Midtown Hotel - ניו אורלינס

Never again. We could not even take the show as the tab sewage is clogged for good and water stays in the bath tab. Door chain is missing, not all lights are not, someone was slamming the door early in the morning for 30-40 minutes non stop so that it was heard all over the hotel and was impossible to sleep. Towels are very old and dirty.

It was aweful and I wouldnt recommend the hotel to anyone. When we walked in there was a party going on. It was hard to sleep b/c of all the noise. We washed the sgeets and bleached the bathroom

The worst experience I have every had a any Hotel or Motel. Absolutely a place I wouldn't even let a dog stay in.

This hotel should have not been reopened until it was restored from "Hurricane Katrina" and other storms. It showed a lot of damaged and wasn't ready to be in service. It wasn't worth the $208.00. There was no phone in either room. I had requested a roll a away bed that the hotel didn't have and was put in a room that only had one bed for 2 adults and 1 child but the hotel staff was nice enough to move us to another room that smelt horrible like it had mold and smoke damage. The bathtub was being worked on when we moved to it and was told it was fixed when the work left but infact it wasn't because the tub was still stopped up when all took a shower. We killed bugs and sleeped with guns at our reach due to door not locking and feeling unsafe in a bad neighborhood. Because we lived out of state, we had no clue. I will not ever stay there again nor recommend it to anyone else. We stayed in Convienton, La the night before in a Confornt Inn & Suites for a lot cheaper and it was a lot nicer and we felt safe there. We mentioned that the bathtub was t fixes at check out and all the hotel stay said, " I am sorry " and didn't offer any compasation at all! But the hotel staff is friendly and all of them smiles.

It was good value for the money.

Reading the reviews I was expecting a really bad room. The pluses - the room was clean, got towels and shampoo, the TV worked, the staff was very eager to help, close to the freeway. The minuses - I was given a room that had not been made up, there was a woman sittling outside the room smoking who told me she usually slept in that room and that it was not ready. On to room number 2, great room but it smelled of smoke. I had requested a non-smoking room. I decided to take it. The remote did not work. It was replaced with another remote that did not work. There was a table to do work but no chair. There was a place to hang clothes but no hangers. No phone, No in-room intgernet, have to go to lobby. 5 miles from the French Quarter. Neighborhood a little industrial. Not my first choice, but in a pinch, will do.

Good proximity to Bourbon st. Room ran out of hot water had to wait for an hour for it to reset. Had a broken ice machine. No phones in the room seems like a hotel from 1920s

VERY bad area. Lots of people just hanging around street corners. Shady activity. Homeless walking about. Saw a fight outside the room window. Police activity a couple blocks down the road. Parking lot not lit. Had to move the car on to the street because it felt like I could be mugged in that back parking lot. Water dripping from ceiling in room. Water spot by bathroom area. The carpet was arouded away there and the underlying wood felt "spongy". Two room lights did not work. Remote either. No bath soap/shampoo. Felt so unsafe almost gave up on the room fee and booked at another hotel. Even had to put a chair up against the door for a small feeling of security. Also, chain lock on door was ripped off. If you value your safety, look elsewhere.

The hotel is in the process of being remodel, which is great. The hotel didn't have interenet like it said, that was a minus. Over all it was great & yes, I'll stay again.

It's definitely not a top of the line, 5 star hotel, but our room was relatively clean besides a few stains on the carpet, and the sheets and towels were clean. We didn't see any roaches or rats during our stay and there was a safe in the closet for us to keep our valuables in. The staff was friendly during check-in and check-out. The only thing that concerned me was the surrounding neighborhood. They do have a parking lot to park your car in and they have surveillance tapes, but I was worried it would get broken into. Overall, if your looking for a cheap place to stay where you can shower and sleep I would recommend it. I had no problems.

Older historic hotel still showing damage from Katrina. Housekeeping does a poor job vacuuming and cleaning up. Beds are ok but some rooms have a bad roach problem. It's mud city so there was a lot of shooting right outside and much police activity. However if you are on a tight budget and just need a roof it's fine. Wall to charming area pubs. Good RTA access. Repairs are underway. It's getting better.

there were 3 front desk employess 2 were useless one was awesome.

the hotel was very ran down, was to far away from everything we wanted to do. No Comforters on beds , Turned on the heat and water dripped everywhere

Ok, If you are looking something perfectly clean and comfy, this hotel is not for you. But it's not a garage neither, I chose this one because of the special price and the very good location (close to the stop for the jefferson transit to the airport), and it really help me. I slept well, didn't feel unsafe. So, for vacations, maybe not the best place, for an overnight before destination, it's enought !

The hotel staff were very friendly in trying to make the guests cope with what is essentially a dump. Their helpfulness could not compensate for lack of towels, cups, and a generally run down hotel. The neighbourhood is positively dangerous: take a taxi, do not walk. Would not recommend, despite the friendly staff.

A rat ate the leftovers from my daughter's dinner from the trash can. There were no towels or TP in the room. Not returning.

What did I think??? I think this was and has been the worst experience I have ever had with any hotel that I have stayed in. I had requested the first night I stayed for towel since the room had not come with towels. It took three nights to finally receive them, I had by luck packed a towel in my bag. For the entire time there I only had my room cleaned once. The room was dirty prior to my arrival and you could tell it had not been kept up. The staff was very rude and wouldn't say hello in passing. This hotel experience failed miserably and I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!

If your looking for someplace close to the French Quarter and cheap, this is the place for you. Just don't expect much more.

