It's not a far walk to downtown Zurich, but be careful which streets you take, some are rather... seedy. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and multi-lingual, and the underground parking is great.

Hotel was good in a great location in West Zurich with lots of nice restaurants and bars close by. Reception were absolutely fantastic.

This is a nice hotel, the staff were helpful and the room was clean and very spacious. The food in the hotel was also quite good and value for money. There is also a tex-mex just down the road that was great. The neighbourhood isn't great and it's a good 30-45 min walk to the centre of the city. What is good though is the tram stop one street over, I would reccomend traveling this way.

Not a good room for light sleepers. Our room was facing the main road (facing Zurich business school) and I could hear loud music from the bar next door, people talking along the street, traffic noise in the middle of the night. The room windows could be better insulated.

This hotel is ok, it is close to the tramway that gets you to the center of the city quite fast. This hotel is regular but expensive for what you get: just regular bedroom, a small window, a nice bathroom and a TV. One should know that they ask about $30 per day of parking and the breakfast is so expensive that we did not get it there. But I guess it is Zurich so it is still reasonable...

The staff was very unfriendly. We called them from airport for directions but they did not provide. When we reached they did not give us the room that we booked. After we told them that we will checkout they gave us the room. Very bad service

The rooms and public areas were not of a four star standard but they were very clean and the bathroom was good. My room was small and poorly lit and the desk was very small to work at for several hours each day. The decor and atmosphere of the room and hotel was entirely functional, but clinical and somewhat sterile, not especially welcoming ; my non smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke throughout my stay, possibly from recycled air or from someone smoking on the balcony next door. The reception staff were polite and efficient but not particularly friendly or helpful. The price was good but the hotel does not compare with other 4 star hotels. In particular, owing to my working visit to Zurich, I would have preferred to stay somewhere with more room and a bigger workspace. The location is very good, 15 minutes from the city centre in a nice area undergoing transformation with new bars, restaurants, residential buildings and schools, all of which made for an interesting neighbourhood.

Very good and enjoybale. Good, knowldgeable and caring front desk.

Switzerland is very expensive to eat out but the tram tickets were very reasonable and easy to hop on and off. the hotel had british tv so that was a bonus

Easy location, right beside a tram line to the centre of town, and helpful staff

The hotel is in a very good location next to the former industrial Escher-Wyss which is now called the Zuri-West district where the former factories and work shops have been converted into shops, restaurants; theaters. The hotel is also close to the shops in the Viadukt area which is built into the arches of train overpass. My only issues are with noise of the area since the hotel is next to an elevated roadway which has a large volume of traffic long into the night. You cannot sleep with the window open; if the window is closed, it gets very stuffy. Housekeeping was inconsistent about stocking the coffee maker with supplies, otherwise the room was very clean. Not sure I would stay again because of the noise.

Not a bad hotel but not the best either. Economical for Zurich.

Comfortable. Not very spacious but comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful. Great location to the trams.

It was not bad with location and staff friendliness. However, the night sleep was disturbed by loud voices and noise from the bars around.

The hotel was nice, although a little loud do to so many tour groups that were staying there. The elevator was out of order, but the guests were directed to use the service elevator. Because there was only one, many guests ended up waiting for the elevator for quite some time. We took the stairs most of the time because we were only on the second floor.

Location - Little Far , but reachable by tram. It will be good if they display the tram number to reach hotel on booking confirmation for new visitors. Room was OK, not something really exciting , not bad except springs for mattress could be better for a 4 star hotel. Front desk – helpful . Currency exchange – Available , one side only . No exchange back Internet was included. Requested backside room for quietness , but there is residential neighborhood in back and was noisy. Good hotel for the cost.

I spent one night at this hotel and found my stay to be enjoyable. The hotel is very easy to find...just a short walk from Hardbrucke station. The in-house italian restaurant was very good. Our waiter was very accomodating and the food was delicious. If you fancy going out for a drink after dinner there are quite a few bars just outside the hotel. Even though there are bars in the area, the room was nice and quiet and I had a good rest. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is just one stop away from the Zurich main station, so you are not far away from sights and you pay less than if you choose a hotel in the heart of the city.

