Staff are friendly. Hotel are kind of old. But worst thing is access. Hard to find out for 1st visiter. There was another gate in the back, but nobody told us. We found out at last day we leave.

Run down Hotel that allows smoking but says smoke free???

Very nice , quaint hotel with a very nice Continental Breakfast.Very comfortable beds and quiet nights sleep

I had read some reviews and had an idea of what to expect. I chose this hotel for its location convenient to some meetings I had, and it was definitely a better deal than the more expensive places. I feel like I saved $50 over other choices, and got free parking and free breakfast, with the trade-off being location and a bit of shabbiness. I asked for a room facing away from the noisy highway (granted) and a non-smoking room (granted). Hotel is a bit worn down, but clean, and staff were VERY nice and helpful. The "continental breakfast" was substantial, including boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, cereal, toast, etc. -- significantly more than the coffee and pastry some hotels call breakfast.. I would definitely stay here again.

The sheets were clean. But the breakfast is the worst I've ever encountered. Very few choices offered. Nothing more can be said about it.

Apparently two types of rooms are available, hotel and motel. The motel rooms are on the back and a little creepy. I'm still not sure how to make sure you are booking the hotel rooms. All girls on the trip. We used the buddy system. There is a major interstate on the front and a 4 lane street on the back.We ran the air-conditioner to drown out the sound. Ideal rooms would be on the back side of the hotel facing the pool.

Comfortable but dated. No elevator. Bug in the bathroom ?

One thing that most impressed me and is not mentioned, is the fact that the hotel has a shuttle bus that takes its visitors to any where in the hospital district they need to go, and will return and pick them up. To someone from out of town, the shuttle bus was very appreciated.

The obbtom libe is that La Quinta has older hotels and needs to do some serious upkeep...change the paint, do something

I booked this hotel with some trepidation because of the price. Usually, you get what you pay for and low rates mean, "Don't expect much." I was pleasantly surprised. Although this hotel is not a five star, it is well maintained. The employees were nice and efficient. The hotel is older, but not rundown. There are outside rooms and inside rooms, so if you prefer inside, request it. The breakfast was nothing fancy, but everybody can find something. One note, using a gps may have you going out of your way a little bit. Be sure to check the surrounding map. I found it much easier to use the local streets and enter through the back.

The hotel was older and showed signs of wear. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would avoid getting a room on the freeway side, because they were very noisy. Breakfast was disappointing. The only eggs were boiled. No oatmeal the second day of our stay. Next time I will spend more money and stay at a nicer hotel.

Disappointing. No double handicapped room, no queen doubles. Breakfast buffet was literally pulled down while we were serving ourselves at 8:55

close to MD Anderson, HEB, and movie theater. Nice front desk people, decent breakfast, very helpful shuttle to MD Anderson

Because we were there to go to MD Anderson, the medical shuttle was very much appreciated.

Hotel appears a little run down but other than that I was satisfied with my 2 night stay. Customer service was excellent.

The service wasn't horrible, but the condition of the room was absolutely awful. The carpet and chair had some very questionable stains, the drain in the sink didn't work, and the shower was very hard to control. I think the place was built before sound proofing existed, also. The area was OK, and the linens seemed clean, so not all bad.

This hotel is located in a bad location. Vehicle was broken into. Just an erie shady place. I am a male so I would advise families and women staying alone to look else where.

The location and room rate were reasonable, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and responsive to requests. The free breakfast is pretty good, but gets boring after 2 days. The pillows were not great, but they do provide a lot of them to choose from. The water pressure in the shower is fine, but the water temp varied anytime water was used in another room. Our tub drain was practically stopped up when we first used the shower, causing us to stand in ankle-deep water; when we reported this, they had maintenance in the room fixing it within 30 minutes, and we had no further troubles with it. The room did have a musty smell, and an ashtray on the table even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room. They removed the ashtray and presumably ran an ozone machine to freshen the air, but that didn't really help. It didn't take long to get used to it, but it was noticeable every time we entered the room. We would probably rather pay a little extra for another hotel next time we go to that region.

My wife and i were visiting Lakewood church and searched for the closest hotel. La quinta has allways been good to us over the years so we decided to stay. the hotel is very outdated and seems a bit dirty. staff was great but it doesnt mean alot when the hotel seems like its falling apart.

The lobby of the hotel was nice but the rest of te hotel was just 'fair' in cleanliness and upkeep. For the reduced fair at hotels.com you are places not in the main building but rather in the outer rooms accessible to the parking lot which is either toward the freeway or sketchy neighborhood surrounding.

Had to take a smokers room since that was all that was available. Reeked of smoke, of course. Door frames & light switches was dirty. No elevator. Friendly staff at desk.

Ok for the price. Probably would not stay again.

I stayed here because I was attending a three day class in the area and the location was excellent for this purpose. I had a little trouble getting on and off the freeway but nothing that a little prior knowledge and planning wouldn't have fixed. Otherwise it was perfect for what I needed which was a reasonable rate for a clean room and a close location.

This hotel is fairly close to downtown and the Rice Village on the access road to the freeway. Parking is very limited and it will be difficult for patrons with larger vehicles to slide in and out comfortably. The rooms are very standard, but clean and comfortable. Very comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a standard continental fare with a wafflemaker. Would stay again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Condition of hotel was mediocre. Showerhead was coming out of wall. Hot water temperature fluctuated. Upon first arriving, there was a lot of trash in the back parking area. Continental breakfast was good.

It was in a good location - near enough downtown to drive there quickly, but not in the real thick of it. The continental breakfast was bigger than most; we actually got full. We were given a room next to the freeway, but when we asked if we could be moved away from the freeway, it was no problem at all. We felt comfortable and safe there. It was all good.

Did not like stale cigarette smoke odor. Bed coverings were not very comfortable.

Bathroom needs attention! Toilet seat loose and slides from side to side. Shower head will not stay in place. No chair in room--difficult to dress while standing. No shampoo or other personal care products were provided--only bath soap. Location not too far from MDAnderson was good for us.

ok hotel in general. Check in was very quick, the hotel staff was helpful and courteous. We only stayed there for one night. Only complaints are the "musty' smell in the hotel (old) and the very limited choice/quality of the breakfast.

Would definitely stay there again . All the staff were very courteous from the moment we checked in, to when we checked out . Continental Breakfast was well equipped making sure everyone had something to choose from .Service was all satisfactory for hotel price. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends that are in a budget :)

May not be the newest hotel but the staff was very welcoming and made for a nice stay. Great location.

The Hotel is older but it clean and the staff is helpful. But we had to flush the toilet twice to get it to flush. So we told them they sent a repair man and said it was fixed . We still had to flush it twice to get it to work. Other than that a great stay. The
