Hotel Triton, a Kimpton Hotel - סן פרנסיסקו

My husband and I recently stayed here and would highly recommend it to anyone! So unique and very friendly staff! San Francisco is an expensive city so it was really nice to find this little gem. I totally feel like I got the San Francisco funky cool experience and didn't have to pay through the nose! Thank you again to the staff for a memorable experience and recommendations!

The hotel is not traditional so it was nice to see something a little different. The staff was very friendly and the bed was comfortable. I would suggest not getting a room next to the ice machine amd there was various noises throughout the night. All in all it was a good stay!

The hotel's decor was unique (part of the reason we booked it) and the hotel staff were very accommodating with any request we had. The location is literally across the street from the Dragon Gate and only a few blocks from Union Square, so the location is great. My only concern was that the hotel didn't have central-air but rather had window units in the hotel rooms; I understand that it's an older building but it still seemed odd for a hotel room that cost over $200. All-in-all, I would recommend it in the future.

Comfortable and good location for exploring San Fran

Hotel is super cute with lots of fun colors and flare! Complimentary tea and coffee in the morning, cookies in the afternoon and wine in the evening. Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Location was great if you're doing something in the Financial District, theres some cute cafes close by but nothing late night. One major drawback was how loud it got at night. I was on the fifth floor far corner from the hotel entrance - constant garbage trucks collecting trash, street cleaning, a man playing saxophone until midnight.

Room was clean and comfortable, staff helpful and a great location close to Chinatown, Union Square, etc. Lots of restaurants in a wide range of prices, etc. nearby. Hotel tries a little too hard to convey a "hipster" image but that's a minor point. My only major gripe was that wifi access was really expensive - but there are several coffee shops close by with free access.

Bathrooms are very small and could use an upgrade (bathtub was in poor condition, barely enough room for 1 person, don't see how 2 people could manage). Service was excellent.

We stayed in the Hotel Triton during last Christmas. The hotel is conveniently located in the downtown and very near to tourist attractions and public transport routes. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and different in a good way. Even though the room was small you cannot expect more space at the heart of a big, expensive city for a low price. The hotel has a unique style of design/decoration. However, I have only one complain- the bathtub took some time to drain after taking a shower. Apart from that, we had a pleasant and memorable stay. I would definitely stay in Hotel Triton if I visit SFO again.

We loved staying here. It is right by the gate to Chinatown. The staff were really helpful and the manager's happy hour was very generous! The only thing I didn't like was the "origami" they did with the sheets, wrapping them round the duvet. I hate that. I would still stay there again without hesitation.

We've wanted to stay at this hotel for sometime but it was always fairly expensive. we happened to get a great rate for a Friday night stay. The lobby, hallways, rooms are all uniquly decorated. really nice bed, very clean room. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, we missed the wine happy hour.Location is perfect, a couple short blocks to Union Square. Hope to stay here again. PS:free wi-fi if you join their loyalty group, which we were going to do anyway.

The Triton was fine for a one night stay as the rooms are very small to stay any longer. The last minute rate was great. The hotel needs a facelift as the decor (funky/colorful/whimsical) is looking a bit tired. My 16 year old son however, thought it was very cool!! The staff was friendly and readily accommodated our late check out!! The location was the best part of the visit, within walking distance to great restaurants, business district, Bart, China Town, and Union Square.

Such a fun, hip, modern spot. My teen and preteen loved it, especially the chalk board and fun robes

We couldn't have asked for more. The service was top-notch from the moment we checked in (and got upgraded to a suite) to their recommendations and advice to the complimentary wine tasting and beers sent to our room. We had our dog, who they gave treats & played with. The bell staff and valets went out of their way for us. They gave us free admission to the crazy St. Patty's Day party next door. They gave us a personal tour of the hotel. Special kudos to Tawny for her extra efforts!

Good hotel. Dislikes: no one at the valet parking stand when we arrived which is on a busy street, bed was okay, more cute than comfortable. Likes: good location, decorated really cute, great service at the front desk, WINDOW OPENS! Love when the hotel window opens!

Great staff! Small but comfortable and clean room. Close to everything!

An old building redecorated in the most clever, funky, and charming ways, Hotel Triton is San Francisco at its creative, funky best. From the Jack Keroac wallpaper to the psychedelic color schemes. That, plus great location and attentive service. A great place to stay downtown.

Very ecclectic hotel. Loved the daily ice water service in the lobby with the afternoon chocolate chip cookies. The staff at the front desk are very helpful in planning your day. The hotel is located close to all of the major tourist locations and shopping. I would definitely go back!

