Great service and excellent hotel location but the bathroom presented "unwanted hair" leftover. Nice stay if you are looking for somewhere inexpensive.

great location because it's near the intersection of two major metro lines. also plenty of shops and low end restaurants. surrounding neighborhood is the clubbing area , so great for clubbers. however, when you are not clubbing, the area is rife with beggars. reception is freindly and helpful as are staff. hotel is a little weathered, and beds are a bit beaten. but everything is clean. so for a budget traveler - clean rules! i didn't mind the hotel overall being a bit downtrodden as long as they keep it clean -which they did. suprise benefit- among the best french bread I have ever tasted! (breakfast)

Breakfast good. Brought to our room! Old fixtures and surroundings. Would never pay over $100/night here. Parking two blocks away.

The desk clerks were awsesome to help direct us to restaurants and events.The breakfast brought to our room at the time asked was very nice!Housekeeping could be improved.

I went because of location price and the emphasis on bi lingual multicultural openness. As a non French speaker I was kind of nervous. The people were great! The basic breakfast delivered at my preferred time was basic, but sooo nice! The neighborhood is the gay area, but who cares, everyone was so nice and location was prime. The rooms were über basic. Almost like European bedroom small simple. Not a room for staying in all day. A great place to come home to though! Next door is the youth hostel if ur on a real tight budget. But this is the best for the young traveling couple

Convenient location... close to metro & bus station... only 4 metro stops from train station. EXCELLENT staff... very impressed with the customer service. Comfortable room. Bed was firm. Simple decor. Bathroom a bit outdated, but clean. Good value for the money. Would stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Le St Andre. It was within walking distance of everything I want to see. The room was very clean and you can't beat the free continental breakfast served to you in your room! I will be back!

This was my second stay at the Hotel Le St Andre and once again I found it to be a perfect fit for my needs at a more than reasonable rate. The staff are all very pleasant and most accommidating. They even suggested to me where to go to find the most secure and least expensive parking within walking distance of the Hotel. The free room service continental breakfast of coffee, juice, two fresh croisants, and two bagettes was served right at the time I requested. I am also impressed with the size of the rooms and the comfort of the beds. I would highly, highly reccommend Hotel Le St Andre to anyone looking for high quality inexpensive accommidations in downtown Montreal, Canada

Service: was great, everybody was very friendly. Condition of the hotel: old, small rooms, you can hear what's going on in the rooms beside you/hallway, bed's are too small, washroom was clean. Location: walking distance to down town.

This Hotel is Close to a Lot of Interesting things to see. We stayed here because the Hotel we wanted was booked. I would stayed here again, but only if there were no other Hotels in the area. The Staff is Very Friendly, and Helpful. They're also Bilingual, and eager to assist. The downside is that the Rooms we stayed in, although Clean. Were not Modern. No Large, Flat LCD screens or Fancy Beds. The Hotel could use a Major Investment to Upgrades. But, everything does work! Plus, we were surprised that they actually Delivered our Continental Breakfast to our Rooms. And it was Good and Fresh! The Hotel has no Parking of its own. They advice you to park at the nearby Biblioteque Grande which is Cheap at $9.00 a Day. When we were there it was mostly Students staying there. Good Hotel when you're on a tight budget.

The hotel is centrally located on St. Catherine street and great space for exploring and enjoying the area. The staff was really friendly and helpful with local resources such as parking. The room was fair condition. The bed was comfortable, however, I think the room could have used a little better cleaning.

I stayed for 3 nights for a cheap price and really enjoyed the hotel. The building is old but the interior was well decorated and renovated. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful when asking info for tourist landmarks. The room was clean, perfectly warm and there was a thermostat so you could adjust it. The bed was comfy enough for a regular sleep; the TV looked old but the screen resolution was good. There was a small fridge which was great for me since I had some perishable food. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and well illuminated; but only the hot water took a while to heat (probably because of the old building). I loved the breakfast delivered to the room every morning at the time I asked. The room was clean and tidy every day when I returned at night. The location is perhaps the best, just 2 blocks from the Berri Metro Station and one block from two 24 hour open big pharmacies where you can get anything you need, and I think about 4 blocks from the bus terminal. I never needed to take the cab, saving time and money. I definitely recommend this hotel.

When all other hotels were over $100...This was a DEAL! Freshly painted room. Clean sheets. The mattress was newer, but too firm for my taste (not their problem). Cordial (not convivial) staff. Clean bath with plenty of hot water any time of day. Had I known the Uni was so close, I might've stayed elsewhere, but you couldn't hear a peep from the room of the raucus kids in the area. I would definitely stay again.

Great little hotel handy to the village and métro. The included breakfast delivered to your door is a nice touch. Staff very friendly.

My stay in Hotel Le St Andre was awesome- very polite and accomodating staffs, clean room and good breakfast. Never encountered any problem during my stay in this hotel.

Stayed 3 nights. Fantastic last minute booking price. Small room but clean. Bed needs to be replaced. Small outdated television. Limited off street parking but the desk agent had no idea about this upon checking in - it was not until the next day that another agent was more helpful. Located in the gay village - close to restaurants and bars. Just a few feet from St Catherines Street. I would stay here again - at the price I paid. Nothing fancy but clean and convenient.

