לאחרונה חגגתי יום הולדת מיוחד ב- Waldorf Astoria. ביתי הודיע באימייל למלון על הארוע מיוחד וכאשר היגענו קיבלנו שוברים להנות מקוקטייל בבר של המלון. הצוות היה מועיל מאוד והחדר בקומה ה26 היה נוח מאוד.

מלון היסטורי יפיפה עם שירות נהדר. איפשרו לנו להכנס מוקדם ושידרגו עבורנו את החדר למגדלים מבלי שביקשנו אפילו. החדר היה מקסים עם הרבה אביזרים שנראו היסטוריים. התלונה היחידה שלי היא שהמזרון לא היה נוח כפי שציפיתי. באופן כללי זו הייתה חוויה נהדרת.

מלון נהדר, בכל אופן גדול ופעיל. אם אתם מחפשים מודרניות, זה לא הסגנון שלכם. מקסים וקלאסי עם עומק היסטורי. אנחנו בטוח נחזור.

נשארנו במלון 6 לילות. הצוות היה פנטסטי, שום דבר שביקשנו לא היה טירחה בשבילם. ארוחת הבוקר המאוחרת של יום ראשון הייתה נפלאה ולא כדאי להחמיץ אותה. החדרים, בכל אופן, זקוקים מאוד לטיפוח, לאכזבת המלון ועל אף שהצהירו על שיפוצים שנמשכו שנתיים ושרק עכשיו הושלמו, נראה כאילו לא הגיעו עדיין לחדר שלנו. באופן כללי הייתי מתארחת שם פעם נוספת בעיקר תודות לצוות היוצא מן הכלל.

כן, הלובי משגע. מלבד זה - לא ביג דיל ולא שווה את ה20 אחוז תוספת לעומת מקומות דומים. עשר דקות המתנה בהגעה בגלל שאין להם מספיק כוח אדם בדלפק הקבלה, לקח להם יותר משלשים דקות להביא את תפריט שרות החדרים שהיה חסר בחדר שלי ועד שהביאו וויתרתי כבר, כי מי יודע כמה זמן יקח עד שהאוכל יגיע. הכל, מאוכל ועד שירות ה - spa עולה 25 אחוז יותר ממלונות ארבעה כוכבים אחרים. כמובן, זה לא מקום רע אבל הוא לא ביג דיל ולא שווה לשלם יותר בשבילו.

היה לנו חדר מצוין במגדלים, זה שווה את התשלום הנוסף.

הלובי היה קלאסי, אבל לחדר שלנו, שהיה בקומה ה-9, לא היה נוף והוא לא היה כל כך נקי. התאכזבתי, אבל המיקום היה מושלם.

אני חושב שהמלון מצוין, אבל המחירים בבר זוועתיים! הם מאוד מנצלים את קהל המלון. חברתי ואני שתינו 2 משקות כל אחד והחשבון שלנו היה 99.00$ עם טיפ!

נהניתי לשהות במלון Waldorf עם האווירה של העולם הישן שהוא משרה.

First room not up to standard. Second room beautiful. A WOW experience.

Overall, the hotel was nice but certainly did not live up to the hype at all. Front lobby was very pretty. Room was small and décor left a lot to be desired. We have stayed at the Waldorf in Chicago and no doubt that the New York hotel is old but service, rooms are far lacking. We can say that we stayed at the Waldorf in New York but there are plenty of other excellent hotels that we would much rather choose next time we are in New York.

As a NYer, the Waldorf is a place I associate with faded glory, but I was in town one night there last week and was very pleasantly surprised. The place is hectic but the staff manages it quite well. My room wasn't ready when I checked in early, but they can send an SMS as soon as it is, which kept me from guessing when to come back as I was in much need of sleep and wanted to get the room as soon as possible. Likewise, the room was much larger than what I expected. I had apprehensions about booking but will now consider it for future visits. I would say it's both good for business and leisure if you want a central Midtown option.

Overall satisfied with the stay, but it was not as glamorous as I had hoped it would be. The walls are a bit thin as you can easily hear your neighbors, but the pillows are the best I have ever slept on.

We really enjoyed or stay. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. It is a good location for all the shopping.

The hotel itself is beautiful. I was surprised to see the rate on Hotels.com and booked the opportunity immediately. When I arrived i was greeted and quickly escorted to the check in line. I was upgraded and arrived in my room. The room was amazing, clean and comfortable. The in Hotel steak house on the other hand was a huge disappointment. The Bull and Bear? I sat at the bar and waited for the bartender to realize that there was a new customer. Although very friendly, he was a little slow on the uptake. Having to ask multiple times what I ordered for a drink, and when I ordered my petite fillet without the blu cheese, guess what came on it... I did not have time to wait for another so I ate the perfectly cooked beef with the lovely hint (I dislike blu cheese) of the cheese. I will fo course stay at this magnificent relic of a hotel again given the opportunity, I think they need to get to their roots, and remember what made them the #1 hotel a millenium ago.

Great location and friendly staff. Hotel was clean but needed updating. I will return.

