Casa Munras Hotel & Spa - מונטריי

Lovely size room, no issues with soundproofing. Check in was great (especially Mary whose restaurant recommendation was great and general helpfulness was fab), good value for money. Didn't use the pool as it was a chilly, windy day but it looked lovely.

Friendly staff. Great location. Near most everything. Could use some improvement, but overall a good place to spend the weekend.

It was within easy walking distance of most attractions and in a quiet area. Beware late sleepers that the hotel breakfast stops at 10 am, but there is a Denny's across the road.

Room was great - clean, spacious enough for 2 kids to be kids without being underfoot, easily accessed from parking and quiet. The pool was warm, the location convenient. The are a gorgeous variety of roses on site that were all in bloom during our stay. My only complaint were that there wasn't good signage at the entrance. The main drive has a sign saying "Esteban", not Casa Munras. We drove around the complex before finding reception.

We had a great stay at Casa Munras. The staff was professional and friendly and made our stay a comfortable one. We re-booked twice. It was hard to leave.

This was our second time staying here. Needless to say, we were back because the place is clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. We are pretty picky about places to stay. We enjoy staying here for the reasons stated. We do have to say that we prefer staying in the main building, because of the modern decor of the rooms and the huge bathrooms with the big, soaking tubs and large showers.. The exterior buildings have rooms that have more of a cottage decor, but they are clean and comfortable. It is within walking distance of Bistro Montrio, a wonderful restaurant, Oh, and there is a nice spa on the property.

Casa Munras is a large property and hard to miss driving through town. The front desk staff were very polite and informative. The room was very cute and clean. We had a king bed and fireplace on the second floor with lounge chair and table on a private side of the floor outside. Widows opened to overlook the heated pool area. The property was clean and had staff everywhere in case any questions came up. The water pressure in the shower is weak, so don't put too much shampoo in your hair :) overall our stay was wonderful! I would definitely visit again!

The location of this hotel can't be beat. Walking distance to good restaurants, waterfront, etc. best part is the community fire pit. Rooms are pretty average. No fans or air conditioning. Super comfy beds though, wifi, etc. Kinda smaller beds in the doubles if you are sharing. Nice gardens and overall stay.

Stayed at Casa Munras for a race in the area. Was delighted with the front desk customer service. I was also impressed by their fitness room. Their fitness room was clean, cardio machines had personal tvs, dumbbell set, cable exercise machine, water tank, gym towels, yoga mats and apples. Stayed in a cozy queen and it was cozy. Would definitely book again and try an upgraded room. Parking can be tight so you'll have trouble parking your big trucks and plan to arrive early so you dont have to hunt for a parking spot. Meals are delicious from Esteban and other local eats are within reasonable walking distance.

This was a nice place to stay, the staff were very helpful, and I would stay here again. The bathrooms and carpet seemed out-dated though, especially for the price that we were paying. I thought it would be a lot nicer aesthetically - it's hard to tell from the pictures on the website.

This was the most disappointing hotel we've stayed in. The room was unclean - the carpets grubby and bathroom floor tiles dirty. The whole room was in real need of a renovation. Very disappointed - I would have been embarrassed to let out a room in this condition. When we complained, we were offered an identical room, in the same poor condition. Sadly, we couldn't wait to leave.

Wonderful hotel....the spa however is run by a different entity and was not available to us. But had we a great little "bungalow" just by the pool. It was the BEST!

Most pleasant; courteous and professional staff; good quality breakfast in restaurant.

I really enjoyed staying there. The grounds and staff are great. The room had a mustly smell, there were some dark hairs in the bed and the bathroom floor had some foot prints on it tho, so it took away from the comfort level. We'd come back tho.

This hotel was very convenient and nice. It is very quaint. The hotel is on the older end, but it was a nice stop on the way to San Francisco. Their service was great! The gentlement gave us a complimentary upgraded room and was very informative on all the things we could do while we were there. It was walking distance to the fisherman's wharf and I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel lobby, restaurant and spa are really great. Rooms could use some updating, but they were clean and comfortable. I would stay there again based on great customer service, convenient location and the spa was nice. Had a great massage!

