I like the hostel

Very clean hostel with great, friendly staff who organize events from bbqs to yoga on the beach everyday. Very safe , lockers are big enough to take entire hiking rucksacks, and right on the beach ! Bars / restaurants and shops are about 10blocks away so either a short taxi ride or an easy walk.

was great to stay! Staffs are really nice and kind. A convenient location. Even a bit noizy at night, i recommend this hostel.

I live in Miami, but like to rent rooms on the beach when I'm in need of a 'staycation.' The Freehand is my new favorite. It has a great vibe. It's near the beach. It's a short walk away from bars and clubs. It has a well known bar, The Broken Shaker, in the back with lots of tables and cute foliage. If you're looking for a good price, ambiance, and cleanliness then this is your spot. I'm telling you, you won't find this quality for this price elsewhere on Miami Beach.

I absolutely fell in live with this place. It's super cute and hip. Love the patio and the rooms. Liked the fact that they had ping pong tables out on the patio along with many boardgames. All the staff was friendly. Loved the layout of the room. The night life environment of this place is fun. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again!!!!

The hostel was surprisingly very nice and even luxury with very nice pool and bar. At night turns to be great party there. Everything is enough clean. It is more oriented for the young people and fun. At night could be noisy because of the bar. It is on nice location, just next to the beach with supermarket close and the bus stop to airport and to the downtown. All important parts of the Miami Beach are on walking distance from there. I recommend it very much! It is a perfect combination of the price and the offer. Definitely, I will stay there again!

Awesome young and hip atmosphere! Great for young groups looking to get away! Free breakfast and WIFI! Beach is a block away! AWESOME PRICE!

It was a great place, I never would have met all the cool people I did if I hadn't stayed here. The beds were nice, the people were friendly, and everything went really smoothly.

I stayed there a week during the ultra music week. I had really very good time at the hotel and the hotel facility and really very friendly Staf and clean hotel. I had a great time and I will be back next year agian!

The hostel is very nice, lots of character. Breakfast is pretty good. The only downside is the price, almost $100 for a bed in a dorm is way too much.

I couldn't get no sleep, because there was too much noise!!!

When I first booked my room I had no idea that I would be sharing a room with three other people. They should definitely explain that in the description of the place. Besides that though I thought it was nice. I really liked the location and the price. The only thing I would say to chage is for them to remodel the bathrooms. They could really use some work.

I am very pleased. The hostel is located at walking distance from the bus stop. The service is very good, @ front desk you get answer to any question about surrounding, clean, familiar enviroment, and include a healthy breakfast.

I had stayed in another hostel, further south, in miami beach, and heard about freehand from a guest there and decided to check it out my last day and a half there. first off, the staff were quite rude and disrespectful toward me as I was checking in, and much of the time I stayed. I stayed in an eight bed mixed dorm room with two full bathrooms, both poorly cleaned, and one having a very stopped up shower. the area of the beach is nice, but there isn't much else close by. you have to go far for groceries, laundry, nightlife, etc.. and to make matters worse the staff aren't very helpful when you need help finding something. stay somewhere else.

Overall the place was nice, the guests were all very cool, the breakfast was good. I stayed 3 nights as I was in town for work and not partying I did have a few issues: The reception didn't inform me that the patio below my window was rented out for a party - would have been fine but they didn't stop music and yelling until 4:30am and I had to work the next day. The reception wasn't to sensitive to the matter - "there's nothing we can do about it" was the response. I had been in a 4 female share for 2 nights, when I changed rooms for the last night (do to full bookings) to the street side ( quieter away from the bar) by the time I got in it was too late when I realized they put me in a 4 share male - surprise.

Excellent place to stay for a weekend trip. Relaxed, fun atmosphere. Convenient location, near bus stops and close to South beach but not all up in the crazy mix, quiet neighborhood. Clean rooms, comfortable mattress, great accommodations (towels, regular cleaning, bikes for rent, continental breakfast, bag storage). Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent value. Better than the value hotels I was considering. My only concern is this place will blow up in popularity and I won't be able to book there in the future.

I loved my stay! There were a lot of fellow young people. So it was social. They had the opportunity to go to the pool, play bocci ball and play ping pong. I made international friends while there!

Just what I expected. A very eclectic group of people stay at Hostels, and I was not disappointed. I could have stayed in another hotel and had a room all to myself, but I would not have met people form all over the world. This is one hotel stay I will remember.

This place was awesome. Very friendly staff, about a 15 minute walk down the beach to Southbeach and the best bar I found around is the one right downstaris from your room. It is a Hostel so expect to share a room with strangers unless you bring a group of 5 or more. Nice pool area as well. If you would rather spend that 200 bucks a day on having fun and not on a big room that you will spend 6hours in a night... Freehand is the place for you!

The Freehand Miami Hostel is a fantastic place to stay. In the immediate vicinity, you're close to a convenience store, a few tasty restaurants, and most of all the beach. The beds are surprisingly comfortable and they have room cleaning service whom will clean up, sweep and restock your toiletries. The staff at the front desk are great and always helpful when you have any issues or questions. The hotel offers a pool, ping pong tables, plenty of lounging room and a Bar. In addition, they offer coffee,OJ and delicious muffins in the morning, as well food services on certain days. The hotel is conveniently located within a few minutes walk to the beach, but may require a taxi if you're planning to frequent the Night clubs or any major outlet mall. All in all, It's a great place to stay, air conditioned and you get to meet plenty of people from different places.

