Staff not very helpful. Price you quoted us included all taxes, and shuttle to the airport, but they charged us 40 Euro for airport transfer in their own van packed with other hotel guests, and added 12 euro taxes. The bed was too soft and sank to the floor when we lay down on it, causing my husband's back to go out, and caused him considerable pain. The room was like a dungeon, dark and gloomy. I would rate this a 2** , not a 4**** as advertised by you.

Good points: very quiet as we were on the top floor (although room and bed vibrated whenever a bus/large vehicle drove by!). Lovely bathroom and we slept exceptionally well. Hotel is located a stroll from the Vatican in a quiet neighbourhoood. Bad Points: Shabby, old-fashioned decor and poor breakfast (limited and basic for a 4 star hotel), staff were OK. BEST THING WAS FREE AIRPORT PICK UP! Not a 4 star hotel.

Have no complaints whatsoever about our stay, good value for money, good location with great restaurants in the locality and the Vatican and metro stop within a few mins walk. Ignore complaints about noise in other reviews, it was very minimal. However, be aware that the information restrauntthe with the view off St Peters Bassillica is actually at a sister hotel around the corner, not in this building. You can still reserve at reception if you like so so big deal of this is an attraction for you.

Hotel is small but friendly. As hotels go in Rome, it's perfectly situated for sightseeing. We walked everywhere from the hotel. It's very close to the Vatican & a metro station. Staff are helpful. If u like modern fancy hotels this hotel is not for you, if you just need a good base then I highly recommend this hotel. Free pick up from the airport is a huge bonus, had to pay going back to the airport but when u have a buggy it is worth paying to avoid the stress. Breakfast was basic, but considering prices in Rome it is good value at 9 euro, room is small but there is a second room if needed. I have never seen a city so full of tourists so restaurant workers in general are a little rude, it's like they know they don't need to be nice because they will fill seats anyway. Also always check prices before you order food/ ice cream and check your receipt & change too, tourists are fair game in Rome! But don't be put off, it's a fantastic city, just be aware.

It was okay; staff could have been more helpful. Room was clean and the view from the roof was awesome. We would stay there again now that we know how to get around.

This hotel has a 4-star rating? It should be not more than 3-star. The room I booked was suposedly a superior one. Well, it had a very uncomfortable bed with its mattress at floor level, no shower, only one stright-backed chair. extremely poor lighting. The only plus to this room was a totally private roof-level patio.

Older hotel, but very good condition. Near Vatican, great location. Restaurants in area are very good and not expensive. Only complaints are that Wi-Fi is only free for first 5 minutes and it can be hard to get an iron if needed.

Loved our stay there. Perfect.

This was our first trip to Rome. We picked the hotel due to positive ratings and its location on the map close to the Vatican, as well as its room offering. We were pleasantly surprised at just how close to the Vatican it is as well as being located close to the Metro and on a bus route to the Collesium. The hotel was about 1.5 miles from John Cabot University, an easy walk. The room we had held three beds, good for our familiy of four. No one had to suffer sleeping on a pull out sofa! The registration desk staff was not much help with local information; however, the bartender in the hotel more than made up for it. We visited with Andreas every night winding down our day and he gave us practical how-to-get-around advice, as well as sights worth seeing from the perspective of a local. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The room is meant for just sleeping, it is not set up for work or hanging out in, but since we were in town to see the sights it was perfect for us!

Disappointing stay. Small elevator. Noisy location with poorly sealed windows. Needs some maintenance done. Poor amenities(ie. 1 wine opener for the entire hotel! with only person having access). We were expecting a 4 star establishment, but did't feel we stayed in one.

The Hotel is a short walk to the Vatican, Metro station, other historical places of interest and also close to meeting point for guided tours. The room was clean and tidy and had a lovely roof top garden to relax with a glass of wine after a long day of tours. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will visit again next time in Rome.

I did not like to pay 6 euro in top of the expensive room price, even though it is city tax. The price of the room should be all included, instead of getting an extra bill when we arrived. We planed on leaving after one day because og this. Then the manager offered to pay breakfast the rest of the days. But we found the hotel beeing at a trafically spot, the toilet broke down and we did not have a feeling of good comfort for the price, so we left after one night.

You can tell it used to be a pretty nice hotel but it is run down now. Beautiful cherry doors and trim but now wallpaper coming off the walls, doors barely hanging on with poor repairs, fixtures with finishes completely rubbed off, chips on tub and tile floors, mold on shower curtain and leaky facuet. Location was great with easy access to trains, shopping and Vatican. Staff was friendly but not overly accomodating. Asked for a wake up call and never received one.