I recently stayed at Casa Munras during a over night trip to Monterey. I was in room 28 on April 7, 2013. My check in was late otherwise theres a possibility some of this could have been addressed but still was rather frustrating. First it was noted my TV would not power up. Both manual and remote attempts were made. Since as I said it was late I decided it just wasn't worth the trouble. There was considerable howling of wind through the hotel which made sleeping a challenge and was further complicated by the toilet coming on filling approximately every hour or two. Then in the morning was pleased to find that despite the poor water pressure i was standing in two inches of water within a couple minutes. In my frustration i mentioned it to the staff at the desk as I checked out so hopefully someone else won't have to deal with the same issues. By external appearances I would have expected more. Just shows you can't judge a book by its cover.

Good time.

Comfortable, quiet and excellent customer service! So nice in fact that we decided to stay an extra day!

A very nice motel style place to stay.An easy 5 min walk to the main street and another gentle 5 to the10 min walk to the pier. friendly staff.

Water pressures is the worst I have every experienced in a hotel or spa. Walls are paper thin as other reviews have stated. Newly renovated and very pleasing to the eye but the little things that make comfortable are missing. Rooms are also VERY small!

The Hotel was not the nicest I have ever stayed in. The staff at the check out didn't even ask if I enjoyed my stay. I got to sleep until 8am. This is due to Idiot Adults that bring their kids to Monterey and there is nothing for them to do, so why not go to the Pool at 8am & wake everyone up! So it might not be the Hotel, that should be enforcing Pool times, But the Stupid people that are staying there. The room also, had NO Fan or Air Conditioning. I would NOT stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay and thought it was a comfortable hotel. My young son and I travelled alone and we felt very safe. Clean, quiet room upstairs. It was close enough to aquarium we were able to walk (2 miles?). Good food in the restaurant and close to other good restaurants in the area. Great in-room coffee! The flatscreen TV was nice and the DVD player was perfect for my son! I will stay there again!

Great experience. A beautiful room, and perhaps the most helpful staff that I have ever experienced! Very friendly and professional.

We loved all about this hotel, especially the location, which afforded us to walk everywhere and not use our car at all. Left it in the parking lot and enjoyed ourselves. Beautiful grounds, gardens, style, everything.

When I was booking, the photos of the rooms really sold me on the hotel property because it looked so sleek and modern, but upon arrival into the room, it was just so-so. You could tell that the place had been re-modeled from an older motel/hotel that still had that "old" room smell when you walked in. It wasn't that this place was a bad place to stay, but it was less than I expected from the reviews I read. Also, I should note that the walls are fairly thin and you can hear what your neighbors are watching on TV.

Upon arrival, the front desk staff made us feel very welcome. The hotel lobby is very nice and they had a yummy fresh fruit juice out for the guests. They helped us with directions on every place we were wanting to go as well as pointed us to a book in the lobby which had lots of menus from area restaurants. The room itself was smallish but I had anticipated that. The bed was VERY comfortable. My only 2 complaints are that the fireplace in our room made a whistling sound for quite awhile after it was turned off and our 7:00 am wake up call actually came at 6:00 and we REALLY could have used the extra hour sleep. All in all, I would stay here again. Their staff is really top notch.

Stayed at the hotel on a trip down highway 1, it's not the Hilton but the front desk was very service minded and the location close to the town center and water front is great. Compared to the price it is recommendable

everything was fine, property is upscale, clean and well appointed, loved the gas fireplace in the room, the downtown location was very convenient...only had one issue and it was not about the hotel per se. i asked for a recommendation for a good, casual seafood restuarant that served good crab at the front desk. the employee was very nice and accomodative. the only problem was the restuarant she recommended on fisherman's wharf was not very good and the dungness crab was simply awful.
