This hotel is fine for one night. Pillows are terrible for someone who likes a firm pillow. This hotel should also have a continental breakfast available for those who do not have the time for a sit-down meal in the morning. There also was no room service as an alternative.

We have stayed here before and it is always clean and in a good location to where we want to be. However, the service in the hotel is never been very good and still has not changed. Check in was at 3 pm and we did not get our room until almost 6 pm along with other people that were waiting for their rooms. We were told it was because the night before was very heavy. It would not have been a big deal if we did not have plans. The hotel people are not the warmest bunch, but then they never are here!

I arrived at 2 for a 3 pm check-in, hoping to get in early. The people at the desk were apologetic but totally incompetent. Their excuse was the housekeeping was backed up. I did not get into my room until 8:30 pm, and we were not alone! And other guests were complaining that they had been given keys to rooms that were already occupied. As I was there to attend a graduation, my family and I had to change in the rest rooms at the pool. Next morning, we had breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. The service was extremely slow. There were many wait help standing around, but even though we were the last to leave, not one table had been cleared.

It was very good for what I needed to catch the ferry to fishers island I would have liked better food service But overall it was good for us

the hotel is much improved since they began renovation. I think the staff still needs some work, but when I left a piece of expensive electronics in my room it had been turned and was waiting for my friend to pick up. That is a miracle today. So, goof job, guys.!

Downtown New Lonfon needs more than this rapidly flag flipping (three names in just months)hotel with a rehab on the cheap.

This hotel does not exist!! Pulling up we found that it was a Holiday Inn. Luckily they honored our reservation. It was recently bought out by the Holiday Inn and newly renovated, so our rooms were brand new, very clean. Girl at check in was very nice and answered all our questions. The only issued we had was the women from housekeeping that opened our door at 9:30 Sunday morning while we were still in bed!

I was looking for a New London Plaza Hotel sign when I arrived but it is a Holiday Inn! Very confusing. The hotel staff was very accommodating though, they searched vending machines in non guest parts of the hotel to get me the pop flavor I was looking for. They also allowed us a late check out with no additional charge. The room was a basic room with the basic amenities, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and tv. The bathroom was a nice size and everything seemed to be freshly painted. I did not enjoy however that the toilet seat was a normal round size but the toilet was an oval shape. It left a large exposed piece of the toilet rim out which made using the toilet a little uncomfortable. Other than that, our visit was what we expected for the price.

Too bad the web nor the folks helping with the reservation were unable to tell me that the hotel was undergoing renovations to become a Holiday Inn. I am sure it will be a nice hotel when they are done, but this was the worst hotel stay I have ever had. No restaurant for breakfast -- had to walk 1-1/2 miles to Goody's.

A comfortable place for an overnight stay. The lighting in the bathroom could be a little brighter.

This hotel is so nice for the price. The pool was wonderful and the staff very helpful. Overall wonderful place. Will definitely return

I reserved a room with two queen beds because we are two adult males that were traveling together. Upon check-in I was told it was a two bed room. However, when we got to the room we found it was a single bed. After waiting 15 minutes for the front desk attendant, he told me there were no more two bed rooms. When I asked why he told me I had one he was unsure of how he misread their room description. It was a very uncomfortable night!!

We have stayed here many times when in New London but the quality of service and cleanliness of the hotel in general has decreased dramatically. The staff were not engaging and seemed more worried about talking on the phone at the front desk about personal issues. Also we stayed there 2 months ago when construction had just begun on renovations there was a message on booking that projected finish was March 15 2 months later it doesn't look like any progress has been made since the last time we were there. We were not expecting a miracle but we were greatly dissappointed in our stay this time. It might be time to find a new hotel in the vicinity.

