This was a good pick for the location, but shortly after checking in, there seemed to be maintenance on a nearby room. There was a lot of hammering and bumping around, which prevented us from napping. Although slightly overpriced, the movie selection was good. Once it started though, it skipped a few scenes, causing us to have to rewind, turning a movie that originally was an hour and a half into almost 2 1/2 hours. After stepping out for a bite to eat and a little fun at the nearby casino, we returned to a warm room. The front desk was contacted and provided a little "technical support" but in the end, nothing was done. Maybe the banging we heard earlier was to the A/C unit...without success. The next morning, I was excited to get to the Starbucks counter conveniently located downstairs, only to find that my usual 2.70 cup of Cafe Americano was 4.75 and ended up being completely wrong. The waitress/hotel receptionist was eager to fix it and added more of this and that, but we never got it right. I finally just thanked her and gave her a tip for the effort. What's a Starbucks without raw sugar and flavoring? This experience definitely could have been better.

One of the best hotels over ever stayed at! The service was beyond excellent, everyone was so nice and helpful! Great breakfast also, will definitely be staying here again.

Our stay was great.Rooms was really spacious and the service was outstanding.

I was only there one night, but it was nice and clean. They had a small tube of toothpaste as one of the toiletries, which I'm not used to seeing.

Very conveniently placed, I like the large suite-like rooms (standard), with all the amenities. Sleek, modern, yet cozy design. The front desk clerks are always bright, energetic, cheerful and welcoming people at all Hyatt Place hotels I've stayed in in three states. I'll definitely pick this hotel over most others in the price range

The employees were polite, however the room was hot and system was not working properly. The bathroom needs work, the shower head was pulling away from tile. Also I had to ask for a showercap and go Down to get it. The beds were comfortable.

It met all our expectations and the complimentary breakfast was excellent!

We had booked a room with double beds, but were given a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. Found hair on the sheets on the sofa bed. Asked for extra sheets and were given 2 sheets, one with holes in it and one with a stain on it.

It was nice dont get me wrong, but it is a very old hotel, a smell lingered through the hotel, and many kids unsupervised running and screaming on my floor.... I thought i was in the clear from children but being awaken by kids screaming, shattered my vision fast. I would not go back.

The room and service was the best room I have ever stayed in and the service was wonderful and friendly. Only the automobile traffic around the mall was bad.

I will say I was afraid of staying here after reading the reviews, but I'm glad I ended up staying. The front desk employees were nice and helpful. The room was big, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom vent was loud, but it didn't bother me at all. The breakfast was great - Egg sandwiches, juices, cereals, oatmeal, pastries, pancakes, french toast - just a really good selection. The outside was being painted, but I never heard any noise in my room. The bed was comfortable. Hotel is across from a mall and restaurants which is convenient. Hotel has a shuttle that will take you within 3 miles for free. It was overall a great stay.

I was satisfied and most probably will visit again next week

Hotel was under renovation. One elevator was not working so always slow. Our pull out couch was broken on one corner so you would sink. Otherwise great location for shopping, restaurants etc.

Started out rough and had to change rooms due to broken toilet, musty smell, and construction noise. Staff helpful but limited choices. We've stayed there before and were happy but wish we had known about the construction before hand.

I wanted a room with 2 full size beds and ended up with a king size and pull out couch. The couch was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The pillows were skinny but thick at the same time if that is possible so it left your neck in a bind. There was not enough pillows for 5 people to sleep. The toilet had a broken handle and you had to raise it up manually or it would run all night. The air conditioner was really loud to the point that it would startle you when it came on. The television was nice, very large screen and good amount of channels. The room had a stale odor to it.

The hotel was undergoing a lot of renovations and because of that, they appeared to decide to let their maintenance and cleaning of the overall rooms be something of little importance. My room smelled, and had stains on the headboard. Of what, I don't know :S

The hotel was nice and I enjoyed the breakfast. I was expecting a continental breakfast but they also had pancakes, eggs bendict and bacon, croissant sandwiches. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were excellent especially the layout. Living area with couch and ottoman, large flat screen tv that can be seen from bed or sofa. Small kitchenette with sink and refrigerator but no microwave. Desk area was convenient for working.

