Don't even have a small bottle of lotion in the room, which hotel don't have that ?....

The room was clean, but not in the nicest shape. The hotel lobby and public facilities looked like they haven't been maintained for a very long time. Hotel chosen mostly for location. Probably will not stay again.

I enjoyed my stay. I booked via hotels.com and then stayed a second night via booking through the hotel. Both bookings were seamless and easy! There was a wedding reception going on the second night, however, the noise, crowd was very contained and did not disturb operations within the hotel. Would stay here again.

they only reason i stay there is because the state electrical contractors exam is there and starts at 7am. i think the only reason the place is still in business is because they allow pets and the state uses it for the exams. If I could post pictures I would. If I figure out how, I will because I have a bunch of the room.

Hotel was so dirty.When I got it there was no one at front dest had to wait for 15 minutes for some one to help me....

This hotel needs a major facelift. The bed was soft, the TV reception was blurry never mind the ancient TV's themselves. Housekeeping left something to desired with how poorly the showers were cleaned and lack of vacuuming. The continental breakfast was so underwhelming that on my 2nd day I went out for breakfast. I understand why the hotel was dropped from the Holiday Inn chain.

My wife and I only stayed over one night for an early morning hospital visit the following day. We did celebrate my Birthday though, and the restaurant and bar served the purpose well! Location on Rt 28 has access to lots of stores. Hotel could probably do with a little "facelift", but was clean.

The employees were great. The hotel itself need many upgrades. The maintance guy tried his best to fix the TV end up changing rooms.. The TV had limited channels. The room door locks were not secure...

a/c unit did not work very well, room was not cooled properly

I appreciated that they allowed dogs and did not charge extra (I had two), so stayed despite poor reviews. The 2nd floor smelled OK. The first floor (pets allowed) smelled of urine and cigarette smoke. The neighborhood is completely not walkable. No sidewalks, and traffic is tough on that street. The local bar had good beers and had a sush bar with a good cook.

This location is in dire need of a renovation.

Had an employee fly in and stay there for one week. First night, her toilet overflowed and all of her clothes and luggage were ruined. Toilet smelled. View outside of window you can see all the trash on top of the roof, NOT ATTRACTIVE AT ALL. Pet friendly hotel so dog shedding everywhere even during the breakfast. Had to move hotel room since the first room was being fixed. Then second room the blow dryer broke, instead of bringing a new one was let back into old room to use that blow dryer where the room still smelled like MOLD and carpet wet. Maintenance man brought fresh towels to breakfast area saying just snaked your toilet here are fresh towels. Unacceptable! During breakfast that was just inappropriate and embarrassing.

This hotel needs to be shut down and remodeled, it is in bad shape.

I stayed at this hotel at least 5 times over the last 3 years. It used to be a holiday inn but not anymore, I guess they were not fulfilling their standard. In brief: hotel is poorly maintained, falling apart. I saw the police came in twice in 3 days, one time I saw a guy handcuffed escorted by the cops. The breakfast is just awful. Only positive thing is the restaurant / bar adjacent who serves really good food.

Very rough. Would not go back.

This hotel was older and showed a little wear and tear. But it was clean and comfortable. lt wasn't the classiest place but for the price, compared to our other options in the area, it was worth it.

I stayed here for about a week waiting for a rental to start. The staff was always extremely friendly and helpful, but the hotel is badly in need of a renovation. There is evidence of water damage in many places, doors coming apart, doors that barely latch, badly functioning shower heads, etc, etc. It was livable to be sure and the price was lower than surrounding hotels, but there's a reason.

Wnen i got to my room the card lock and door was broken .I finnally got in and the bathroom was clean but sink and shower was a falling apart just like thew door. By the window looks like mold or something. At least the bed was good

Room was falling apart. Non-smoking room with a remote control that cigarettes were put out on. Run the shower for 10 mins and the warmest it gets is extremely cold. Run the sink for 10 mins it barely sort of reaches lukewarm, kinda at best. I'm never stating here again and would def not recommend it to anyone

The bed was comfy. The Tv channels were limited. No one bothered me. The hotel was close to where I needed to be.