The hotel was bring renovated...i was not told this,everything was covered with plastic,the kitchen was closed,the pool was empty,my room had no heat,and then the fire alarm goes off for no reason...I'm not sure if I would stay here again

The hotel is being renovated so it was pretty inconvenient. The pool was closed. They advertised breakfast that was non existing. Heat was not working in room. They sent someone up to fix it and then in the middle of the night it started making horrible noises. Not a good experience at all. Will never go back there again

If you're looking to just get a room in the area for a night or two at a decent price but not at nasty motel quality, this is he place for you. It was extremely cheap but I felt like I got more for the price. It was strange because I get there and there's a sign outside that said "New London Plaza Hotel" but the doors say "Holiday Inn" and when you turn on the TV, it said "Welcome to the Radisson Hotel", so I guess the hotel has gone through different management. The rooms weren't the best but compared to other places that charged around the same price, these rooms were pretty good. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean. The only thing I would say about the bathroom was that there were no towels. Luckily I brought my own just in case. There's a fridge and microwave in the room, which was a nice surprise because the ad said that you needed to pay extra for it (which I didn't). The bed was comfortable. The A/C and Heater in the room was easy to use. There's a TV the room with a few channels. I didn't go but I believe there is an indoor pool and a restaurant and lounge in the hotel. Also, a friend of mine said that occasionally they have comedy shows in the hotel with local comedians. Not too shabby. Overall, it's not the absolute best but it's a hotel with A LOT better quality than what you pay for. I would stay there again.

This hotel is under renovation. No pool, restaurant, lobby dusty. Do not chose this hotel until renovations are completed.

This is a Holiday Inn property which we were not made aware of in advance, and a poor one at that. Both pool & restaurant were closed, again, we were not told to us in advance. Lobby was a mess, carpeting totally worn throughout the property, bed saggy & lumpy. All this even though we were told at check in that the rooms had just been refurbished! Front desk staff was friendly, but that was the only positive in our dreary stay.

Had a great time at the hotel. Stayed for new years eve to go to mohegan sun. Had free shuttle to and from the casino. Free breakfast the next day from 10 am to 2 pm and had late checkout at 1 pm so we could sleep in. The only thing that sucked was the shower. It wasnt great.

horrible place

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The location is perfect as it is steps from the Cross Sound Ferry. All of the local attractions of New London/Mystic/casinos are minutes away via major highways. Sure, the hotel is undergoing renovations. But I have to say that during the days and nights I stayed here, there was no inconvenience at all. The rooms are HUGE too!

The hotel lobby is still under renovation - as is the pool area - but the room we stayed in had been upgraded and was really very nice. The breakfast was good too. Once the common areas are complete this will be even nicer. We went to a concert at Mohegan Sun and were able to drive back roads to get there and it only took about 15 minutes. Very convenient.

The New London Hotel is under renovations. I was not advised of any onsite dining, I ate locally. Dry cleaning service was not offered on site, I was told that there was a local dry cleaning service. The pool was closed. The hotel shows promise once the renovations are complete.

Yes the hotel is under construction. We only were staying 2 days and visiting Coast Guard Academy therefore an unfinished pool was not a problem for us. The continental breakfast was good the first day. Not so good the second they had only 1/2 of the items from first day and waffle maker didn't work every thing was sticking. I would however visit again. The renovations were very pretty and room extremely clean. Comfortable beds and large flat screen.

The hotel is still under construction thus making an evaluation difficult. The pool and fitness facility were closed (under construction), and the breakfast bar was not well staffed. The room was very nice, and the location of the hotel was excellent.

The hotel is under renovations and should not be open to the public until they finish. we stayed the first night only because we had no other place to go but cancelled our second night stay. When we pulled up we thought we had the wrong place, it looked condemened. If I could post pictures you would see what I mean. I would never have booked this hotel if I had knowned the state it was in. Very disapointed with HOTELS.COM/CA for even having this place on it's site without any warning of what to expect.