Loved Atlante Star, Fabulous service. Good breakfasts spent looking at the Vatican Dome of St Peters.. Could only fault size of bath far too small and lack of tea/coffee making facilities in room. Would recommend and revisit.

Cannot recommend. Mildew on bathroom walls, Dirty air filters, Jetted bathtub malfunctioned

The Atlantic Gardens is a little bit of a paradox. Its in a great location -- three blocks from the Vatican, and most of the rooms are small, but well appointed, and for the money (have you looked at prices in Rome???!) is a good buy. The neighborhood is not particularly attractive (busy residential street), and sometimes the noise at night is a bit intrusive. But the staff is helpful. Breakfast is good.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Room was bit smaller than what we expected. The staff were helpful and courteous. The location is superb for the Vatican area.

The hotel was in a great central location, especially for the vatican. It was also easy and cheap to catch a bus to other locations. The rooms were large and comfortably accommodated 3 adults. The front desk was very helpful and all unstood english. The breakfast service didn't offer too much variety and there were no coffee makers in the roooms. Also, if you are driving, the parking is off site and cost 30 euros a day. It took 35 minutes to get our car after checkout.

NOT ANY COMFORT AMENITIES LIKE KETTLE FOR TEA, FELT DECEIVED BY THE REVIEWS AND PICS BECAUSE THIS WAS NOT THE ATLANTE THAT HAD A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE BASILICA. THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR AT ALL BUT AND OLD AND DINGY HOTEL. BUT I MUST SAY THE PEOPLE AT THE FRONT DESK WERE WARM HELPUL AND FRIENDLY.

The Alante garden is a nice hotel in an excellent location. The hotel staff was very thoughtful and the maid service was excellent. The breakfast room is small and the food was good but limited selections, but it was good value for the price. The front desk and bellman could not do enough to make our stay more pleasurable. The best part is the shuttle from the airport . They were on time and waiting for us. This is a savings of 75 euro and a great service. I would use Alante garden next time in Rome

Quite a satisfactory stay at Atlante Garden Hotel. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. What was particularly good about this hotel was that there was a late check-in option, which suited our needs, as we had a late flight in. The location was good - St Peters cathedral and museum were very close by. The immediate neighbourhood of the hotel was not very interesting but upon a short walk towards the cathedral, there are some shops and cafes. The hotel room itself was quite good, and kept clean, although with some refurbishing or renovations it could be done up nicely (the carpets could be renewed for example). The room smelt fresh or neutral, which was good, and had all desired amenities such as AC and hairdryer. The bathroom was very clean, but the bathtub had some deep cuts to the bottom. The shower was ok. The breakfast was satisfactory - bread-rolls, cheese and meats, boiled eggs, fruit (watermelon usually), cereals and yoghurt, and some sort of pastries either croissants and some kind of cake. Of course they had coffee and tea and juice. Definitely no need to leave the hotel hungry. Quite a satisfactory stay for the price we paid and would recommend it to others. Next time however, it might be nice to stay closer to the citys hub, just for a change. We give the hotel a satisfactory 4 stars.

This hotel is OLD. The room was very very dark. The decor from yeons ago. The front staff decent enough. The breakfast was nice. But I don't think I could stay in such a dark room again. Despite the location to the Vatican. It was many blocks from the train station too which was hard on my Mother (esp in the rain).

I would stay here again. The rooms were nice, though somewhat cramped by US standards. The staff were always courteous and helpful. The breakfast was always excellent. The hotel is just a few blocks from the Vatican which is why we stayed there. The hotel is on a bus line, and, other bus lines are just a block away. For the fruegel, a small grocery is just a block away.

I had a very good experience here - we got a room with a hidden balcony. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. The concierge was also very helpful!

The hotel staff - professional, helpful & friendly. The location is the best - 5 minutes to the Vatican & good transport link to other major sites. I will recommend this hotel because of the above and the free pick up from the airport. Excellent.

When we arrived at the hotel (free pickup at airport was very convenient), we were surprised at just how close it was to St. Peters Square. This is on one hand convenient because it is a quiet street and very close to anything you need (transport to all city sites), but on the other hand made the area extremely expensive (most places charge you ridiculous prices for food and drink - $5 for a soda!!). The room was nice, not spacious (but what European room is spacious?). We were surprised to have a small porch in our room, but just as surprised not to have an in room safe (had to use the one at reception) and not to have an iron with a board in the room (you had to call for one every time you needed it). The air-conditioning system in the room was very good (not a given in Europe), and the room was clean. The concierge was welcoming, spoke good English and all in all very helpful.