Not only a great boutique hotel, but it has one of the best locations in all of San Francisco. Right by all the cool shops. On Chinatown's doorstep. Right next to Union Square. The staff was exactly as they should be in a San Francisco boutique hotel: Cool, laid-back and extremely personal. They clearly enjoy what they do. The décor of the rooms absolutely holds up, even if it is getting a bit older. Very cool!

No breakfast? No problem! Hotel Triton makes up for the lack of a morning ritual with an amazing Happy Hour conveniently right before dinner time. We'd take a Hot Toddy over scrambled eggs any day -- especially since the Hotel is within walking distance of some of the best dim sum in San Fransisco. Awesome staff, cool decor and germaphobe friendly! A+

Except for a period when we had a barking visitor next door, all was well.

Wonderful desk staff. Fun hotel. Great location for a tourist

wasn't there long (midnight to 7:30am) but was very satisfied. Room was clean, if small, but perfect for my purpose. No coffee maker in room but in morning complimentary coffee & tea in lobby.

The room was small, of course with a scenic view of an alley. But, I got a terrific rate and expected as much. There was a good bit of late night noise from delivery trucks. I'm a heavy sleeper so it doesn't bother me. My only complaint about the room was that the AC/heating unit was beside the desk at torso level. The staff was absolutely outstanding. Very courteous and helpful during my stay.

For a three-star hotel in San Francisco, their prices are amazing. The location is fantastic, with convenient access to cheap quality dining, fine dining, and, best of all, Target! We absolutely loved our room. It had neat little touches, including a chalk board. How cool is that? Loved the free wine bar as well. The staff was outstanding. Will definitely be staying here again during our next visit to San Francisco.

Comfortable, clean, convenient, and cozy. Would stay here again.

Nice funky room, clean and working except window wouldn't stay open. Great friendly and helpful staff. Cookies and wine reception nice touches. The Triton is right at the Grant Ave famous gate to Chinatown, in the center of the Financial District, a few blocks from Union Square, and an easy walk to the Embarcadero, Chinatown, and North Beach. Would definitely stay again.

The Triton is a funky little hotel in the Kimpton chain. The rooms are small but comfortable and the staff is eager to please. Easy to walk to Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach - its in a good spot.

This hotel was perfect for a work class I was attending on Bush Street - literally 2 blocks away. Great location for walking around and visiting my favorite city spots - Embarcadero and North Beach

This hotel has loads more personality and charm than some of the surrounding options and seemingly at reasonable rates. Decor, staff and quality of amenities made this hotel stand a class above most others at which I have stayed with a similar star ranking.

9 a.m. when some construction workers were taking some scaffolding down right outside my window. The hotel couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it, and couldn't find a way to compensate for my disrupted sleep. It ruined what otherwise was a great stay.

Had a beautiful room with an unexpected upgrade. Great neighborhood with easy access to great restaurants and major parts of the city.

Only stayed one evening. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Room was comfortable.

fun comfy charming

We just had a great stay at the Triton on all levels. Check-in was quick and friendly. We even just missed the complimentary wine reception but they sent something up to our room anyway. The literary theme in the decor was a lot of fun. The hotel is a very short walk to many great destinations - Union Square, Chinatown, Coit Tower. Found a great bar around the corner, the Burritt Room, and had a delicious lunch at the attached restaurant next door, the Cafe de la Presse. Joined the Kimpton Club in order to get free internet, but I won't mind staying in the loop on news and deals from this well-run hotel chain.

We had a great stay! I've stayed at various Kimpton Hotels in the past and always had a pleasant experience. Hotel Triton was no exception. From the Valet to check-out, the service & staff were great. A wine reception at 5PM on Saturday evening, clean rooms. Close to all the sights & sounds of Union Square's Holiday Festivities, as well as many bars & restaurants. We come up from Santa Clara every year for an overnight trip to eat, drink and shop our way through the City and this was THE ideal location. We'll all be back again soon. Merry Christmas!

The hotel is in a great location. It is very tired and incredibly noisy. Situated right on a lane way with large dumpsters which were being emptied at all hours. It was difficult to get a decent sleep. It is also expensive given the age of the decor and the noise factor. With that said... the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The cleaning staff were intrusive. I had a late check out arranged, but the staff must have knocked at my door every 20 mins . Drove me nuts. I did leave at the agreed time, but felt driven out.