The hotel did not have any amenities that was display on the hotels .com

BAD: poor appearance while under renovation; room was fine, looked clean, but trash on the bathroom floor was not picked up for 2 days, the mouth wash was open... rather gross. Staff friendly. Breakfast.. ran out of food one morning, no cream cheese, just a couple of bagels - overall just seems very poorly managed.

Although in the midst of remodeling, it did not effect guests. All staff were helpful.

I was not warned by Hotels.com that the hotel has been under total refurbishing since the Spring. Dumpsters in the parking lot, mattresses in the lobby, the pool was totally deconstructed. Every employee should receive a bonus for the professional mano in which they greet and listen to reactions such as mine when checking in, it is unclear if the hotel is really open, and if one should stay there. Breakfast was excellent, but it is clear the dining room has not been upgraded yet. The room was not yet complete, but it was clean, just lacking the the final touches. I would stay there again, when it is finished, so long as the empolyees have been remunerated for their professionalism as they compensate for the surprise of unknowing customers checking into a construction zone. While I am flexible, and adapted to the condition, many people not have been so gracious. Kudos to the employees!!

I think they should else the hotel until they finish renovating, I've been there twice and they seem to be at the same stage 6 month later. However the breakfast is very good.

Loved the bed!!!!!!!!!!!! And the bathroom!!!

it is overall clean but i rated cleanliness and comfort of room 4 only because of the musty smell of the room. breakfast was delicious; front desk personnel were very accommodating and helpful; love the sleep number beds in the room we had; conveniently located for our purpose; will stay there again if travelling to the area; the only thing we did not like was the smell upon entering the room; if the window can be opened for a few minutes before guests check-in, it may help eliminate or minimize the musty odor.

The staff was friendly and helpful...it was frustrating that the hotel was under construction and that the pool was closed, etc. Construction also started at 6 am. The staff was very gracious to make up for the frustration of being woken up early.

I reserved 3 rooms with king beds to see a concert for one night. When we checked in to our rooms to get ready one room was not clean. I went to the front desk to complain and the clerk said the room would be cleaned right away. My sister had to get ready for the concert in my room. We came back around 12:30am. 20 min. later I heard some guys being loud and glass breaking in the hallway. So I called the front desk to complain. Soon after the noise stopped. In the morning I was going down the hall to meet my mother for breakfast. She was staying in the 3rd room that was in-between mine and my sisters room. I saw the broken drink glass all over the floor, so I picked up a big piece and brought it to the clerk and told her what happened the night before. My mother told me the drunk guys that I heard were right outside her room and they were falling against her door and knocking on her door. She did not know what to do. Again, soon after it all stopped. So I went to the front desk to speak to the hotel manager and the clerk told me she did not come in until 8:30am. Now at 8:45 we were at the front desk to check out and I again asked to speak to the manager, now the clerk tells me she would not be in today. When we got home I called hotels.com where I had booked the rooms through to complain to them and tell them my story. The woman called the hotel herself and told me with some convincing she got the hotel to credit me for 2 rooms! BRAVO TO HOTELS.COM!

The building was being renovated during my stay. Construction workers began work around 8am right outside the hotel walls. I barely got any sleep after that began. Also, the curtains do not close all the way so the room was so bright as the sun began to shine. Overall terrible stay. I didn't get much sleep.

The hotel is under construction and was not mentioned in their posting on hotels.com which was a bit disapointing. However, I was there on business so the comfort of the room was more important than the suroundings. Great new rooms and beds!+++ just wish the breakfast was on time and well, better quality. All in all a good stay for the price.

First we were never informed that there were renovations going on and found out when we arrived... ok that's not a big deal. Being that it wasa Saturday night into Sunday morning we didn't think we'd be bothered with it. But waking up to construction workers "working" around our window and we caught them looking in. It was awkward and very uncomfortable. Oh yeah the door falling ff the hinges at 3am was awesome! Not! No one answered the phone at the front desk when we called to complain. The next morning when we told the staff about our awful stay the couldn't have cared any less and brushed us off. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!
