Only problem was that it's not a smoke free facility - although the common areas are. A lot of smokers use the facility that compromises the air space. I did not use the free breakfast. But overall pleasant staff that cleaned the room every day - no matter how late I stayed in the room.

Positives first: The room was clean and comfortable. My 7 year-old was very excited about the huge whirlpool tub in the room! The room also had a mini-fridge, which I am always glad to see. The staff members were very friendly during the check-in/check-out process. Now, the negatives: In the light of day, the neighborhood didn't seem bad, but I heard sirens several times as we were trying to get to sleep. It's possible that there was a speed trap in the area and that's what the sirens were about. (The hotel was right off the highway exit and it was Friday night.) The free "breakfast" also left a lot to be desired. There was only powdered creamer for the coffee and the only hot option was the ever-present waffle machine. Other than that, they had 3 unappealing cold cereal options, a sad selection of pastries, and some apples and bananas. In spite of what I just related, I would probably stay at this hotel again. Overall, it was a satisfactory stay.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise since this was my first stay at a HJ Express. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The staff at registration were polite and knowledgeable about the area. The location was only a 20 minute drive to my meetings in Philadelphia. I will stay here again on my next trip to Philly. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

From the outside hotel does not look so nice. Inside the room was nice a clean. The bathroom was fairly clean, I had to go down to walgreens and get some bathroom cleaner and clean out the hot tub and shower. I didn't mind doing this but i feel as it could have been cleaned better than it was. I still had a nice stay but i probably wouldn't stay there again.

Hotel was the same comfort as being home! Got plenty of rest during the sleep hours, whether napping or night sleep. We will be looking forward to it again some day.....................The Hobsons

Location was perfect, room was very clean, and breakfast was very nice. Both of my girls loved their Belgium Waffles. The room was nothing very fancy but was very clean and smelled fresh. No sign of any bugs either as was reported back in October!! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

4th time staying in this hotel for business purposes and will stay again, very clean and comfortable rooms.

Another satisying stay. No complaints! As usual, staff was friendly and attentive.

We have stayed here 3 times, this time we couldn't get on the Internet, the signal was too low, or really not sure why. We couldn't get the heater to work, so most of the night was spent freezing. (Feb) We were exhausted and didnt want to move - so we just kept hoping the heat would kick in. We woke to a freezing room. We did report it in the morning. Overall this stay was not pleasant. The Internet problem made many things we needed to get done impossible.

Traveled on business. Hotel was a little outdated. Multiple buildings with exterior elevators. If you are tall the shower head is going to be very low for use. Room was clean but a little musty.

My girlfriend and I have been using this hotel frequently lately whenever we are visiting the area. Staff is friendly and accomodating, rooms are clean and ample parking. Also, many rooms have either a hot tub or a Roman Tub. 24 hour WaWa adjacent to this hotel, and plenty of eateries and shops nearby. Also, the hotel is conveniently right off the highway.

My fiance and I like to run away once and a while and have extra privacy away from family, friends, roomates etc, I found this hotel on-line by accident a few months ago and we loved the Roman tub. It was a great way to relax and cuddle. We will definately be back in the future.

If there is an improvement to be made, it would be in the comp. breakfast selection. Suggestion, add a sausage pattie, eggs, biscuts. Overall very satisfied.

The room was very clean and big. I loved the larger bathroom. Would highly recommend this hotel for Family, Business and Plesure trips. Wawa is a short walk away and always open. The staff was very friendly.

I have been your customer for a few years and had good results with your bookings. I am very disapointed with this booking. After I checked in to Howard Johnson Express, Black Wood, NJ. I wanted to use the micro wave oven. However, to my dismay there were small dark brown insects crawling out of it. They appeared to look like bed bugs and the oven had dried food spots in it. I refuse to sleep in an environment of this sort. These types of bugs can get in your luggage and clothes and can be transported to your home. I packed up my things and check out. If they are in one room it is highly possible for others to be infested. I seen no need to ask for another room. I did not stay there at all. Please look in to this issue and get back to me.

A friend of mine was getting married in the Philadelphia area and I just needed a quick place to stay for 2 nights for my 11 year-old and I. Nothing fancy or expensive as we would be out most of the day. We arrived at the hotel very late but check-in went fairly quickly even though we had to use the night window (the lobby closes at night). Although you could easily see that the furniture was a bit worn, the room was clean. There was a small language issue with the housekeeping attendant who didn't quite understand that I was trying to tell her that we were changing clothes and that she should come back in an hour. That evening my son stayed over at my god-daughter's home and I returned to our room alone. Well folks, it was Saturday night and place was jumping like a trampoline in a gymnaisium. There were more shouts of "Oh God!" there than you would hear at a tent revival, if you catch my drift. Glad the little one wasn't with me at the time because I definitely wasn't prepared to have THAT discussion. But, sometimes you get what you pay for. So, if you're looking for a clean cheap place for a night or two, and you don't mind sound effects, this might be your answer. Just leave the kids home.

Huge room! Super cozy and was quieter than most motels I have stayed at. Definitely recommend this hojo to anyone passing through the area.

Facility was very well maintained, bathroom and closed were huge.

Overall, this was an amazing room. Huge jacuzzi tub, plus separate shower, in the bathroom. Large king bed in the bedroom, with two entrances - one onto the parking lot, the other facing the pool, with a small sitting area. But the WiFi was down when I arrived; the front desk said the router needed rebooting, and while it did come back up, it did so with a signal so weak as to make it worthless for any consistent work. So, if you need WiFi to get work done during your stay, you probably would be better off somewhere else.

I think you should reserve rooms where pets are not allowed.

I wished breakfast service available at least until 9:30 A.M. Did not like the smell of our room, I don't know if it was the smell of the carpet or cleaning supplies which was used in the room. Our room was spacious and bathroom was huge which was good. Staff were good.

It was fine for the night. Don't expect luxury, but you'll get what you paid for.

Despite some problems, the staff went out of their way to be helpful. My first room - the AC didn't work. So they moved me to a room that was even nicer. When I left, I left my laptop behind by mistake - they hung on to it for several days before I could get back for it. In some rooms, the decor is rather old, but as I say, my second room was nice. Altho the light fixtures by the bed were broken.

I was surprised to find that my room had a giant tub and that the shower was blocked off. Cheap towels.