Don't let the price fool you! STAY AWAY! This is called a hotel but has the look n feel of a motel. I wouldn't even stay here for a cheap thrill! I checked in and an hour later I was leaving for another hotel nearby.

At first, the customer service was good, but the next day before checkout, I wanted to take a shower and there was no hot water running to my room. The continental breakfast was less than satisfying and my boyfriend and I had to go elsewhere for breakfast. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to NYC - too far from the city, expensive transportation to Newark Penn Station, and non-quality building.

My stay here was a comfy and quiet. There was no complaints except for the false advertisement of TV channels that they say they supposedly have. This is an old Holiday Inn so you could tell the wall paper in the rooms and the lobby of the hotel was never done over. The bed was comfy and there is a restaurant located in the hotel for your convenience. Overrall this hotel needs to improve on appearance.

It was ok for one night.

This is a good location for where we needed to be that weekend, but upon entry this smoke-free property appeared to have just hosted a Virginia Slims smoke-off. Nasty smoke smells everywhere. Ice machines were not functioning on 3rd and 4th floors. There was a dog in the neighboring room (who knew!). And the attempt at breakfast was failed since the eggs and potatos in the "buffet" were cold because someone tried to use one sterno to heat both pans. Pleasant-enough staff, but this tired facility needs a serious facelift to compete with the chains. Sorry.

We had never been to New Jersey or New York, so when we decided to take a last minute trip we were shocked to find out that the hotels charge up to $100.00 non-refundable pet fee. I thought there was some kind of miscommunication at first. Luckily I found that this hotel charges a flat rate for rooms including pets. It was a huge relief. The hotel was nice and the downstairs bar seemed ok. I'd say it's definitely worth the price.

This hotel is the only game in town and they act like it. The other lodging is either far away or very low budget. The room was small, and loud due to the road. The staff were either rude and disrespectful, of so stressed from dealing with terrible management. DO NOT STAY HERE if you can avoid it, for what they charge a night you are better off driving further and staying someplace else.

My room had a noisy AC system, wich was missing some buttons. Some of the controls were just rusty pieces of metal, rough to the touch. The bathroom was poorly presented, it needs a serious upgrade, and the tub showed signs of having been fixed and sealed at the joints by a non professional unexperienced worker. Window: the view was nonexistent, it was obstructed by a fence and some bulky equipment. The room door looked old and in need of painting. I will not reccommend this hotel.

This hotel had exceptionally nice staff but it is delapidated, stinky from cigarette smoke, with cracks all over, broken fixtures and a dirty, skanky pool. The breakfasts were great and the staff really nice.

Even though they say this hotel is close to airport it took me over 50 minutes to get there, due to the many signs that you need to follow prior to get there and while driving there; if you take the wrong street you may have to drive 2 or 3 miles to get out or do a u turn to get back to the right street. Take a hotel by the airport and do not be foolish due to the price.

Clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet for being right on Route 22. Continental breakfast assisted by helpful staff. Only negative was the stench of cigarette smoke, presumably from attached bar/pub, in the hotel's lobby.

It was not stated to me that a fax confirmation on paper had to be received before the hotel could process the room to you. Even if you had a confirmation number with an email confirming the room was booked and charged to your room- the hotel had to receive a paper confirmation via fax. There was a whole line of persons who stood in line with the same problem. After 2 plus hours of getting the room the heater in the room did not work and the janitor or maintenance person could not fix it. The hotel stated there was nothing they could do about. So my family and i slept in our coats clothes, with blankets to keep us warm. WORSE NIGH EVER IN A HOTEL NOT. Not even an incentive given for the cold room and long wait. However, for the desperate situation we were in -it served its purpose and that was being out of the storm.
