Red Lion Hotel at the Quay - ונקובר

Was a nice inexpensive room. Thats all I needed and expected for $63.

The rooms clean, but a little out dated. Can't complain because of the great rate. It is a about a $25 cab ride from downtown Portland.

Very old, From the bed to the tv and walls.

We had a second floor King room overlooking the pool. We were in Redding for the sun and heat. This room on the "Hilltop" wing was perfect. The grounds are nicely landscaped and sitting on the small balcony off our room was like being in Hawaii. The front desk gave us this room on arrival as a better location then the pre-assigned room which had a balcony overlooking the paved parking lot. Thank you, thank you. We will return to this hotel in the future.

My family and I recently stayed for the weekend. Room was standard. View of the parking lot. Shower head was old and not properly working. We left our jackets hanging in the closet, and realized in the evening of the same day we checked out. That was Sunday. Went back, and no one was able to help us. No manager on duty. They said housekeepers don't speak English. Called back at 10pm, to speak to a manager, and was told that they didn't have access to Lost and Found. Since then, we've called, left messages, emails. NO ONE HAS RESPONDED. Cannot believe how difficult it's been. One of the worst in service...or LACK OF!

The place has been redecorated, but there are still a few things needing replacement. We were unable to plug in our phone chargers and laptop to any outlets because they were all so worn out that the plugs would not stay in. All around the room, the outlets were all loose.

Did not appreciate guest service answering personal phone while checking me in. Would prefer flat screen television? Besides that great view and great price. But would be upset if I paid regular price for the room I got

We love the uniqueness of this property. The location can't be beat and the attention to detail in the architecture is second to none. This is "old Northwest" style at its best. Don't miss the sailing ship with full rigging in the bar and restaurant. Red Lion is a great way to go - every time.

The hotel is not kept up. The cleaning staff does not get the rooms clean. This is the second visit in two years time. Both visits we found hair in the shower/tub. This current trip the door was missing the peep hole viewer, it just had an open hole where the viewer should have been. Very disturbing. When these items are brought to the attention of the hotel they agree that it is gross but do nothing about it. The location is also not the easiest location to get to.

Bed was comfy - towels were big and soft - room was clean - view was beautiful!

The Red Lion at the Quay has been there for a long time. I remember it when I was a youth. Despite the age it has been well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was slightly below average in size but many amenities, coffee maker, refrigerator, etc.... Great location, close to everything we wanted to see. Morning breakfast in the hotel restaurant look over the Columbia River was awesome.

The room was comfortable but well used, it smelled a bit musty.The train and plane noise was quite loud and frequent. The parkinglot seemed very dark.

First room had a broken aircontrol unit. However they did change us to another room when maintenace failed to fix it. That aircontrol unit was stuck at 85 but it was better than being cold so we stuck with it. It was only for one night.

The view was wonderful. Bathroom floor was dirty. Heating was hard to keep adjusted. TV was antiquated. Location was perfect for our needs.

I wont go back. It's a two star level maybe 2 1/2 on a good day. Over priced and old.

Quick easy experience

All we wanted from this hotel was a place to lay our heads during a whirlwind trip to Portland. The hotel itself was fine. Just what you would expect. The housekeeping staff was friendly enough. It was the front desk where everything fell down. We weren't greeted so much as tolerated and then the clerk started bickering with her (much more helpful) co-worker. We were glad to get out and on our way. The next morning on checkout, I would have loved to have been advised by the (otherwise innocuous) front desk clerk that there was a marathon blocking all exits to the parking lot and I may as well take a walk on the waterfront. Alas, there was no interest in going any extra mile.

Nice clean older hotel. Beautiful view of the Columbia river. Bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds ever. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel looked great from outside to lobby. The room was small and smelly. The worse thing is holes in the blankets. Expectede much better from a Red Lion.

While the location of the hotel was pristine, the condition was not. We constantly had to request a new key card as our lock would not open. This proved to be a big hassle as we were traveling with our dogs and needed to let them out to potty. The maid service was sparce. When they did clean it was our bathroom only. Out of our two beds, only one was made. Confusing. I would not stay again were I given the choice. Disappointing stay.

Nice room with access to a lovely patio.

Gotta be honest... not a great visit. We have stayed here before and it was wonderful. On this occasion it was a mess. The clerk at the desk was incredibly rude. Even when she was giving people good news she seemed as though she was yelling at them. The place was packed due to a convention next door so we couldnt find parking for about 20 minutes. The worst part was the next morning the whole place wreeked (overwhelmingly) of manure. It didnt smell outside so there was absolutely something wrong. If we had planned on staying another night I would have checked out immediately anyway. The neighboorhood seemes scketchier than last time we stayed although the nice weather brings folks out of the woodworks.

The room service was great! Very prompt - and the food was still hot . . . The only bad thing was the TV and cable system. I felt like I was in the 90's again . . . I've seen better systems in a Motel 6! Ya really need to upgrade that.

Room was very small. Older facility. Nice area with good views. Rates pretty good for the area. Room was in good condition, but the public areas were kinda run down. Probably would not stay here again.

Great location, service, and rooom condition. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Great value for price. highly recommended.

Stay was just "okay"..second key didn't work.. Asked for King bed upgrade and rec'd queen.. Clerk was nice.. room just OK..

It is located right on the Columbia river near I-5. There is a good bike path/walking/running trail to the east of the hotel. It has a good restaurant with a great view. I did have to ask for a better room location after I checked in, but they cheerfully accommodated my request.

Nice location, property is a little tired and could use some updating. Comfortable rooms, easy access to freeways.

Overall this hotel wasn't bad. It was neat to look outside and see the river and bridges, and it was really close to the airport and easy to get to. Our room was ok and generally clean. The only downside was the fridge smelled TERRIBLE, but that was luck of the draw. The other rooms our family were in didn't have that issue. The major downside to this hotel was just the noise. If you're a light sleeper or don't like loud noises I wouldn't recommend this place. You had sounds from the boats on the river, the planes from the airport, the traffic noise from the nearby bridge, the train noise from the train tracks nearby, and to top it off, the bridges would make a very loud sound when they opened for boats. They do provide earplugs for free though in case it is a little too loud for you.
