Hotel Whitcomb, A Historic Hotel of America - סן פרנסיסקו

הצד החיצוני והלובי של המלון נחמדים, אבל החדר שלי היה זקוק נואשות לעדכון. היו בו מעט מאד שקעי חשמל, והם לא פעלו. חדר השירותים היה מאד לא מעודכן, ולא במובן החיובי של המילה. כלי המיטה היו זקוקים לניקוי. המלון ממוקם במחוז Tenderloin בסאן פרנסיסקו, כך שאם אינכם מכירים את האזור, זה עשוי להיות קצת לא נוח.

התארחתי למשך שני לילות. עקיצות של פשפשי מיטה הופיעו ביום שעזבתי.

באופן כללי, המלון היה בסדר. הוא לא היה נורא, אבל לא אחזור לשם שוב. לא היו מספיק אנשי צוות, אבל הם היו נחמדים. זה בניין בסגנון ישן, והיה לו ריח ישן גם כן. החדר היה קטן מאד, אבל שירת את המטרה. החיסרון הכי גדול של החדר מבחינתי היה המיטה, שהייתה קשה ולא נוחה כל-כך. כבר ישנתי על ספות נוחות יותר. שוב, החדר שירת את המטרה שלו. חדר השירותים היה נחמד, והמים היו חמים. שהיתי במלונות גרועים הרבה יותר, אבל גם בטובים הרבה יותר!

אהבנו מאד את החוויה שלנו כאן. החדר היה בדיוק כמו שהוא נראה באתר האינטרנט. הצוות במלון היה מועיל מאד. מצא חן בעיניי שקיבלנו מצעים חדשים מדי יום. אחזור לכאן שוב בשמחה.

נוח מאד, חדר מקסים ומאובזר היטב. ה-Bart underground עוצר מחוץ למלון (ישירות משדה התעופה). יש תחנה של קו ה- F של החשמלית מחוץ למלון, אם תרצו לנסוע מהירה במורד רחוב Market ל- central San Fan ול- Fishermans Warf. מלון טוב ומיקום נהדר, במחיר טוב.

זו הייתה הפעם השלישית שלנו במלון, ואנחנו עדיין נהנים ממנו. זהו מלון היסטורי, ושמרו עליו כך, ואנחנו אוהבים את זה. החדרים נחמדים והמיטה נוחה. הצוות היה נחמד, אהבנו במיוחד את השוער הידען מאד והצנוע. אבל יותר מכל, אהבנו את המיקום, המיקום, המיקום. אי אפשר למצוא טוב יותר. אפשר לנסוע ב- BART משדה התעופה, הוא עוצר מול המלון. יש אוטובוסים רבים שעוברים מול המלון. אפשר ליהנות מחופשה ללא נהיגה בלי בעיה.

שהיתי במלון שלושה לילות עם אשתי. צוות הקבלה היה מאד משפחתי ומועיל. החדר רחב, נקי, והמיטה הייתה רכה מאד ונוחה. המיקום המצוין של המלון ברחוב Market הפך את הגישה לכל מקום בסן פרנסיסקו לקלה. יחד עם זאת, המקרר עולה 20 דולר ללילה. אין ארוחות בוקר, כך שתצטרכו ללכת ל- Starbucks שבכניסה למלון בכל בוקר בשביל קפה ואוכל. באופן כללי, אני בטוח שאשהה במלון הזה שוב בביקור הבא שלי בסאן פרנסיסקו. ד“ר A.M.E. נהננו מהשהייה שלנו - המיקום נוח, החיסרון היחידי הוא שהם גובים 35 דולר עבור חניה בנוסף לתשלום עבור החדר.

המלון ממוקם בדרום שכונת Market (או SoMa ) בסאן פרנסיסקו ולדעתי זה איננו מקום שכדאי להסתובב בו הרבה בלילה לאור ההזנחה של הרחובות והחנויות ומספר חסרי הבית. היות שהיו איתי ילדים, הסמיכות למקומות שמיועדים רק למבוגרים היתה לא נוחה במיוחד. המלון המסויים הזה היה הרבה יותר טוב בעבר: הוא מיושן באופן ברור וסובל מתחזוקה גרועה כפי שמשתקף מעיצוב הפנים המרופט שלו והאריכיטקטורה המיושנת. בעוד שאין רע במבנה קלאסי, גראנדיוזי במקרה הזה כתמי הזמן משתקפים בכתמי השטיחים, שקעי חשמל ללא הארקה, חוסר בשירותים מסויימים (עבור אורחים שהם בענייני עסקים),...בנושאי בריאות ובטיחות, יש צורך לבדוק ולעדכן את המוכנות של המלון לשריפה. בזמן השהייה שלנו חווינו שתי אזעקות אש, בשני בקרים אחד אחרי השני, והיה ברור שתקנות החירום שלהם לא עונות על הצרכים. בצד החיובי, אנשי הסגל, באופן כללי ידידותיים וקשובים והמחיר איכשהו סביר. אני מניחה שהמסקנה היא שאתה מקבל מה שאתה משלם עבורו, אבל במחשבה שניה, זו איננה תמורה טובה עבור הכסף...