We couldnt even stay in this hotel. Had to pay for another hotel to move. My manger said he wouldnt let his dog stay in this hotel, thats how bad it was

I have stayed at worse hotels, but not much worse. My stay was after Isaac and it what was what was available. The hotel is under new management and they are working to update and repair the hotel, hopefully they speed it up. The staff was great and working under extreme conditions. Great New Orleans building feel, hopefully they complete the renovation.

I never go back, they book the room that i was staying in, to 4 different people it was really annoying try to sleep and people knocking on your door thinking the room was empty

Place is filthy and the neighborhood is unsafe for families. The other hotel guests were scary for the most part..the others were other victims of not having another alternative for shelter. The AC didn't work..the carpet was sticky and stained all over. It looked like a highway motel at best. Yuk!

The only good thing about this hotel was the price. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly but the room was terrible. We only had one light that worked, none of the outlets worked, the tables were dirty, the light in the bathroom didn't work, the shower didn't look clean, and the surrounding neighborhood was very scary. When we got back from walking around the city at about 11 pm there was some kind of party going on in a room off the lobby; the music was so loud we could hear it in our room on the 4th floor. The hotel worked for us because we just needed a place to sleep for one night, and other than to sleep we weren't in the room at all.

The front desk folks are very friendly but aside from that, nothing else should give you the reason to stay here. The top of the dresser was sticky, probably from spilled beer or sodas from mardi Gras 5 years ago.I found some hair on my pillow. A bug flew out of my bed when I got in it. I had hives by 2am after I went to bed that night. The shower had the washcloth still hung on the curtain rack from last customer. Carpet had red stain, maybe from kool aid or blood? Like I said the only thing great about this place were the Customer service which were great. I asked for a non smoking room and I got room 233. I think everyone else was smoking in their room or nearby. You get what you pay for basically. Bring your own sheets and disinfect everything you will need to touch. You have been warned!!!!

We went down to New Orleans for Jazz Fest and tried to save a buck over the weekend. Even after reading the reviews we thought that this was going to be an OK option. Personally I thought this place was worth every penny that we spent just for the laughs that it provided. New Orleans has lots of freeway overpasses with nice shanty towns. Instead of staying at the midtown a much better option is taking a tent, sleeping bag and air mattress and joining the fun. There's even volunteers that come and bring free BBQ. The staff at the Midtown was GREAT! Unfortunately there's just nothing they can do about the quality of this place. We only saw one roach and there was an in room coffee maker, but you would have had to bring your own filter and coffee. Bottom line, if you don't want to spend more money to find a better place, stay home or sleep on the street.

This hotel was freaking horrible! I slept straight up the chair against the wall because that was the cleanest place to lay my head!!! This hotel should be demmed "unStayable"!!

You get what you paid for! Hotel is really in bad shape, rooms are big but poorly decorated and towels and bed are in bad condition. The only good thing is that you have free parking and to go to french quarters takes you 5 minutes and a 10 dollar taxi.

The location is not very convenient, there is no restaurant near by. The room is just ok.

This is a well used hotel, over-used actually. We checked in the day after the Final Four and things were slow to be readied for the next guests. Our first third floor room facing the inner courtyard overlooking the pool, the one we selected, was not made up yet and it was 6PM. Back to the front desk, they seemed surprised and somewhat annoyed the room was not ready, to be given a different room. This time on the top floor, no king bed just two doubles. Room was large but mostly unfurnished, window rattled noisily in the wind, the towels are very small but clean and the bed linens were also clean. That is more than I can say about the carpet though as it was extremely dirty, so much so that I would not walk on it in bare feet! There was a huge storm that night with almost continuous lightening and thunder accompanied by heavy downpours; being on the top floor it was particularly disturbing as the ill-fitting venetian blinds did little to dull the brilliant flashes of lightening, the booming thunder also shook the whole floor while the driving rain lashed against the rattly window making it even more noisy. Sleep was a rare commodity that night but it was more the storm than the room. They seem to be trying to upgrade this aging hotel a room at a time but it seems to be a party hotel with cheap rates so even the 'upgraded' rooms are becoming very well used. Perhaps closing a whole floor and revamping everything at once would help. When we arrived, before the storm was even a thought, there was a group of teens using the pool and they seemed to be having a great time. I cannot speak to the possible thinness of the walls as we did not have any nearby neighbors. All in all, you get what you pay for - we didn't pay much and we didn't get much.

This place is horrible!!!!! In our room the AC didn't work, the hot water in the shower was broke, there was no smoke detector, the light was out in the bathroom, and the floor looked liked it wasn't vacuumed in at least 6 months. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

This is absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed. I should have heeded the other reviewers advice, but we were there for the Final 4 and by the time we realized how bad it was we had very few options. Know that we are male, college coaches in our late 20's or 30's so we're not prude or soft by any stretch of the imagination. These were the problems with our stay: 1. Bed bugs in our room 2. Toilet stopped working 3. Shower was grimey and dirty and you didnt feel clean after you used it. 4. Towels we're dirty and rarely replaced. 5. Room was damp and dirty. I walked around our room in our bare feet and they were black when I went to shower. 6. It's located in a terrible and unsafe area. 7. None of the outlets worked in our room. 8. Our neighbors room had no phone. I could keep going, but just know that we felt like we were escaping prison when the Cabbie took us to the airport.

I'm not particularly diva-ish, and I was just looking for a last minute deal for Spring Break in NOLA. I was a little apprehensive about Midtown Hotel after reading the online reviews, but the stay wasn't that bad. I had a clean place to sleep and shower, and I spend most of my days in the Quarter, so it all worked out well.

This hotel is in a very sketchy area, next to a nightclub. There were things from past guests left in the room and the windows didn't lock. The overall look of the room/hotel in general was dirty. I left this hotel immediately after checking in.
