For the price you pay, it is a great hotel.

The rooms are advertised as having Queen sized beds--they were actually doubles. Staff were friendly and helpful. Noisy location. Breakfast was mostly pastries

My spouse and I stayed in this hotel for business, and it was a typical cheap hotel, but our major stipulation was finding a reasonably priced hotel with free wifi. We were sorely disappointed. The wifi signal was extremely weak and wavered between barely-there to nonexistent. We attempted several times to connect while it showed up, but it kept prompting for a password. The one the clerk gave us was not working. When we contacted the desk, they were very unhelpful, and said to keep trying to connect. Well, with the code not working and the signal repeatedly disappearing, you can't keep trying anything when there is no signal to connect to! We ended up having to use the data on our phone to connect to the internet for the duration of our trip. We regretted not spending the extra money on a nicer hotel and would not choose this hotel in the future.

we were very pleased wiith our accommodations. Liked the little kitchenette area where we could prepare eats for ourselves.Staff was very helpful when we had problems with our computer. Easy access to and from the airport which was very important to us! Enjoyed the surroundings and the good weather which mother nature provided!

You get what you pay for with this stay. While the service is adequate, every thing else fails. The elevator is questionable, the entire building has a hint of cigarette smoke, the neighborhood is sketchy, and it's on a busy road. Topping it all off, there's a bar patio just below that gets pretty rowdy at night. Worst sleep I had during a six day road trip. Unless your really trying to cut costs, do yourself a favour and find a different place to stay.

Comfortable, clean, friendly, good price and close to all city signts and restarants.

Quite excellent for the price, clean, well-kept, convenient. The hotel had a liquor store, a pub and a fantastic diner for breakfast. It wasn't fancy but for that kind of money it was perfect.

Not right downtown, but close to a number of attractions. Rooms are samll but clean, continental breakfast an added bonus. Good place to stay if you are not spending all your time in the room.

Great Staff

I must say that the Front Desk staff were friendly, available & efficient. Met all my needs.

The room was clean but that's about it. The front desk staff was awesome! The elevator was barely working, the pillows were literally paper thin, the bed was rock hard. The twin type heating/cooling systems they have in the windows are convenient but are not sealed in and there fore you hear the traffic all night (main road) and smell the exhaust (stop light right outside our window) from the traffic most of the night. This was our second stay there and while the cleanliness was impressive, the staff was so friendly and professional, we appreciated the continental breakfast too. We won't stay there again because the down side was more impacting.

I thought the bed was difficult to fall asleep on, however my girlfriend didn't seem to have a problem. Other than that, free breakfast and a clean room made it good.

Great location, basic continental breakfast - but good, quiet, clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Elevator could be bigger. This was our second stay and we will stay again. Excellent service.

Pleasantly surprised. Great prices, great diner next door.

It was great. We had stayed here a few years ago for the World Curling and found it excellent then as well.

staff very friendly.i stay at this location most of the time when in victoria.

Breakfast room too small, reception very friendly and efficent. Road noise excessive could do with triple glassing and no aircon built into window.

clean room, clean lobby, hard to find needs exterior maintenace, dont expect much from the cable t.v., liked the eco-friendly "keep the same sheets and towels for your stay", overall for the price it was good

the breakfast was nice and there was lots of food....the rooms were comfy

Room and service was satisfactory. Continental breakfast could be improved though. View from window overlooking lower roof was not a pleasant site as litter really needed a cleanup. Did mention this to clerk when checking out...Otherwise certainly satisfied with Hotel.com rate!!!

Economical, convenient, good front of house staff

Very enjoyable. Staff were very friendly. In house restaurant was good plus there is a family restaurant across the street. Traffic noise was at a minimal and almost non existent at night. The room was very clean and comfortable. the only drawback was that there wasn't a balcony.

the hotel has been updated fairly recently, and it was located perfectly central to everything in downtown Victoria. We had a car, but perfect for anyone walking or bussing. Hotel staff were very helpful and were as accommodating as they could be. They have late check out at 1:00 for a fee, for those who need a little extra time to vacate. overall this hotel served it's purpose nicely.

The hotel was clean but the building was old which had creaking noise on the floor.The receptionist was friendly and was able to guide us appropriately on our visit to tourist attractions.Our table lamp did not work and the washroom did not have a wash basin fitted inside (typical old design) which was little inconvenient.But falls short of class when compared to Quality Inn in terms of value.Nothing to complain, worth trying.

very pleasant.always stay at super 8 because its convenient for my needs.

good for the price

Our front dest attendant, Hugh, was so helpful. We were directed to an excellent local restaurant and then advised what else to do locally as we awaited our ferry from Victoria, BC, to Port Angeles, WA.

Being next to the street was noisy. Location was great from downtown Victoria and convenient with only 1 bus to take. Clean and better food than the Super 8 in Vancouver. I was thankful that you had laundry facility. Rates were super for those with a tight budget.

Clean and affordable hotel 10 minutes from downtown. Good size and comfortable rooms. Hotel appearance needs some updating. Front desk employee friendly and helpful. Public bus stop to downtown in front of hotel.

Super 8 is going down in quality, but it was what you expect for what you pay. Clean room, lots of parking. I'd call it a decent value

It's noisy.

People were friendly and service was great can't be the price.

We live in Vancouver and brought a cousin visiting us from Johannesburg to see some of Victoria, where we were born, and to visit other cousins he had never met before. The location was great. We were out most of the time but thought we had great value for our money. Breakfast was ample and good. The employees were all helpful and pleasant. On the last morning, our cousin checked out and was waiting for us in the lobby, when the maid came and found him to return his phone adapter that he had left in the room.

Our stay we ok but this Super 8 is definitely overpriced. We have stayed at Super 8's here in British Columbia and also in the western United States and this location was the most expensive (even after the conversion to US funds). The continental breakfast was ok but not to the standards we are used to at all of their other locations. For the age of the hotel they are certainly not in the same league as their locations regarding price and the breakfast. The picture of the front of the hotel on the web showed planters with flowers whereas the planters had no flowers and in fact were full of weeds. We would not stay here again.

The braekfast every mornig only with sweet food is boring and to eat out of paperstaff I don´t like that. Too much garbage. The breakfastroom is not inviting. I prefore to eat alone in my room with porzelaneplate and cup.

OK for a one night stay.

It was O.K. The rugs in my room were dirty and discusting.. The room is definitely in need of a make over. The staff and customer service was good. The restroom was one of the worst in all my travels - dated, and the food was horrible. I didn;t eat it, paid for it and left and went across the strees to the ABC Restaurant which was much better.However the price was right.

very accomodating and helpful staff

Rooms nicely furnished for hotel in this price range, good continental breakfast, clean room, water pressure so-so. Visitors to Victoria should note it's about a 30-35 minute walk into inner harbour area (estimate only) (there may be a city bus that will take you in in about 5-10 minutes). Room had fridge, microwave and toaster as well as dishes and sink - very handy for those wanting to save a bit. If you want to be right downtown Victoria near tourist attractions, this may not be the place for you. If you don't mind a walk, short drive, or city bus (check about this - we walked), this is fine. Area not great but we didn't feel unsafe. If you are a light sleeper, this hotel is on busy road (as are many in this price range.) Didn't bother us. Overall, we were satisfied and would stay again.

The pillows shou be thicker, somehow it was too thin, but when you put twoo together it gets uncomfortable.
