Overall it was pretty nice. Although in need of an upgrade. The carpet was very dingy, no weatherstripping on the door, the balcony rail was rickety & the bathroom had a bit of mold. The bed & pillows were super comfy. The toiletries were great. The very best feature was the spectacular view.

Wonderful and friendly staff. Very nice to have a place which accommodated our dog so my daughter and I could have a nice mini-vacation. The dog especially liked her doggie treat bag!! Thank you

We enjoyed our stay and the room, with a view of the ocean, was very clean and comfortable. If we are back in the area again we will definitely book there.

This hotel is well priced and convenient; however, it could use some upgrades. The tub area was stained and there are no PPV movies offered.

its not that far for a walk, but facing the beach was nice, though you have pedestrians walking past on a walk if your on the ground level. go to belle italia for dinner, very good with awards to show

Made this reservation early.... room keys did not work waited in the hall forever for them to come after checking in 4 other people. Open the door to the non smoking room and it stunk AWEFULL of cigarette smoke !!! We walked right back out we couldn't tolerate it. We were left yet again in the hallway with our luggage.... All the while watching people get checked into the oceanfront rooms... Which I plan ahead early to get in ocean front room. It was very frustrating watching Everybody else get checked in while we were standing in the hallway. Then to top it off we were not treated very well in the restaurant. Service was way slow and we were ignored. We probably would've had more but they never came back to the table !!!! So extremely frustrating. Upon checkin we paid ahead of time for breakfast Which we never got to eat because I had to be taken to the ER. Not the hotels fault.... But just added to the whole experience. Never got refunded

Nice place... Stayed here a few times.. This time the room was so cold, even with the heater on full. Went back to front desk and was upgraded to a harbour view room with a new heater.. Very friendly front desk man... Room still took forever to warm up... They were huge heaters, so I assume the hotel is able to set them on a summer heating, as even at full power, it was like cold air blowing out.. I'd be hesitant about staying here if the outside temp. dipped to freezing, unless I carried a portable heater with me. ...Other than that, I really like thew place.. Friendly staff, and the restaurant food isn't too bad, if the chef would learn how to cook a steak to order..

I loved the location of the Red Lion in Port Angeles, both for the view and the proximity to downtown. The Crab restaurant was delightful. We would stay at this hotel when we come back to Port Angeles and would recommend it to friends and family.

The only concern I have is I reserved an"exterior" room. I thought that meant a room with a view of the bay. However, that meant a room with a balcony. Be careful of descriptive words when reserving rooms. Make sure you know exactly what you are getting.

We were pleasantly surprised. After a quick trip from Victoria on the Coho ferry, we walked over ! The lovely young lady at the front desk greeted us with smiles and made us feel at home in one minute flat ! She helped give us an upgrade to the perfect room - it was my husbands birthday and the whole front desk team went out of their way to wish him a happy birthday. Breakfast was another great event - wow - where did you find such pleasant staff ?! We will be back !

Great friendly staff. Older hotel. Funky smell in the room and noisy ventilation at night, but could have just been how close our room was to the central vent system. Exceptionally convenient location, walking distance to the BB Ferry.

room musty/smoky smelling housekeeping did not turn over room well between stays, did not clear out used glasses or coffee i forgot to drink

Water view rooms are spacious and have good views over the Straight of Juan de Fuca, with Mt. Baker in the distance. Sunrise is spectacular. Excellent bathroom facilities. Ferries, dining and shopping just a short walk away.

Stayed in exterior building (the one behind the building on the water). Room clean but VERY musty smelling. Turned room AC unit on hoping it would help dissipate smell. It didn't & AC unit was very noisy. Bed very comfy (pillow top). Linens clean. Plumbing worked. Had a good breakfast in restaurant. But if come back to area, will try a different hotel.

It was enjoyable but I feel based on other hotels that the price paid for accommodation was excessive. Other than the ferry location the downtown area of Port Angeles is very quiet and limited shopping. I appreciated the hotel allowing us to stay later into the day 2pm checkout.

Hotel and community are perfectly located for a visit to the Olympic park area.

The location is great, have stayed here before. The bed mattress needs to be replaced, it was too soft and had a deep sag in the middle. Have had several other sagging in the middle beds of late at other hotels. On the good side, was able to have an early check in time, nice front desk staff.

This hotel was comfortable, quiet and conveniently located to nearby restaurants and ferry landing. The pool was fine, but basically in the middle of the parking lot so this is not a "resort" although there is easy access to the public beach. Restaurant on-site has nice view, but no ambiance. It always frustrates me that "more expensive" hotels generally don't offer a free breakfast and this hotel is no exception.

Great location and excellent staff. Bathroom shower had extensive mold - easily wiped away, and cleaned when we requested it. But if you don't do routine maintenance to remove mold, you get permanent staining, which requires replacement of the entire grout and caulking. Penny wise, maybe, but pound foolish, and yucky to look at!

I was pleasantly surprized as the write ups of many of the previous visitors were not very good. However our room was clean, very comfortable and afforded us a good nights sleep.

Very convenient to the ferry to Victoria. Beautiful room with a great balcony and gorgeous view. Top notch. Would have no reservations about staying there again. Great walkway along the waterfront.

Loved the spaciousness of our room! Very comfortable, great pillows! Great view. The pool was very nice but the hot tub needed to be cleaned. Funky town with lots of small eateries. Nice stopping point after the Black Ball ferry.

And the hotel was very dumpy!!! Room smelled very musty and had to keep window open so the smell didn't bother us. Bed was ok. They offered a view room for more money!!! We were right next to the maintence room and kept hearing the people slam the door as we were trying to sleep. I wouldn't stay there ever again! I expected our room to be a lot better for that price a night and for it being a red lion hotel chain!

Friendly staff, upgraded to ocean view - what a view. Quiet rooms. Could use an upgrade to the TV - old and small.

spend the extra $20 on the ocean front rooms...totally worth it! only bad thing I could think of is the on-site restaurant...we tried going our first night there (we'd had a long day of traveling & just wanted some quick food & a drink or seven), however we were ignored by the hostess for about 5 minutes while she and some of her coworkers got in some sort of a fight. We left without ever being acknowledged and gladly, we found another restaurant walking distance from the hotel right on the pier with a wonderful view of the water/sunset!

Hotel was in nice location and did offer some view rooms.Our room was clean and comfortable enough, with recently updated bathrooms. Only complaint is the lobbies, stairs, and hallways had a bad odor, weird lighting, and were outdated looking. Once in our rooms, the hotel more than adequate, but they should update these areas of the hotel since first impressions are lasting!

No refrigerator, no table and chairs in room. Price was way too high. We booked several Red Lion Hotsls and Best Western hotels on our trip. The amenities and value for price was far superior in Best Western lodgings.

It was a short night, so not too much to say

Nice area - good room & service. Wish you had another computer that was faster for guest use.