The hotel says free parking but there is not, you have to get up at 6 to move your car or get a expensive ticket from the city. Also bring soap, every time they clean our room there wasnt any soap. The location is not too bad, do not leave any values in the car, there are junkies around who love to smash car windows. If you want free parking look for signs a block east, yoh might get a spot. For the price I'll be staying here, but if you can pay a little bit more go somewhere else.

The hotel is very old and unkempt. Room was small and in bad shape. Parking was free but in an unprotected lot. Breakfast was included but not good. we skipped it altogether. With same price or a little more, much better options are available in nearby hotels.

Great value. Front desk was friendly and extremely helpful. Room was clean. The complementary breakfast in delivered to the room is a great touch. Only downside is the tiny parking lot..

The room was clean but small. The bathroom did not have any electrical outlets. The furniture appeared to be the type that you build yourself. But, the location was great -- Within walking distance of shopping and old town.Would stay here again for the price and location.

Very nice staff. Love the complimentary breakfast and free parking. I have been there three times now and never been disappointed. Great location close to everything.

Only two blocks to the Berri-UQAM Metro station so easy to get anywhere in Montreal. Serve nice continental breakfast brought right to your room. Free parking available in a limited-sized lot so get there early. Could use a little upgrade in room furniture, lighting and TV. WiFi worked reasonably well.

Great location but not worth the money. While the location is fantastic, this hotel is definitely not worth the rate we paid. The staff were very friendly but the condition of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. A fresh coat of paint is needed everywhere as are new carpets. Its been a long time since I've stayed in a hotel that looked this tired and ragged. The room we stayed in was large enough but the lights didnt work well and several electrical outlets were'nt working. Think twice and look for a better value.

I drove up and my first thought was to cancel. I mean, the parking lot is just a vacant lot and you have to drive between two buildings, make a sharp turn (if someone isn't just parked at the turn so that you can barely get in -- why are people this dense to do that?) Anyway, when I got in, the people were very nice and the room is like a small bedroom with a bathroom in it. For me, I came to Montreal to explore the city, not to stay in a hotel, so it served its needs. I could easily fall asleep there, the window unit on the air conditioner worked, the fridge was small but it was good enough to keep milk, soda, and juice cold. Never really turned the TV on, but it's an old tube TV. The furniture is not that great, but it didn't fall apart, so I won't complain. All in all, it's in a city and it may be a bit overpriced considering the parking issue but judging by the other prices around, you will pay much more to go there. Let's just say that it suited my needs for 3 days although if I had one request, I'd put a good bike rack in front of the building and maybe even put a small ramp where the parking lot is so you don't have to go through the alley to park.... (if you can get a spot -- if not, there are MAYBE 2 or 3 spots you can get in but you can't park there on Monday and Thursday between 7 and 8 am for some reason) Anyway, not too bad, it's near many stores, and it was decent enough to end my trip on a good note.

The room was very old and small. Paint chipped ad insulation exposed around the window AC unit. The room was painted a blood red color and the sheets looked a bit dingy as it was yellowish. We tried to get hotels.com to cancel 2 of the 3 nights and move to the travelodge down the street; but they said we couldn't cause we already started our stay. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and tried their best to make us feel welcomed. But that didn't quite make up for the really horrible room.

The hotel is close to the Ste Catherine street which is pedestrian and nice and also next to the Berri UQAM station. However some people tend to urinate in a small street around the hotel... Also the room is not perfectly clean and quite old. The breakfast included and served in the room is ok (piece of bread, croissant, jam, butter, orange juice, coffee or tea).

When we arrived we got a parking spot in their free parking lot which was great. The room was clean and the bathroom was very nice. The room is not huge but it was perfect for my boyfriend and I. The front desk was very helpful and the location cannot be beat. The hotel is one block from Saint Catherine which is the main downtown street and we were able to walk to Old Montreal in 5 mins. Honestly this is the best hotel for the price. It was cheap but it was clean. We will be using this hotel again for sure.

This hotel is ideal for those wanting a clean room, good continental breakfast delivered to your door each morning, and easy access to the gay village and métro. Quiet, comfortable room and friendly staff.

here are some highlights or our experience: we stayed there for three nights. the location is great: by the subway, lively neighborhood with lots of character, close to old Montreal. good breakfast though not so great coffee. old TV in the room. the parking was a little bit of hassle (tight space and you have to pick the key for the lock) but much better than paying. our room was on the 4th floor and we had to walk up the stairs one floor. not much sunlight in the room but clean enough. the staff were very friendly. overall, we enjoyed our stay there. This is a nice place to choose especially if you are not spending much time inside and more importantly, if you don't want to pay for the frills.

Get there early, the parking lot gets full fast and then you're out of luck.

The hotel is very cozy and nice, but the furnatiru has seen better times. My bed was not very comfortable and the leinen was lacking freshness.The washroom and shower cabin have surprised being spotless. The personnel is very helpful and pleasant. I really enjoyed the breakfast. The location is amazing! Overall if you are travelling without any high expectations and are planning to spend time in Montreal and not in your hotel room it is your best bet!

the staff were nice. but the room we had was small enough for one person. The location is good in downtown.
