Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel - סנטה מוניקה

We had an excellent stay in Santa Monica and this hotel was perfectly situated on the beach. We made the most out of a romantic weekend and the hotel accommodated, however, we were first sent to a room with a view of ocean street, which is all construction and noise. Had we been required to stay there, we would have found a new hotel. The staff were very polite and helpful and moved us to the first floor on the beach side which was quite awesome. The bed was super comfortable, but the room was horribly maintained with no mini bar and super old and dreadful worn out towels. The fire pits at the lounge offered a great view for dinner and drinks, but the service was basically non existent. The hotel was OK, but I think we could have done a lot better for the price. After all, the beach and Santa Monica provide the real entertainment, not the hotel. Hopefully we can find a good one on the beach with a nice bed and not nearly three bills a night.

It was horrible! The receptionist, Mercedes was not customer friendly at all! The furniture in the lobby area was dirty, dingy and not 5 star quality. The remote for the TV was dirty and warned. The carpet had spots and stains. Totally disappointed! I have been pleased with 4 star hotels such as Hilton, Marriott , Sheraton etc.

I booked a Superior King room, which meant a partial ocean view. I was told they were "sold out" of King rooms. If we wanted a King bed it would be on the 3rd floor, with scaffolding blocking any view (there was ongoing construction). If I wanted a view, it would mean 2 double beds. We asked for a manager, who managed to find us a King bed with a partial view. Great! Except this room had a door adjoining another room. Not a big deal until our neighbors checked in late at night. That's when we discovered that you could hear EVERYTHING going on in the room next door, down to the zipping and unzipping of their luggage (you can imagine which other, much more intimate activities we overheard in graphic detail). Did I mention their 5 a.m. wake-up call, and the pocket door in our bathroom that inexplicably rattled whenever another room's door slammed? But that's not all! There was a huge ball of hair just lying on the carpet, like someone had cleaned off a hairbrush and just dumped it in the middle of the room. No idea how housekeeping missed it. Also, each room has a Keurig coffee maker, but when we asked for more K-cups they said they ran out. Um, OK. The only reason I gave this hotel 2 stars instead of 1 is the location, which is stellar. But we are the busy parents of young children; our fondest wish on this night away was a good night's sleep, and on that count it was a miserable failure.

The Loews Hotel is beautiful and well located, BUT after spending almost $400 per night, then to be charged an extra $37/night to park my car and to be charged $10/minute to use the computer in the Business Center is insane!!! Also, the first night at the hotel we had NO hot water for the shower!!! This is the only hotel I know of, in this price range that has only double-sized beds in the room instead of having at least Queen-sized beds??? Pretty poor for this type of hotel at these prices!!! Would not recommend!

This is not a party location but is great to enjoy the SoCal pacific coast.

The location is EXCELLENT. The rooms are crummy: old, musty, reminiscent to a cheap motel. For the price I paid I rather would have stayed at the other nearby hotels.

Pricey, but the quality of the service and food was well worth it.

Loews Santa Monica is the perfect spot for families with kids of all ages to stay to enjoy LA. Conveniently located steps from the beach and pier, a short walk to the 3rd Street Promenade shopping, 2 pleasant miles via walking and bike paths to Venice, and near on-ramps to the 1 and the 10 freeways make the trip to LA easy to navigate. Was disappointed that you have to pay nearly $12 for Internet per day (that's per device -- not so good for families with multiple laptops and/or iPads), but it does keep people off the Internet and out having fun instead!

Great hotel at the beach, pleasant staff, good food. The swimming pool gets quite crowded. Near the center of Santa Monica. Not too expensive considering it's location.

Though I had requested an ocean view, I ended up with a room that was half underground in a corner of the pool patio. My view was of dirt and concrete. There was no ice maker on my floor and the sound wasn't working on my pay channels so I had to call maintenance. Also, the air conditioning never really cooled the room to a completely comfortable level. Oh, and the room service breakfast for two was VERY expensive (but delicious). All that aside, the staff, from the front desk to the maintenance guy, were all really friendly and actually made up for all the negatives. I would, however, stay at a more affordable place next time.

The only thing Lowes could have done is improve the weather...and who knows if i only asked? Kidding aside this was my wifes birthday peresent from me and she was happy therfore happy B-day it was. A young hispanic professional man at front desk with black rim glasses deserves first for me to remember his name and second credit for our awesome time and sure to return, thanks to you sir it was all good.

