COUNTRY GARDEN INNS - כרמל ואלי

The outside really looks run down. the parking lot hasn't been paved in years. The Doors, windows are 1950's at best. However the staff, and breakfast crew couldn't have been nicer. The interior was very clean.

Disappointed that this hotel has 3 separate properties which was not disclosed during the booking. We were at the old dingy lodge down the street. Quiet area but could hear people talking outside. Also there were cobwebs, a difficult to open window, and a very outdated bathroom. I recommend staying in near Carmel by the Sea or Monterey to get much more for your money. However, if you must get off the beaten path this could be an option provided you are note paying a holiday nosebleed premium. Breakfast was ok. At least they had a good waffle maker.

We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the bathroom. We stayed up around the corner from the office in a separate part of the Inn, which appeared to be an old 50s motel. The grounds were surrounded in flower beds, the pool was sparkling and the spa was warm and lovely. We asked if we could extend our check-out time and were told take as long as we wanted. We had the place to ourselves on Sunday afternoon. The wine and cheese and breakfast were lovely.

We arrive and checked in at 4pm without any glitches. Was given a ground floor room in a 2 floor inn. The couple above us was very heavy footed and wouldn't stop dashing about their room for 15 minutes. It was very distracting and asked for a 2nd floor room instead. The front desk was very accomodating and gave us the last 2nd floor room. We were quite pleased with the room until about 9pm. That's when we realized how thin all the walls were. On one side of us - we could hear someone snoring. On the other side of us was a very "active" couple. The bed was placed on the same wall as ours and you can make out their "conversation" - word for word. Thank goodness it didn't last very long and we had a pretty good laugh about it. The inn itself is very quaint and peaceful, tucked into a beautiful valley. Complimentary breakfast was great and we sat next to a glass patio overlooking the valley over a cup of coffee. Overall, the experience was positive. It just depends on who you get as neighbors...

We loved this place especially because of the beautiful nature! Will come back again! Excellent breakfast!!!
