Howard Johnson Inn San Diego Hotel Circle - סן דייגו

I feel they were not accomadating. We booked hotel for MCRD Graduation, so it was close. My husband doesn't do stairs well. Their elavator was not working. we arrived sooner than expected, gave us a room on 2nd floor, but said we would have to check out and come back for the room we booked online. Then we came back for 2nd day the room was on 4th floor. She said well I can give you same room you had last night if you want....poor management. We were not pleased. Swimming pool was dirty cigarette butts floating in it. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Though the location is ideal, this hotel is not what it once was. Having stayed here many times, the service seems to be going downhill. The room did not have any towels and when the room was made up, it looked like perhaps the bed was made and that was it. No towels were added, no extra toilet paper, etc. I had to go to the manager's desk a few times just to get the basics of what should have been supplied in the room.

For the price and location this hotel stay was perfect, staff was friendly and room was clean, could use a remodel but all in all a great experience

The elevator was broken during our visit. We had a fourth floor room. We got a bit of exercise. The building is situated on a hillside. The doors face out. The pathways around the building is a bit narrow. It does not lend itself to confidence. The rooms closest to the street are subject to lot of road noise from the adjacent interstate. You'll need to run the A/C for white noise. I did manage to get a decent night's sleep as the mattress was good. The staff was pleasant. However, I'd rather drive to the La Mesa location next time....

The convenience of the hotel was wonderful. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is very old and needs to be remodeled. The carpet was so filthy that when I walked on it, my feet became black. The elevator was broken and was not expected to be fixed anytime soon. The bed was old as well and the mattress was lopsided. The price was a big selling point for us!

Elevator was down all the time we were there and my mother had just had knee surgery. Continental breakfast was average except two days they were out of coffee. Pillows were awful - seemed like they were pulled-apart foam. They were wrapped in a king size pillowcase. Won't stay again.

Great location to attractions, almost everything is within 15 min (beachs, Balboa Park, Sea World, Downtown and shopping areas/restaurants). $5/night parking fee not listed, freeway noise is distracting. Friendly staff and descent breakfast

Hotel was in great location...rooms need remodeling.

YOu get what u paid for. Very nosiy at night. nice staff. hotel room was clean. breakfast was nice. didnt feel safe walking around at night.

This hotel looks like it might be rented by the hour ..upon arrival my room appeared to not have been changed found long hair on my sheets .. No room service to change linens or get fresh towels the next morning .. They said I had to wait till they could get some more towels out if the dryer and would return in 30-45 min .. Which they returned after two hours with two towels .. Offered to give me a towel mat to use as a towel until they could get some :( also cigarette butts all over the outside hallway of the non smoking rooms.. Staff rude and unprofessional .. The door to my room would not close all the way leaving a huge crack In my door way Everything very very dirty .. Elevator permit 6 months expired .. Worse hotel ever don't waste the little money you will spend for this hotel ..

Rude and unprofessional staff. Breakfast was not kept up with, anda when we asked for an item to be replenished, lady glared at us, took the tray to get it replenished, then came back and threw it on the counter.

Stayed at the hotel for business so was basically looking for clean, quiet and safe. The hotel is good for two out of three. It is definietly not quiet. There was the traffic noise day and night very loud in the room. I have stayed at several hotels on Hotel Cir S and never had this problem so it is definitely the hotel. Also asked for a wake up call the first day which never came and I was started an hour and a half late for my 1st day of business. Not great. Definitely would not stay there again.

Their customer service sucked because we put the do not disturb sign on our door n they still disturbed us. Their breakfast sucked because they didn't refill the crousants n bread when it was getting low. The front desk seemed like they had no customer service ecperience at all whatsoever. We requested a week ahead for all our 3 rooms to be next to each other but when we got there they said the request was not done so our rooms were all separated. The beds were not comfortable. The sheets and pillows were very thin. The wooden mirrors were old. The building was completely lobsided. The walkway to the rooms were lobsided. The pool n hot tub were very dirty. The hot tub was green!!!! We asked them to please clean it on a Monday and they said they already cleaned it on Friday!!!! Yuck! The pools had stains all around the edges of the water level inside the pools. I don't know what else to say... I can go on and on and on about this place... worst hotel ever. Probably a motel 6 would have been better...

It wasn't as nice as some HoJos I've stayed at, but it was too bad. The night front desk guy was really great.

would stay again. should supply more towels though. no complaints. remember what you paid. clean room, good location.

Dirty rooms, carpets not even vacuumed well. Sheets had holes comforters we yuck (we take them off no matter the hotel but these were yuck) ceiling in bathroom had a big bubble in it like it would cave in at any point. I know you get what you pay for but just don't pay for this one. Breakfast was pretty good

The walkways and parking area around the rooms was filled with trash that was never swept up in the 2 days I was there.

Easy access to all that San Diego has to offer. Close to shopping and restaurants. Have stayed at this location many times.

The rooms were great for the price! Employees were friendly & helpful. Only bad part our door was hard to open it kept getting stuck but maintenance did come out the 2nd day & some what fixed the issue. We also had a room near the street so it was very noisy with cars at night. By the 2nd night we were exhausted from our day so didn't notice it much. Breakfast was your usual continental items. I would stay here again but ask for a room further back off the street.

Cleanlinees of room was sanitary but not really clean. Wall mounted air conditioning/heater unit was very noisy, it kept me awake most of the night, Informed front desk upon departure, No apologies made.

overal good except receptionists service was rude

hotels.com got us $18 less than the advertised rate, plus we enjoyed the free parking and the breakfast room. The staff was more friendly than most, and my little one was thrilled with the cable channels they offered :)

Spacious 3-bed room and free continental breakfast fits our big family and the cost is really decent. The front desk is really helpful and the check in and out only takes about 5 minutes in total. Will definitely stay there next time in San Diego

The pool and spa aren't clean at all. The rooms are pretty run down and we found hair in our sheets (before we had slept in it). The staff does their best, but overall this place is pretty tired and run down.

Overall, the stay was ok for the price. the fridge in the room didn't work and froze all my food. I had to throw over half the food away, and when I called from maintenance they didn't fix the problem. A little noisy but overall for just a place to sleep it was fine.

Close to Qualcomm stadium

I remember when Howard Johnson was a hotel compan regarded as a very good family hotel with clean rooms and a staff that cared. I see that is no longer true. After my stay here I will always avoid staying at Howard Johnson hotels! I have stayed at Hotel 6 and Days Inn and they seem to be a Hyatt or Hilton compared to this place!

It was horrible and we felt unsafe, our bedroom smelled of cigarettes and the hotel was dull and gloomy looking. Very unhappy about that experience and would like a refund of my $59.00 penalty charge for changing. Thank you.

They didn't have the rooms we had already paid for and booked available when we checked in so they put us in a suite which was filthy the sheets smelt like dust the floor had stains all over it the blue couch was black it was so dirty the tv didn't come in clear at all and the free wifi didn't really work, they also gave horrible customer service when it came to refunding me for the rooms we had already paid for that they didn't have. The location was convenient but that was the only good thing!

We were very disappointed after the first night, as we left the room at 11:15 am; the housekeeper was cleaning next door room. We took off the "Do not disturb sign" but we did not mention anything to her, as it was obvious that our room was ready for cleaning. When we arrived late that evening our room was not cleaned, we had to get clean towels at the reception. Other than that it was ok our stay, but the hotel needs to be updated. The room was very small, so we hardly could move around. You need a car to reach the shopping mall and restaurants, which are across the highway. In general, it is very well located if you have a car.