I stayed at Loews for one day and night on my way into the US when embarking on a ski trip in Utah. Check in and out was quick and easy which was great seeing as I was only there for 24 hours. The lobby where I sat and worked through the afternoon was very pleasant with great views out onto the beach, a welcoming fireplace and enjoyable soundtrack. The pool area is very nice with lots of seating that looks out over the beach, ocean and Santa Monica Pier. My room was very clean and functional but a little dated, the bed was very comfy and I had a great nights sleep. All In all a very good experience and I would definitely stay here again and advise others too also. For breakfast take a walk to Cafe Crepe on the corner of 3rd and Broadway.

Great location, great hotel. I thought they gave us the worst room in the hotel, it almost seemed we were punished for using hotels.com. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Would never have booked there if known that it is under construction,totally overpriced .

Not a very nice room. The bathroom was a handicap bathroom. The bathroom door had open wooden slats which did not give you much privacy. The scaffolding in front of the window was terrible. We should have been informed about that BEFORE we signed up. We would never have stayed there at all. And it was not exactly cheap. At check-in we were told that we had been "upgraded", I wonder what the previous room was like if this was an upgrade. They said that there were no other rooms we could move into that first night, but maybe they could move us later on. But why would we want to move once we had settled in.

Bautifull hotel on Santa Monica beach. Lovely loby. Great location. Rooms are clean, although they are dated.

The hotel was under renovations and there was a ot of scaffolding over the scenic part of the property.I would have selected another hotel if I would have known. The highlight was a great concierge that exceeded our expectations.

Hotel is under construction right now, so stay away. Scaffulding is over the pool, construction noise during the day, etc. My room smelled horribly of paint. I was moved to another room, which also smelled of paint. This is normally a great hotel, just stay away during the construction.

ON arrival I was surprised to find that the room had scaffolding surrounding it but we needed to change for a meeting and so had to use it with the understanding that we would be switched in return.When we returned we found that our room had been upgraded and our baggage was waiting for us. Very classy. Thank you Excellent Service.

Great hotel in a great location. Absolutely well above the rest!!!

Nice room. I feel they charged to much for the room. I had a nice view of the hotel wall next door. Also they were doing costriction so no use of our balcony.

Always love staying at the Loews for the location and the service. Great view from our suite although a bit small for a suite. Place is finally getting a much needed face lift. Too bad it was right when we were staying there. Valet parking at 36$ seems a bit steep for LA

Price agreed with Hotels.com was high for room and taking into consideration all the renovation work etc however was given a room upgrade and staff were excellent and attentive. Hotel in shabby area of town!

Great hotel, perfect location. Our view was awesome as well. Only complaint was that they charge to use the gym! It was only $10/day but you are already paying a premium to stay there, you would think they would have had that included! The staff was all friendly and helpful as well.

Hi from Australia...I was very upset with the position of the room as the only reason I booked and paid ( for me) a large amount was that I was on a high floor with full ocean view...I phoned the reception and they told me that they could move me but would be city view. I am soooo upset as it was my last night in the US and just had to put up with it.......you can get back to me with your thoughts as well on that situation

It was clean and service was pretty good for business travel

We had a wonderful honeymoon and the staff and hotel were fabulous!

staff was outstanding, the hotel itself was very nice in a great location. I was also happy with the value.

Beautiful location on beach, easy access through front secure gate. Walk to iconic pier and patrolled beached. Shops all walking distance. Out of L.A central so add costs of taxi to holiday but don't regrett staying by sea.

Had business in LA and stayed two nights. Easy access to airport - no highways needed. Great location, service, outdoor bar, pool and beach right outside your door. Santa Monica has lots going on. Rented bikes and cruised the bike path. Easy drive to LA as long as you give enough time for traffic. Great king size bed - had to negotiate for it because they are not guaranteed for Hotels.com travellers - and good service. This is my "go to" LA hotel.

Great stay...Service from registration to end of stay was suberb! The workout faciltiy was clean and staff provided wonderful recommendations.The hotel location was perfect and will stay again very soon!

It was good BUT we did ask for a room at the top and was given a room at the bottom. It was like being in a hole in the ground. Also we got there at 3.30pm after a long flight from Australia and our room was not ready. Thinking of staying elsewhere next time. Regards James..

When we checked in they put us in a lower level room it was small and had a huge wall around our small patio. Went back to the front desk and asked for another room, they didn't have one available immediately but said if we wanted to wait they could move us. The next room they put us in was wonderful it was higher up, with a city view. The poolside area is steps from the beach. Thanks Loews for taking great care of us, everyone was extremely busy because it was the holiday weekend but nothing was too much trouble, loved this hotel but most of all the staff. Highly recommend.

an active construction site across the street. All the street side rooms are noisy from 7am and the hotel does not upgrade your room to avoid the noise although they have plenty of rooms available through out the hotel