מרכז סן פרנסיסקו מאפשר גישה לכל מה שתרצו לבקר.

Hotel staff was great. Beautiful Lobby. Felt very safe despite many homeless persons loitering outside. Room very small and slight odor, but overall seemed clean.

The Whitcomb Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from the City Hall and Union Square and not too far away from Fishermans Warf. The street car runs right outside the hotel. In the evening/night there's quite a few unpleasant characters hanging around the neighborhood. The hotel itself is worn down and needs a complete make over. E.g. the beds are worn out and feels more like a hammock than a bed. The elevators are old and extremely slow so expect long waiting times. The cleaning standard is only as good as it can be with old carpets everywhere in rooms and hallways.

Nice hotel in a convenient location. Very good service and lovely vintage features. Situated just Steps from transit was very convenient for business. Nice rooms updated and clean. Overall a good value and charming hotel.

I brought friends from out of town to stay here for the weekend and they were very satisfied with their stay. The only problem, and it's a small one, is that the hotel was so busy it was a 15-minute wait to check in because the line was so long. Otherwise, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the building itself is classically beautiful. There have been complaints about the location, but although there are "denizens" hanging about Market St. and Civic Center Plaza, it's not a dangerous neighborhood. There is a taxi stand, MUNI and BART stops right out the front door.

The hotel was wonderful! Clean, beautiful historic building, comfortable bed, business center where I could print out my boarding passes for the next day's flight.

We would have preferred if the Hotel can provide Tea/ Coffee kettles in the Rooms , as in the cold season, you cant expect Guests to move - out frequently to have the drink of their choice

Wifi was terrible, kept coming in and out. My reservation said queen size bed and it was a full. One piece of equipment worked in the fitness center and the valley parking was a joke.

Hotel is in a great location if you don't have a vehicle. It is centrally located on Market Street so getting anywhere in town is pretty easy with the trolley or bus for $2. The Bart station is right in front of the hotel so getting to the airport is an easy $8.25 trip. If you want to get an all day pass for the muni, it's $12 but let's you ride the trolley cars and any of the cities trans except the Bart. You can get from Castro to the Pier with ease. Our only complaint is the neighborhood and homeless people. It appears to be a downtown issue. Just be conscious of your surroundings and all should be good. The hotel is nice. I really liked the old feel of the hotel. Apparently it is haunted which I think is exciting. We didn't get the sixth floor which is noted to active but I did note a few colder than normal spots in hallways and stairwells. Had a great relaxing time.

average hotel in a rough neighborhood

The Witcomb hotel was o.k. But the bathrooms were horrible. The sinks were just a single sink with out a counter. The showers were weak at best. Plus the rooms were drafty especially the bathrooms.

When booked we asked for fridge & coffee maker it took two days and three requests to get coffee maker and we never got the fridge at all during our stay, if not for the housekeeping ladies i do not think we would have got the coffee maker either. Hotel needs a lot of work

I have been in this hotel before and enjoyed it very much. But this time there was no heater in the room and I was very uncomfortable. The front desk sent the engineer up and he could not find a heater or thermostat either.

We had a great time - hotel staff met all our needs! We had a comfortable quiet room, ate at the restaurant for one meal, received good tips from the concierge and public transportation was right out the door. Plan to return for our next trip to San Francisco!

Spartan, but it works. The neighborhood is terrible, but Market street is at least a little safer than some of the streets off it.

Aside from the fact that the hotel reminded me of the shining, it is not in a safe neighborhood and is in desperate need of a full gut renovation. That being said the night manager Kanil was incredibly kind and helpful.

My stay was ok for the few hours we were in the room. The hotel is very old though & in the room it showed but, it was very clean. It took over 7 minutes for the hot water to come on in the shower.

