Red Lion Hotel Eureka - יוריקה

There was a lot of confusion and standing around at the reception desk. Reception had received our reservation (2 king non-smoking rooms) but could not put us in close proximity with each other, and were confounded by who would be sleeping in each of the rooms. Hotel is located on a busy, noisy street.

Surprised at the fine hotel we booked at the price we paid! Employees were great.

Room was large and clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Would return to this hotel.

Super comfortable bed. Backside of the building is very quiet. Didn't like that they charge for breakfast when the rates are already fairly high.

The mattress and bedding was wonderful!! Very soft and comfortable. Our room was very clean and everything worked well. The food and service was great, from the front desk to the lounge (had a delicious dinner) and the dining room for a scrumcious hot breakfast buffet.

3 stories... Could hear runnin above us and hallway. Loud a/c /heater had to turn it off just so the kids could sleep. Location near the beach but not walking distance. Hotel rooms could use an update. Shower/ bathroom could b cleaner. But hotel was probably one of the best in the area.

From the time I walked in the room to check out was the best experience I've ever had in a hotel. The staff was friendly, room service was perfect (food was delicious) and the bedroom was clean clean clean with OMGoodness soft as a cotton ball bed. Really, my husband and I enjoyed our overnight stay and will be back SOON!

Hallway smelled musty and old. This hotel accepts pets and we had a dog across the hall that barked. Ordered room service and were disappointed-fries were like they were cooked in old oil but the girl at the front desk was nice enough to comp the meal for us.

It was very clean, and tidy.

My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting my sister and brought my dog. I understand that my room choices may be affected by the dog, of course. However, we were put in a room right next to the hotel bar. Friday night was jazz night which only went til 10:30, but drunk people yelling up and down the halls apparently went much longer. Saturday night was karaoke and went until 1AM! Finally, at 11 I called the front desk and asked to be moved, which we were, to a much quieter room down the hall- why weren't we already there? And our bathroom was handicapped, which I respect but the shower water got all over the floor as there was no wall or lip to catch water so you had to go to the bathroom barefoot or else you'd be soaked... Probably wont stay here again.

Staff was friendly. Morning buffet breakfast was adequate. Bed was comfortable. Coffee pot in room had not been washed. The hotel decor is outdated, but I was there for a two night stay at a great rate in a close location to downtown, so the decor and coffee pot were not a big deal to me. What WAS a big deal was the fact that the power went out FOUR times on our second night and again the next morning. When I inquired with one of the staff ----- in the dark hallway --- about the power issue, she smiled, shrugged her shoulders and said it was something that just happens all the time over there. Nobody seemed concerned that it was an inconvenience for the guests. For THAT reason, I will not stay there again.

This was my first time staying here. It is not too far from Arcata and Humboldt State. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Karaoke night was very entertaining! Worth staying here!

The coast is always beautiful whether it is raining or foggy but this hotel made it worth it! Only issue is the busy street behind the hotel alot of screaming and horns going off.........but what do ya say?........"it"s a hotel". We are planning on going back........staying on the front side.......

After a long deive we ended up getting to the hotel early before our checkin time. They were very nice and accommodating and got us an exception to check in early so we could sleep.

We chose this hotel over cheaper nearby options specifically because it had a jacuzzi tub at the pool, and we wanted a hot soak after a long drive. We were disappointed to find the tiniest spa you ever saw - 2 person max - and it wasn't hot at all, merely warm. Not worth putting on our swim suits.

This hotel was close to the location we were visiting and had easy access to the highway. The morning breakfast was very adequate for the price.

There were a lot of homeless and transient people on the street at night in the vicinity of this hotel. As a result people going out during the evening should plan on either driving or taking a taxi. Hotel front desk staff also suggested this during my stay.

The room was comfortable but there was no coffee or breakfast offered. The man who checked us in was very nice.

We stayed at the Red Lion Hotel during a return road trip from Portland OR to the SF Bay Area. The hotel is an older property and has some wear and tear. The room was very large and the bed was quite comfortable. The hotel is pet friendly which is the primary reason we decided to stay at this property.

On arrival the desk clerk was standing in front of the doors smoking. I believe CA law says no smoking within 10 yards of a door. This was unprofessional and your guests shouldn't have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get in to the hotel. We should have been told that the room was actually close to another door instead of having to walk most of the way down the building. The room was larger than usual, but nothing had been done with the space. There was a king sized bed, a small desk and one easy chair. No second chair, no table, no coffee table, no couch. But the bed was comfortable and there was a smallish flat screen TV. In a smaller room it would have been OK, but in this larger room the smallish TV was sub standard. I actually wish I hadn't bothered paying extra for the larger room now. The bathroom was fine, there were two sinks so we didn't have to work around each other. But all in all I'd go somewhere else next time.

The Red Lion is clean and comfortable. The beds are extremely comfortable which is a big plus. It is good value for the money. The hotel is very quiet.

The hotel all together was extremely nice experience. I have stayed at the Best Western on 5th street before and I will say that I am completely disappointed I didn't stay at the Red Lion. They have Huge rooms. Super comfy!

Red Lion in Eureka is ideally situated to whatever area activities one may plan. The hotel is presently in the midst of renovation work, which will increase efficiencies once complete but a little dust in the office area for now.

Our family had a long drive from Central Valley, we were all tired. Stopped by and dined at a restaurant in downtown Eureka. We made reservation 20 minutes prior to check in.. with Ipad...NICE...Hotel was clean, kids had a good time at the pool after a long trip. Free breakfast would be nice with price of the room...overall, satisfied ! we will stay there again...plenty of parking.

The employees were very friendly. However, the food in the restaurant was the worst we have ever had. The prime rib was rancid, which we did not eat. We should have known better when we showed up at 6:00 pm, and there was absolutely nobody else in the restaurant.

We recently stayed for one night and I have to say the hotel is a good value for your money. It is conveniently located and staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Maybe could need a little renovation in the distant future but overall good choice to stay for one night!

Staff was very friendly and helpful as well as patient.

Red Lion's employees were very nice and polite. For the location of this hotel I'd say we received 5 star service! Definintly will stay here again!

The hotel was better than I expected, being in a town with such... character as Eureka. The room smelled how I imagine the 70s smelled, that could be good or bad it's up to you. The toilet was excellent, lower than usual allowing for good body mechanics. Though it might pose a problem for the elderly or people with mobility issues. My only real gripes were with the pillows that were as thick as a set of playing card, and the AC unit that sounded like a 747 taking off.

Nothing special, just nice, clean, comfortable & convenient for an overnight road stop. a little bit more than economy motels, but worth the upgrade. Not a place to hang out, but a great base of operations for visiting the Eureka area.

Very nice hotel, great location; close to everything in town and great places north and south for day trips.

The hotel itself is in need of upgrading (especially the room bathrooms), but overall very clean, comfortable and nice.

Too much traffic cogestion.

Had some other choices in Eureka but were more expensive. I think we got good value for our stay. Luggage carts were always available. I liked that there were two vanities, both in and outside the bath. Fridge comes with room. TV was huge/new, comes with the good stations. The Hot Tub was teeny (3 people max) and was really well used. Pool was nice. This is right across from the Chalet House of Omelets which we didn't get to try but comes highly rated on other sites. Staff were friendly rooms clean. This location could use an upgrade though. Everything was cleaned and it smelled fine. Just some additional lipstick would help that's all.

Considering hotel was booked solid we did not notice too much noise around us. My two small dogs slept comfortably and performed well the following days at their agility trial.