The place is a wonderful art deco style that is fun. The only problem I have is that the bathroom was so small. They do have lockers, but you had to either buy a lock or bring your lock. Bring flip flops for the bathroom also.

This hostel is perfect if you are traveling on a budget and want to stay close to South Beach.

The place is brand new and for USD 13/night you are in south beach 2 blocks from the beach, 10 minutes from the W hotel/Setai etc. Fast wifi, a really well executed pool/lounge area with a very bar, fast wifi, free breakfast, bike rentals, free beach towels. This really is a steal! Have not seen the private rooms but no reason to believe they are of a lesser quality. They will get bussy! ps. Bus 150 gets you from the airport to the hotel for USD 2.50.

The hotel (hostal) is not cater to families. We did not know that until we got there. It was full of young european crowds coming to America back packing. Nothing wrong with that, it was kind of cool for a young and "cool" parents like us, lol. But if you dislike a crowded little lobby, you won't like it. It is like a trendy place at night and the pool area was crowded with party animals until 3:00 am. My family was so tired that we slep throug the noise. But honestly it was a little anoying. The music & party sounded like it was inside our room. The room is a quadruple room, meaning 2 bunkbeds. My kids loved it!! But for me and my wife was a little awkward. Anyways, for the price and one night rest it was great. Close to everything, and very clean. My wife is sick & phsyco with cleaningless, and this place passed the proof.

The Freehand is a relatively new hostel with a gorgeous outdoor pool, a courtyard restaurant and bar, and very reasonable rates for 4-bunk and 8-bunk rooms. I was there the week before Christmas and only had one other person in my room the entire time. Each room has a bathroom with shower in it and lockers (bring your own lock or buy one at the desk). It's a bit of a walk (3/4-1 mile) to the south beach stuff but I didn't mind it and if you stay in hostels you probably wont either (it's a safe walk even at night).

Loved the experience, first time in a Hostel, rooms were cleaned, bedding was new, sheets were white and crisp, bathroom was clean and had toiletries provided by Hostel. Don't forget your washcloths as I only found that I was provided a bath towel. Lockers provided in the room plenty of space to hold valuables but not a suitcase, don't forget your lock. Each room as a card key and is only provided to those that are staying in the room. Breakfast was a little scare, so if your hungry get downstairs early as breakfast is 8-10 and it was gone when I arrived. The Hostel is very loud at night, it is very difficult to sleep with the windows open you hear the people outside, inside the Hostel sounds like a party going on all the time, so bring earplugs or join the party. In the rear of the property is a private pool, ping pong tables, seating area surrounded by trees and tropical plantings as well as a bar. Very comfortable and perfect for lounging. The inside lobby area provides a Bohemia themed room with candles burning and pillows everywhere with furnishings from cost plus, pier one import look. Overall will definitely return and had a great stay.

I enjoyed my stay here. I had excellent "roommates" and was satisfied for a hostel stay with only one exception. I had a lot of trouble accessing the internet. I was told it was because too many people were using the connection. Just something to be aware of if you plan on bringing a laptop. Otherwise, everything positive that is mentioned in other reviews holds true for me and my stay.

Overall great experience. Some withdraws about the bed assignments (Had a few mix ups and had to go back to the reservation desk twice) Courteous staff (for those who spoke English). Very helpful in finding restaurants. Very family friendly. Breakfast was continental and limiting. No

This place was good, what I hated about it is that they need more organization. When I arrived, my bed was occupied by someone else and they had me waiting like 1 hour to find me a bed!

Clean room. Comfortable bed. A block from the beach. 1 mile from Convention Center. Old windows- one would not close all the way. And it was noisy outside at night due to room facing outdoor bar. Although it did not majorly interfere with sleep because it was a fairly steady drone. Sink faucet leaked a steady stream- needs new washer. Had to call for maintanence for light bulbs and to tighten scews on bedside lamps. Space for four tall lockers in quad room, but four small stacked lockers instead. Four tall would much improve closet space.

I enjoyed staying here very much . The staff were big help , Room service cleaned well. They provide breakfast every morning FREE, have a beautiful patio , pool area. There is also a pleasant culture mixture. I would 100% recommend this experience . I met some amazing people for sure.

It's a great looking place for an excellent price. Very laid back with a pool, drinks, and food available. The rooms are clean and comfortable. That said, I had some problems with the front desk not being aware that I had changed my reservation through hotels.com. They weren't expecting me when I showed up. It turned out to be ok, but was a rocky start.

The Hostel was wonderful, would stay there again, and again. Was a couple blocks from the beach, walking distance to the stores and restaurants, and night clubs. I had no car, can't speak on the parking situations. I took public transportation every day, never sat in a cab, and walked a lot, all hours of the day and night. Employee's of the Freehand were marvelous!!! very helpful and patient, lot of ??? get asked all day by Americans and Foreigners. Clean rooms and comfortable beds.