Lovely place to rest and revitalize between grand adventures in the city.

Our stay could not of been more perfect. The hotel was magnificent along with the service and location which was just amazing! We celebrated my birthday along with Mother's Day and we really look forward to coming again!

Even in their starting base rooms the waldorfastoria's elegance shines. With the beauty of this historical building and the more then helpful staff, I will be choosing no less then waldorfastoria's for the rest of my life! I felt enamored from the moment I walked in to the very quick check out. I compel you to take the time and look around this icon of a hotel and enjoy its equally well staffed and atmosphere restaurants. There is no place like the Waldorf! It should also be noted that the bedding is some of the most cleanest sheets I've ever payed to sleep upon. They take no measure to small and all the while being as environmentally friendly as possible! Since the beginning of the hotel renaissance the Waldorf has set industry standards that most luxery hotels embody now. They are a leader amount the best and have convinced me their is nothing to compare. Even a one night stay is worth the price if you want to be treated for the full value of your dollar!

Just like the movies especially the up grade. Made our day!,

Only thing preventing me from giving it 5's all around is that there was a long wait at check-in. Otherwise great experience!

In a word. Tired! Public areas fantastic but rooms in desperate need up refreshing. Check in process far too long and this is my second visit and the room was not ready till after 4pm. My cell phone number was taken to alert me when the room was ready and much like the first visit I'm still awaiting the text message. Think that was my last stay there.

This hotel has seen better days. Wifi didn't work, no coffee in the room, not enough towels, tv remote didn't work, furniture worn, not enough furniture, $98/person Sunday brunch, etc

A spacious room in a quality establishment, in need of refurbishment. Noticeably absent from earlier stays was the afternoon tea service now missing from the lobby. The Internet charges were high compared to the free or nominal charges incurred at other hotels.

You read about the Waldorf in books, but I had always figured it was out of our price range. Booking thru an online site we found a reasonable price. I was still concerned after reading reviews, that maybe it was a mistake. People were saying that it was becoming run down, its best days were past, etc. But, the pros outnumbered the cons so we kept the reservation & crossed our fingers. We were not disappointed! It was beautiful! Grand, elegant & altogether lovely. My mom & I were impressed and my daughter was mesmerized. Be polite at check in, explain your concerns, and you'll probably get an upgrade. We had reserved a dbl luxury room (two dbl beds). Upon check in I mentioned that it was our 1st trip & we really hoping for a high floor (for the city views) & a renovated room. We got a complimentary upgrade to a king suite. It was amazing!! Everything I'd read told travelers to be prepared for the tiny rooms, so we were. But we walked into a 2 room, 2 bathrm, 2 walk-in closet, CORNER suite! It was huge, by anyone's standards. No, it wasn't newly decorated but it didn't matter. Very classy! Even though we were on the 21st floor, our view was marred by scaffolding right under our windows, so asking for a high floor doesn't necessarily get you a fantastic view. Still, it was fine. The beds - even the pull out couch - were so comfortable. Room temp was easy to moderate. Staff was superb. Location was excellent. (Note: be prepared to eat elsewhere. Although delicious, VERY $$$).

The Hotel itself was great. I had a problem when checking In. They could not locate my gold card. The person that checked me in was not very accomodating and rude. My only major issue was I did not have a closet in which to hang my clothing. Overall the experience in all other areas was great.

Make sure you ask not to be placed in the smoking Floor. They gave us a room in the 17th floor and the smell of smoke was unbearable. Make sure you ask for a non smoking room as they have an entire floor just for smokers. They moved us to a different room the following night but the first night was a nightmare.

Great old hotel...getting a little tired.

Only issue was old carpeting gave me allergy issues in the room but rest was fantastic. Older crowd (45-70) in the bars but cant beat the location and old NY flavor

The hotel was nice and the room was clean and comfortable but dated.

Hotel really needs maintenance my room tub was pealing ugh,rugs smelly furniture not closing well or hard to open or close,hall reminded me of the hotel in the movie The Shining. Really scary do not take children there. But hotel staff was very nice. But will not stay there again,or recommended. The. ChAtwall hotel was so much better .

Noisy, cramped, dirty, expensive. Stayed in another hotel for the first 3 nights, and never should have switched to the waldorf astoria. Such a huge waste of money. I can't believe how loud this hotel was. Nothing in the room worked, and the walls seemed about to come crashing down.

I was very disappointed in the stay here. The hotel is completely run down and the prices for what they offer you are absurd. We had to switch rooms 3 times!! We wanted a Park Avenue view and we got that, but there was no hot water in our room. When we called the complain, they told us to wait 20 minutes for the plumber and it was 11PM. It is not my home, I shouldn't have to sit with no hot water waiting for the plumber. Then after 10 minutes they switched us to a different room. The room was smaller with scaffolding cover our window. We complained about that then finally we got switched at around 11:45PM. It was a horrible experience for a hotel with such a reputation, well they did not uphold that at all. The hotel is also so run down and so old feeling, they really need to fix this place up for the prices they are charging.
