Holiday Inn Express Wilkes Barre East - Wilkes-Barre

Very nice place. Near Pocono Downs Casino. Good location quiet. About 1 hour into my stay the fire alarm was being tested. This is done monthly. I felt safe and secure at this locale. Definitely will stay again.

Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by I want to say Zucia not sure spelling but beautiful professional woman of color who explained and set us up for your rewards program. I travel frequently for business and have only one suggestion. Coffee although complimentary tasted like water. Also we went passed the entrance due to sign not lit up and the tricky windy road to get there from the highway

hotel is in great shape ample parking, quiet for a good night's sleep, great workout facilities and more than adequate breakfast; no bar or dinner

We stayed at this hotel while skiing at Jack Frost. It was great because the drive wasn't too far and there were so many restaurants around the hotel that when we got back from skiing we had lots of choices for dinner without having to drive.

Overall this hotel was adequate, what we expected, the bed was not overly comfortable & the drapes didn't close so the sun wolk us early. Upon arrival the receptionist was rude, unwelcoming & had attitude which was totally uncalled for & unprofessional. The following day the rest of the staff we encountered were very nice however. The hotel is very clean. It's too bad that one staff member left a bad taste in our mouths. When we asked for a referral for a restaurant she was no help whatsoever. We ventured out to the outskirts of the town where we'd gotten off the exit & dined at an amazing restaurant called pazzo. It's a must! Our server, angelo, was fabulous & the meal was to die for!

Upon arrival, found out that the two rooms that I booked were on different floors- even though I requested them to be together. Front desk said there was nothing they could do. Rooms are very small and hard to get around in. Overall, this room is not worth the price paid. Next year when I return to Wilkes Barre, I will book a different hotel.

Clean with a beautiful view. staff was pleasant. I've had better continental breakfasts but this one was up there.

Enjoyed our stay. The AC didn't seem to cool the room very well, but we were still comfortable.

Hotel was very satisfactory in cleanliness & location, even better in service and staff courtesy. Would stay again without a second thought if planing the same route.

When I arrived there appeared to be a wedding group staying at the hotel, which sometimes can be loud. I need not have worried. I heard no noise and had a great night's sleep. My only minor gripe was that the breakfast room was standing room only. Otherwise, the night's stay was very good.

From the moment at early check-in to check-out, staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and quiet. Complimentary shuttle to casino was great. Only ten minute wait on return trip. Will definitely stay here again

The place was hard to find because the address says Highway 315 but GPS can't find that, the road is labeled Pennsylvania 315. Very clean, the staff was friendly. Would stay there again.

The room we were assigned was the smallest I have ever stayed in-especially for two people. Only one of us could move around at one time. The water came out very rusty/dirty in the bathroom sink and shower for quite awhile. The heating unit cycled about every 7 minutes and was very noisy. The staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was well prepared and tasted good. The hotel presented a very nice appearance except for some rotten apples in a bowl in the lobby sitting area . We would stay here again if necessary but I would be very explicit about the room we wanted rather than simply saying queen beds.(We actually got just one because the room was so tiny. My experience has been that when you ask for queen beds there are two in the room.) I am thinking the water situation was do to non-use and not all rooms would have this problem.

Helpful/friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet!

The location of the hotel was convenient off of I-81. Stayed 2 nights for business seminar. Facilities include nice fitness center, pool, and free breakfast. Room a little small, but sufficient for one guest. Bathroom was large enough for 2 people if needed. Large desk for computer work, although no additional lounge chair. Loved the refrigerator and microwave. Overall a very nice stay.

I arrived at 1:30am and the night desk clerk was not very friendly, but I got checked in just fine. The hotel is up on a hill with great views of the city (or the highway if you're unlucky). The rooms are smaller but well-appointed with a mini-fridge, free wifi, a clean bathroom, and a lounge chair. The bathroom is gaudy and the curtain rod was almost falling off the wall but otherwise it was fine. The real positive part of my experience was in the morning. Because I got in so late, I slept in until 9:00am and didn't get downstairs for breakfast until 9:45, 15 minutes past the official free breakfast availability. So, I figured I'd just check out and grab something at McDonalds or Hardees on the way out of town. The manager asked me how my stay was and I commented that it was good but I was hungry (hint hint). He said, we could easily fix that and immediately walked out from behind the desk and told me to come with him to the breakfast room, where he personally got me everything I wanted for a complete breakfast, even though it was in the process of being taken down. He acted like his primary job was making my stay more pleasant, something that I don't find very often. This made my day, so thank you to the management at this Holiday Inn Express.

Very friendly and courteous. We had car trouble and allowed us to stay all day in the lobby, even after check out, since we didn't have a car. Also offered to take us to near-by restaurants at meal times.

Hotel likes clean. Stayed two nights on bussines. Letf 6 am and returned 7PM, room was not cleaned, no clean towels . Called the front desk, they got me my towels but nothing was said about the room not be maid up.

Very clean room. Hotel was in good condition.

Nothing fancy about this hotel except the price. If you don't mind paying a bit more for an average property like this one, you will be happy. Our stay was comfortable, but not THAT comfortable.

The hotel is typical of the Holiday Inn Express line. It's clean, free wi-fi, and a decent free breakfast buffet in the mornings. The only issue is that the hotel is off on Highway 315, back in a cut. You see the sign from the highway but you do not see the hotel until about a 1/4 mile into the turn. I wouldn't want to look for it at night.

good clean place to stay

The hotel attendant was on the phone when we arrived - not a problem, but it was seven minutes (we counted) before she even acknowledged our presence. A simple "be with you in a minute" would've sufficed. Additionally, we'd reserved a room with a king bed, but we were told that the hotel was completely booked & we'd have to settle for two doubles. It's hard to believe that explanation - we checked in pretty late (11:00 PM) and there were about 20 cars in the parking lot. The hotel itself was very clean (if a little tricky to find), and the included breakfast was quite good (sausage, eggs, biscuits, bagels, fruit, etc). There are several dinner options in the area, including some at a mall about 2 miles from the hotel.

This was exactly what we needed: proximity to concert arena, shopping & dining. The staff is especially friendly & welcoming. Best view from our room we've had anywhere

Had a very positive experience. Got a little lost trying to find the hotel, but was assured by the reception desk that this is not unusual as is not an easy driveway to find.

Staff was very pleasant and accommodating; hotel is located in a great area, accessible to everything. Room was a little cramped. Nevertheless, would definitely return. Again, the staff was very nice.

The only other Holiday Inn Express I have stayed at was in Boston for a park and fly. Both hotels were very professional, clean, with all the amenities anyone could ask for. Very nice breakfast buffet for a light eater (yogurt)and fruit) like me, or bisquits, chipped beef, bagels, cereal for the hearty eater like my husband. Newspapers, free internet in the lobby, fresh fruit, cookies, coffee available all day. Hair dryer, fridge, exercise room... What more could you ask for?!!
