La Quinta Inn Reno - רינו

This is the second year that I have come to Reno to attend a convention at the Grand Sierra. Rather than stay at the Grand Sierra, I looked for less expensive options. Last year I stayed at the La Quinta and gave it a favorable review. This year's stay wasn't quite as nice. The difference? Last year my room was on the south side of the complex. This year my room was on the north side of the complex, facing the mail facility. I didn't hear trucks coming and going, but noise from the nearby freeway could be heard clearly in my room. Otherwise, my impressions were the same. If all you need is a place to sleep and shower, this is a good, inexpensive option. Having a refrigerator and microwave in my room this year helped keep the cost of meals down as well. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff did their jobs well. As for the one-way street problem that some have complained about, just don't exit the parking lot on the south side where you are forced to turn right, away from the freeway. Take one of the other exits, where the one-way street funnels you right into the freeway on ramp. I'll be back in Reno next year, and I will look into staying at another hotel, but for cost and convenience (if you can deal with the freeway noise) the La Quinta is hard to beat.

Room had strong smell of deodorizer. Rates were about the same as a much better hotel I had stayed in the rest of the week (only stayed here because of airport proximity). Breakfast was very crowded and awkward.

Originally we were given Room 247... when we opened the door at 7:30 p.m., it had not been cleaned... beds were unmade, the room was a mess with empty water bottles all over. I called the front desk and was immediately given a new room, 245, which had been cleaned. We especially loved the beds and the pillows! We would like to know the brands of both the bed and pillows, as they were the most comfortable we had ever slept on!

The outside needs some desperate updating, and it's in a little shady part of town. However, the rooms are big, nice, and clean. The staff are great. We were there for a volleyball tournament so it was nice and close to the airport as well as the convention center. Very easy access too. And the free breakfast was pretty good as well. It would be nice if they had a place to print boarding passes.

First, this is actually a motel. Older, but remodeled. Clean and comfortable and the staff is quite friendly. The rooms where I stayed on the west side of the motel were subject to traffic sounds at night which was a bit annoying. The breakfast is convenient, but just adequate and the dining area is tiny and should be cleaner. The worst part is the one-way street debacle in front of the motel. Absolutely ridiculous. Beware or this. Stayed here to avoid the smoked-filled casino hotels. This reason alone was worth it.

I booked a non smoking room but did not get one. Smelled like I was sleeping in as ashtray. Very noisy next to some truck company that works all hours all night. Would not return ever and not worth the money.

Good parking for pickup truck and boat trailer.

The bed was great. lots of pillows

Right next to the post office and trucks were coming in and out all night---the back up alarm is not conducive to sleeping.

Getting to the hotel was an adventure! Almost every street is a one-way street, but you cannot turn left for reasons we have yet to know. In addition, there are 2 lanes on a very cramped street, but you cannot use the far right lane as that is reserved for taxi's and busses only! I am certain we will have some tickets coming in the mail! :o( The hotel was very nice, but so over priced, PLUS you have to pay $43.50 PER DAY just to park your vehicle in the hotel garage! This is the ONLY place to park your vehicle. We really liked that in order to use the elevator you had to have a room key! More hotels should do the same. The room was very nice! The bed was one of the most comfortable hotels beds we have ever slept on. The sirens from police, fire or ambulance happened all night long. The neighborhood is very sad and depressing as there are quite a bit of homeless people. Once we were in our room we decided it was best we just relax, watch TV and let the sirens lull us off to sleep!

Room was clean but outdated. The tub was not stable it dipped in the middle. Service was good. The young lady at the receptionist desk was friendly and informative. The Hotel is located right off the freeway exit which made it easy to find.

A decent hotel at a fairly good location. good for one night stays.

Typical motel with individual exits to parking lot. Marginal breakfast included in price. Shuttle to airport every 30 minutes.

Did a one day layover in Reno with an early flight in the morning. So early we missed the free breakfast! :(. Oh well. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. The hotel really is 3 minutes from the airport ... Turn left, turn right, turn left and you are there. (Actually 4 minutes if you obey the airport speed limit --- and be sure you do!!!! 15 mph and they mean it. No food no bar but its Reno you can get anything you want anytime you want anywhere you want! 24x7 dial up room service for ANY kind of service so be careful what number you dial! Not as fancy as some La Quintas I have stayed at but everything we needed was there. Most definitely stay again unless I wanted to eat, drink and gamble. This time we wanted to sleep! :)

Average motel for quick overnight. The breakfast was ok but the seating area was so small that we had to stand.