Nice clean hotel in walking distance from Cathedra Petri and the local Metra station. The rooms are small but clean and nice. There’s some noise from the main road from 6 in the morning until late in the evening so please ask for at room that are not placed directly to the main street if possible. Breakfast absolutely acceptable including fresh fruit, bread and much more. The staff there is polite and helpful from day one. Practical info: The airport shuttle is free but info ONE WAY. Write to the hotel and make pick up arrangements at Terminal 1-2 or 3. Using the shuttle back to the airport costs 40 Euro. Therefore take the public airport shuttle place 10 blocks from the hotel (10 min walk). There’s a bus going directly to the airport for 8 euro – 40 min. The reception can help you with into and the time schedule. There's also a shopping street around the corner. Overall a very nice Italian style hotel with a great location.

Atlante Garden Hotel is an excellent location for experiencing Rome and the Vatican. I do wish however that these hotels have affordable internet access. This however is the norm in Europe.

We arrived in Rome late afternoon with temperatures of 34c. The minibus arrived and whisked us to the hotel where we were glad to be taken downstairs to the subterranean lobby, nicely cooled...the hotel looked smart, but well used, slightly past its former glory. Our room was pleasant, the spa bath looked old (so much so we didn't dare turn it on, and the AC didn't work (despite the staff insisting it was) so we had a very warm damp sleep! The staff were very helpful though, allowing us to store luggage the following day and charge our mobile phone when we returned to collect. We would definitely stay again as the location was great however we would want to check the AC was working next time!

We truly enjoyed our stay. The people were very helpful. One small issue - spare bed for 3rd person rather uncomfortable. Nice breakfast, overall good value.

Our room was perfect; it was clean, comfortable, and the air-conditioner worked great. The staff wasn't rude or mean, but they weren't overly nice either. We would recommend this hotel.

If you have the budget, this place is worth the stay. Close to the vatican and also near the Metro (which will take you to rest of the tourist HOT points to see.). There are some nearby restaurants and pizzeria (remember this is centro, prices are a bit high). The hotel itself is comfortable to relax after a long day of walking and touring. A little loud once the morning time is done, it is right by the main street.

Atlanta Garden was a reasonably convenient hotel and provided a nice clean, comfortable and secure room. Biggest issue was the lack of wifi service in the room. It could be used easily in common areas though. Other minor issues included no towels in the room upon our arrival, a broken cabinet door and the lack of a bottle opener which was required for some of the items in the mini fridge.

Room was small but clean - second day, got an upgrade to a slightly bigger room, which was great - there was a small store located around the back of the hotel and the room had a small refrigerator, so we were able to keep some snacks available - would definitely stay here again if I got the upgraded room

when i first saw the pics of the hotel on the internet it seemed nice,but i must say in my opinion this hotel hasnt got the qualities of a 4 star hotel.ive stopped in 2 star hotels and i think this is more of a rating that should be given.my room was very clean,compact ,the furniture was out dated,the decor was dark and dull,the room had no safe.so i dont know how it got a 4 star rating

Lovely hotel, beautiful decor throughout and very friendly staff. Hotel bar a little pricey. Fantastic location, about 5 mins walk to Vatican and 10 minutes to Vatican museum. Would definitely use this hotel again.

The hotel was very quaint, quiet, and close to all of the attractions. The hotel location was GREAT. Everything was within easy walking distance. This included the attractions, Metro, Shopping, the Market, and eating establishments. The air-conditioner worked great, people were nice and more importantly the price was affordable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone. Actually, my family and I will book with this hotel or its sister hotel again next year.

Nice, understated hotel with decent breakfast (not free). Well situated for Rome visitors. No ubiquitous wi-fi in the rooms. Room small and beds a little soft but staff pleasant and good value for money

We enjoyed our stay, although beds were a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast was nice, it would have been a head ache to find breakfast each morning. It was nice to just start our day having already eaten. The room was nice and cleaned everyday. Staff was kind and polite. Clean towels given everyday. Close to the metro and buses. Best Gelato across from Vatican also, which wasn't to far from the Hotel.

Stayed at this hotel over Easter and although it did the job regarding location, comfortable beds, price and service/friendly staff it could not be rated as your normal 4 star hotel. Rooms are noisy from 24 hour street traffic, need of redecoration and there is no rooftop dining area as highlighted on the website.