We fell asleep peacefully after a night out at the giants game and after going to 21st amendment. Muni is right there and it's so close to everything! Parking is $40 though but it gives you peace of mind and our escort Sergio was awesome! The guys at the service desk was a tad rude but I think it was because he was training someone at the time. Bathroom was eh, ok but I'm so so glad we got a private bathroom. I just prefer the privacy and leisure. Overall this hotel was decent.

Went to a Giants game and loved the convenience of the MUNI train just steps away from the hotel.

I found this to be a good hotel for a short stay. It is an old building but with decent facilities. Safety deposit boxes are held at receiption rather than in your room. Staff were extremely friendly. The hotel location is right next to the 8th street exit of the BART underground system which is useful but the neighbourhood itself is not the best in San Francisco.

A very tired hotel. Has that very old hotel smell to it. Very institutional looking floors. Not in a good section of town. Very little in close proximity to the hotel .No coffee in the room. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable.

The hotel rooms were dank and dark with a very small window looking out to an alley. The front of the hotel was littered with homeless and quite frightening,. We did not feel comfortable walking anywhere outside of the hotel..

The hotel exceeded my expectations - it was a large hotel, very pretty, and in a great location. The only thing that creeped me out was the historic feel of it - at times, I felt like a ghost would CHASE me down the hallway. It felt a bit.. haunted. BUT, I didn't experience anything of that sort so I am sure it was just my imagination. The rooms were a little smaller than expected but did the job. The main reason I booked this hotel was for the complimentary breakfast, only to find out there was none.. fail. But, overall, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Can't beat the price!

5 blocks from Powell Street, not terrible, but this area "Tenderloin" is inhabited by an INCREDIBLE amount of homeless transients. I certainly wouldn't want to walk through the area late at night. The BART lets off right in front of the hotel and you can catch the Muni or a cab right at the doorstep. If it wasn't for that, I would have moved hotels.again, not a bad hotel inside, just the neighbor"hood"

The hotel is not for the glass and brass crowd. It is like a well kept time piece from the early 1900s - everything works but the decor is dated by modern standards. Not a problem for me, I like the ambience. I had a basic Queen room. Everything worked, was clean, and the room very quiet. The electric heat/air con unit made the room plenty warm when need and the flat screen TV was perfect size at 37". The elevator wait was maybe 1 minute each time. Staff was very helpf from the valet to the concierge and front desk. You should be aware there is no room service. The restaurant in the lobby is the Market Street Grill which was good. There is a Starbucks downstairs too. BART is 1/2 block away using the UN plaza exit from Civic Center station. The only thing do Ye about the hotel is its location in the tenderloin area. Surrounded by lots of great attractions (Orpheum theatre is across the street, new SF Jazz Hall is a 5 minute walk, etc.) it is convenient. But lots of homeless, transients, counter culture people line the sidewalks. (I met Moses, seriously, at the CVS two doors down. His outfit and long staff were perfect.). But it's SF and everyone seemed to leave everyone else alone and go about their business. I was only solicited for money twice which is very low for any big city sidewalk. I talked to two families from Europe who were at the hotel with young children and they said they had no issues

This great old hotel was so convenient to the Bill Graham Civic Center. We booked it so we could go to and from a concert. The room was comfortable and quiet. It has all the charm and idiocyncracies of a very old building.

Hotel was under-staffed, took way to long to check in. They were not friendly.

Staff were very considerate and helpful, especially Harvey (front desk) and Kevin (server in restaurant). The dining room was not open in the evenings for dinner, we could only get food at the bar, which was inconvenient. Would have been nice to have coffee/tea in rooms.

my 1st time to SF loved the Hotel Whitcomb. customer service very good, clean room comfortable bed. surrounding neighborhood not so good with crazy street beggars. not speaking of homeless people talking about scary mentally unstable individuals. we did not enjoy any evenings out being concerned for our safety.

The hotel itself is very nice. The lobby is beautiful and the room was decent. The bathroom was a bit small, but not bad. The down side was the neighborhood, or more accurately, Market St. Lots of homeless hang around on the street. They aren't terribly threatening, but did cat call my wife. Also, my room overlooked a parking lot and construction site, so there were bright lights shining into the window at night and lots of noise early in the morning. Overall, minor annoyances. The location is very convenient to anything you'd want to see in San Fran and there are all kinds of public transit options right out the door including the F trolly, the MUNI light rail, and the BART. I'd stay here again given the price.