The exterior of this hotel is an indication of what is inside.This facility is not operated by Hyatt, and the litter and trash outside reflect the lack of cleanliness inside. The carpets in the elevator are filthy. The elevators operate like they are in a fleabag, not a Hyatt property. The carpet inside the room was dirty. When you book a Hyatt property, you expect Hyatt standards of cleanliness and service. While the service was fine, the hotel is dirty and maintenance is lacking. My wife stayed here three weeks ago and said she would never be back. Now I understand why. Avoid this place. It's dirty.

They miss oneday of housekeeping as far as every thing else fine.

The front desk staff was quite helpful & friendly. However, in our 2 night stay, they did not clean our room, after the 1st night. We were out of the room from 11 - 4 P.M. , so there was plenty of time. I heard this from others traveling with us, for the wedding we were attending.

Our room itself was very nice and spacious, even if we only stayed the one night. The employees were also very nice and hlpeful. The only real complaints I have were about the tv and the breakfast. I expected at least basic cable in the room and it turned out you had to buy movies, that was your only option. When the breakfast was okay and they offered more variety than I would have expected, most of it was stale and the yogurt they had available was past the date printed by about two weeks.

Other than some plumbing issues, this hotel was very nice. We stayed here after an LSU game, and though it is a little bit further from the University than some others, it was still convienent.

I was a little hesitant staying this far from downtown (by looking at the map) for a conference. This hotel was way more comfort for the buck than I ever had staying downtown and it only took an average of 8 minutes to get to and from downtown. I must say this was the quietest spot I've ever stayed at in Baton Rouge. The bathroom was a tiny bit cramped (I'm a BIG boy) but other than that this was a very comfortable room that I would not hesitate to recommend!

Clean but could use updating. Amenities in lobby seem to have been an after thought.

Came into Baton Rouge for my daughter's rehearsal, rehearsal supper, and wedding. Very satisfied with the room. The employees at the front desk were very helpful to me with recommending a deli to order and pick up vegetable, fruit, and sandwich trays. Also helped me to find a cleaners who would steam my mother-of-the-bride dress and the last minute. Total overall experience was a good one.

I enjoyed the stay overall. The beds were comfortable, save the pull out sofa bed (of course, how many really are comfortable!). The room was clean and appealing to stay in for an overnight stay. The mini sectional sofa/sleeper was a nice touch. The rooms could use an overhead fan to help circulate the A/C throughout the room. The staff was very helpful and friendly--to the point that they pulled up directions to a local attraction and printed them out for me. In the morning, the "continental" breakfast was very good--hot items and cold. Overall, this country bumkin thought it was great!

It was okay. Don't think I would stay here in the future? Amenities were average and the employees were moderately helpful.

I like Hyatt Place's overall, booked my room ~3 weeks in advance, and looked forward to my stay. Hurricane Isaac happened in the meantime. The wind driven rain entered the window AC units and around the window seals in many of the rooms. About 2/3 of the rooms were torn up to allow them to dry out. The exercise room was out of order. This all did make me think: at what point should a property notify their pending clients about the situation? I think management would have scored more points with me over the long term if they would have let me know in advance. That said: the staff on hand was capable, understanding, and moved me to a better room. I was actually impressed with the staff on hand dealing with the situation.

The wife and I were shopping in the area and stayed overnight. The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and willing to help in any way The electricity had went off and the ice maker on our floor was not working. In fact the only ice machine available was on the 5th floor. Our room was clean and the king size bed was great. The wife and I slept very well. I would recommend these accommodations to anyone.

we have stayed in this hotel 4-5 times with all times being satisfactory except this one. the room had a water leak that caused a musky smell and the air conditioner was very loud when it cut on and off every 15 minutes. the hotel is starting to show some wear and tear and the overall appearance of the interior of the hotel seems to have detiorated quickly