For a four star hotel I would have expected free internet access at least in their business centre computer, but even there they charge five dollars for 1 hour access. If you want internet access in your room they charge you about twenty dollars per 24h access.

Clean and comfortable room, large by European standards, easy trolley access to downtown Zurich and you could buy the tickets at the front desk. Staff at front desk were very friendly and helpful. Got excellent rate at the beginning of our trip (Fri and Sat nights), but rate was quite high at the end of our trip (>2X higher for a Thurs night - no idea why) so we book an Ibis instead for the last night.

It was fine. The room was a bit cramped and the noise from the street was loud at times, but the building and staff were good.

This place needs a serious uplift especially for the costs! The rooms and hallways are very tired and it feels more like an old school than a professional hotel. I was very disappointed with the beds with a big wooden frame stick up so I could not sit on end of bed. Very poor. I will not stay there again. For the money there are a lot of other choices to consider in Zurich.

In terms of location, this hotel was convenient to the offices I had to visit, and is also not far from the Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) by tram, which stops about 100m away. For a hotel in Zurich, it was relatively cheap, and it was clean and comfortable enough. As others have reported, the area around the hotel is a little noisy, but certainly not enough to stop me from sleeping - even in a room at the front of the hotel with the windows open. Staff were very helpful - providing a power adaptor and iron / ironing board for free, and quickly (I've had to pay for both of these in Zurich before!). WiFi was also free, which is (in my experience) unusual in Switzerland. Only downside was really the age of the hotel - it's looking a little tired, but I guess that's part of the reason for the lower price! :) All in all, I'd recommend it for a lower-price business hotel!

Ideally situated for checking out Munich, close to the tram, supermarkets and night life. Friendly staff and very adequate room

The AC in the room was not working properly and it was a difficult night to spend for.

First night got a room on the lower floor the hotel is next to a bar, could hear drunks Yelling on the street. second night got a moroccan (assuming) waiter with an attitude screwed up m night.

This is no 4 star hotel. Neighborhood charmless, close to major routes confluence. Twin beds with sharp wood corners hidden by bed cloth ensures a painful collision. Advertisement of additional space in room a myth - just the usual limited space all hotel rooms have for armchair (next to drafty AC) and desk w bar. Well away from the city center. Front desk attitude depends on individual staff member. Hotels.com should review the reviews and see how many give a 3*, even w/o leaving a comment. Hotels.com records a 3.5* rating and that's overly generous for this place.

Hotel was very convenient to old town by Tram. The Tram was right around the corner from the hotel. The tram also went right by the main train station. Everything was very accessible. The neighborhood was very nice and had some cool cafes, bars and shops. The room was nice and clean. We arrived 2 hours early after an overnight flight from NY and were exhausted. They had us wait for 30 minutes while they prepared a room for us then let us in 1.5 hrs early. We would stay there again!

God for a few nights. Friendly, helping and smiling staff. Good food in the restaurant. Our rom was near the elevator. Much noise. Airconditioner also very loud. Safe in rom ok, bathroom ok. We took the tram sound the corner (Three times right) to the city centre. Day tikket recommended.

We had to take a taxi to hotel as it is not close to Haupbahnhof but we later found out it is within a few blocks of a S-bahn stop. We had a nice large triple room with sitting area and a balcony. This was our last night in Europe so we did not mind the inconvenience of the location. We did have to phone the reception as the rowdy customers of the bar next door were under our balcony. The hotel responded immediately with a call to the police. The one negative which irked me was the hotel lounge would not accept my credit card because it lacked some kind of "chip", however,the front desk accepted this same card as a payment for room.

There is nothing inexpesive in Zurich but we feel we got good value for our money at the Hotel Senator. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel location is very convenient. Steps away from metro. Hotel room was very clean. However the shower may feel little congested for some people. Hotel staff was very helpful. Only thng the breakfast was not included in the price and it was a bit pricy too. Else we loved this hotel.
