Somerset Hills Hotel - וורן

Third time I've stayed here in two years. This is my go to when I'm in the area because it's convenient to some nearby business. It's getting a little dated, but not in dire need of an upgrade.

Cheapest hotel in the area and very convenient to major interstates (I-78 and I-287). Sufficient

The hotel was clean, service was good, and has character but it needs to be updated. The bathroom is old and so is heating unit. The food was ok at best. I did expect it to be better. So i would give it more stars if it wasn't for the food and room.

I love the Hotel, and for the most part it is very clean. Although in the bathroom of 238 the vanity has water damage and it has mold on it. The privacy curtain was taken down (Maybe to clean) but never put back on the sliding glass door. I also noticed at the ice machine, the garbage can has not been empted in 3 weeks. Out the back of the hotel, you see broken chairs, garbage cans, light bulbs, potted plants, broken tables thrown in the woods I go every weekend for Business. Over all, I love the hotel and will go back there.

The room was clean and comfortable and the bar (closed one evening) was quite nice. There are a couple of reasonable restaurants and a good bagel place just across the road. One warning if you don't have a car: the hotel shuttle bus wasn't running when I was there, and the taxi options in suburban New Jersey seem very limited. I asked the front desk to call me a cab and what arrived was a limo, which charged over fifty dollars to travel five miles.

Didn't try restaurant but the hotel was nice and clean and everything went smoothly.

Overall the Somerset Hills was OK. It has a nice bar and a decent restaurant. Mostly business travelers, so quiet. The BIG issue for me was the out of control heater. First day the room was 83F, opened the window, turned the thermostat off and all the way down. Heater still made an irritating humming sound. Ear plugs helped. Second day room was at 85F, and I finally figured out not only did you have to control the wall thermostat but the heater dials on the heater in the window. The heater still made that stupid noise. Will not stay there unless corporate forces me too.

Everything about this hotel is classy. Rooms are very clean. Front desk very professional and helpful. I will definitely stay again.

Overall very enjoyable, friendly ,relaxing atmosphere!

Have stayed here multiple times over the last 6 years and the facility needs some refreshing -- particularly in the bathroom, where the side of the sink cabinet appears to have suffered water damage & the lower side was delaminated.

It is a very nice hotel and a good restaurant . Tough time considering the Hurricane sandy , but all the staff handling it admirably !

Hotel staff bent over backwards to be attentive. The hotel has a great deal of potential. They should rethink their policy of allowing pets in rooms. It's tough to clean-up if one or several have an accident. If it hadn't had those symptoms; it would have been absolutely top flight.

I stayed overnight at this hotel to attend a local event. The area was very convenient, the pricing was good value for money, the room was very comfortable and the staff was friendly. It is an older property, but I was very satisfied with the cleanliness and upkeep of the room. I would stay here again when in the area.

Overpriced for what you get. Hotel is a bit old and needs an upgrade. Hotel Indigo, it's sister hotel, is much nicer and offers a complimentary breakfast package. We stayed at Indigo during Irene, but it was full during Halloween storm.

I have to travel to this area for business, and I can never get into the Courtyard Marriott nearby. Always booked. So I have ended up at the Somerset Hills more than once. This hotel is older and it is probably due for a tune-up soon. The rooms are a bit scuffed and the wallpaper is peeling and stained. I was given the handicapped room this time, and the hand-held shower unit wouldn't work for me initially. The maintenance man had to show me that I couldn't push the lever past a screw that he had put in there himself to prevent people from pushing the lever far to the right to turn the shower on! If the unit requires home-made repair, I'd say you need to replace the plumbing! The front desk folks were a little over-worked--I only saw one clerk in front at a time, and they had to work the phones, calls from guests and checking in guests--the hotel should invest in at least 2 clerks during peak hours. Nevertheless, I have no complaints about the people who work there, or their quality of service. It is as good as they can manage. I didn't use the restaurant, so can't comment on the wait staff in there. Overall, it is convenient for business travel, and I have been able to get a room each time I needed to travel to the area, and I appreciate it when my room looks out over the forest in the back--very peaceful and beautiful. So it's ok to stay there. And there's a Starbucks across the street!

The room was not very clean. It was a non-smoking room, but the terrace outside the room was littered with cigarette butts and there were weeds growing out of the cracks in the flooring of the terrace. Breakfast was OK, but the service was marginal. Reservations were made three weeks in advance, for a non-smoking room with a king size bed. When we checked in, we were told that all king size bed rooms were sold out, in spite of the advanced reservation.

The hotel is old and in need of a upgrade. It is seedy, dark and unattractive. Wall-paper is peeling, paint job lacking and overall up keep is poor. Price quoted at the desk was less than quoted by hotels.com.

breakfast buffet is very boring and it is not topped up as quickly as it should be if looked after properly by restaurant waiter, one needs to ask if there is anymore of whatever if something is very low or not present at all. Breakfast sausages and home fried potatoes are very greasy. I have been staying at the hotel at various times and find the buffet was my choice but not anymore. The chef needs to show some creativity, change and more be more health conscious about the amount of oil he is using.

Nice Hotel at a very reasonable price. I stayed here frequently 12 years ago when I had frequent business in the area. Upon returning I found the hotel to be well kept and the personnel to be very friendly and helpful. While I did not sample the restaurant, I stopped by the bar for a drink and found their collection of tap beers to be excellent.

The hotel needs a facelift. The room was comfortable but not too clean. The bed was OK, but there should be more than 3 standard size pillows on a king size bed. The bathroom needed a better cleaning. The furniture, lamps and carpet looked old and worn. The furniture was marred and hardware broken off the dresser drawer. Trim in the hallways and around the elevator need to be cleaned and/or painted. On the positive, the room was quiet.

I have stayed three star hotel many times in the past, this one is not worth whatever you are going to pay for. don't expect the room refresh and updated, don't expect the food are worth the buck. and if you are going to call the room in the morning, don't expect someone is working at the front desk. I was told that if the front desk are busy with other guests, the person don't need to pick up the phone that's what happened to me and that's best excurses they gave to me. and do your self a favor, go cross the street for breakfast or dinner, save your self money with better food..

This hotel was a wonderful getaway- nice staff, comfortable beds, nice guests. The live music on Friday and Saturday nights is also great. We really enjoyed our stay.