Great. Needed it for 1 night- and didn't disappoint. It's right next to a high school, which was a little odd, but other than that, seemed like a good safe area.

Airport noise not an issue when there is a postal service / airport service trucking hub operating all night across the street. Semi's going in and out all night. Mix in noisy connecting room neighbors at 3 am and there is no sleep to be had. Called front desk and the neighbors took the news well. Room was fine for the money, service was excellent, breakfast was good. Just bring ear plugs.

The bathroom water faucet would not even stay on hot or cold. The stabilizer or sealant must have been loose. The outside appeared rundown with rust on the metal of the building. The area didn't appear safe. I would not recommend this hotel.

The room was clean and close to what we needed. For the price, it was a good value. The teenage boys really appreciated the waffles!

Not a pet friendly hotel. The pet relief area is a joke and I can't believe anyone uses it.

We had a great time and enjoyed the accommodations very much! We were there to attend some political state meetings and we were well rested with the beds! Everything else was great also! Nice people! Very professional. We were close to the UNR which was where our meetings were held which made it extra nice! We were also close to some excellent restaurants. We had a good breakfast at the motel to start the day off! Free!!! Will definitely stay there again and book with you!!

Only complain was upstairs walkway was very dirty. Needs at least hosing and brooming off.

My only bad thing was the long black hair in tub and corner of bathroom. We have blond and gray hair, wasn't ours. The BREAKFAST was great!!!! Overall it's a really nice place.

OK large room, neighborhood not so great for walking. Good area for your pets.

Just What we needed for a overnight and early depture at the RNO airport. Shuttle driver was great he got the van and parked it so we could load up before he clicked In.

Not as good as commercials say, they do have airport shuttle but your vehicle may not be in a secure area.

Close to airport & convenient to freeways. Not real close to downtown, which was alright by us, as downtown Reno wasn't part of our itinerary. There was no fridge or microwave in our room - just very basic amenities. Good for the price.

We often stay at La Quintas when we are on a road trip because of the complimentary breakfast included. All of our previous stays at other La Quintas have offered standard breakfasts. Here however, the pastries were pre-packaged versus fresh. And only one selection of muffin and bagel was provided. All in all, a very disappointing breakfast.

Facility is near airport and has great freeway access for going in any direction BY CAR. Breakfast is ok but very basic. Rate was selling point for a ten day stay.

We had specifically requested a ground floor room as my Wife recently had both knees replaced. When we checked in the attendant bluntly told us it was second floor or nothing; we were too tired to argue. While the room was fine the handle to the closet came off in my hand when I tried to open it and the shower control knob came off in my Wife's hand while taking a shower....the later could have resulted in a scald but did not. The tub would not drain. Will not go back.

the room was small and the beds weren't very comfortable. we have stayed at La Quinta Inns before and had a very nice room. Over all for the price it was okay. Probably won't stay at the La Quinta in Reno again.

I didn't know when I booked a room through Hotel.com that they don't tell you that the room maybe a smoking room. The room we had smell bad of cigarette smoke.

We enjoyed our stay in Reno, staff was exstreamley respectful and courtious. They were over the top in the information department, we probabley will stay there again in the future.Thank you

The elevator is really slow....... the carpet of the rooms are not in good condition. The bed sheets and pillow aren't clean ...saw hair and stain (did not get wash well), behind side table bed (little bit of garbage)...

Not bad for short stays! This is not a place I would pick for a romantic getaway or family reunion but it was good enough for a 1-night stay.

Nice, clean updated room for our stop-over with family of four. Snappy check-in, the helpful attendant had a good recommendation for Chinese food delivery. Kids enjoyed the pool. The TV had HDMI input in addition to analog options which is nice. The pet area looked amazingly clean. Breakfast was of the waffles and hard-boiled egg variety, a bit cramped as these retrofitted places tend to be but very clean and well-stocked. My only complaint is that the water pipes groaned a bit.

I went to this hotel because it states there would be a hot breakfast. Well the breakfast was just a continental breakfast with make your own waffles that were tasteless. The hotel room was clean but I thought it had a fridge but it did not. I probably wouldn't not say here again because I don't feel I got what I paid for.

Room was very clean, and the staff & front desk were very friendly and helpful. The waffles in the morning were worth the price of admission by themselves. The pool was a nice size, as me and my 2 sons had an enjoyable nite swim.
