The staff was extraordinarily helpful. The hotel itself had interesting architecture and very nice rooms. My only niggles were with all the merchandise in the room -- I was afraid to touch anything lest I have to buy it -- and the feather pillows (which I may have been able to swap for foam if I hadn't been too tired to ask). Parking was expensive ($37) but fortunately it was half-price for hybrids. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the Vintage Plaza will be our first choice for a Portland hotel now.

Beautiful building. Very nice rooms. The beds are a little soft, my back was aching after the third night. Gym is mediocre at best. Internet is extra. The location is fantastic, with all of downtown Portland right out the front door. I'd recommend it.

I recently went to Portland for the first time. The hotel was in a great location, the staff was very friendly and the food at the restaurant next door was amazing! I highly recommend this hotel!

Close to all major Portland attractions. Friendly staff... Great restaurant attached.

first night the end table was dusty. when they cleaned the room on the 4th night the bathroom floor was dirty, no liner for ice bucket, bedding was not changed, no extra toliet tissue and the wine glasses were not replaced. I actually took a picture of the bedding and cleaned the floor with a face cloth and took them to the front desk. The man at the desk made a call to have it cleaned but never offered an I'm sorry or anything

My wife and I stayed at the Vintage Plaza on our wedding night and the following night. We were clearly more difficult than average guests due to the wedding and our desire for both plenty of service and plenty of privacy. The staff at the Vintage Plaza were great and never made us feel like we were asking for too much. We had a great time. And my wife really liked their shampoo and conditioner, too.

Old hotel, smell of old carpets bothered us,okay room, desk lamp wasn't working properly. The only thing I liked about it is the free coffee in the morning. We were never in the hotel in the evening for wine tasting. Overall, it is nothing like a four star hotel.

I own a business in Portland and have stayed in virtually every hotel in the City. This was the noisiest room I have ever, every been in. The in-room heating unit was as loud as a small outboard motor, so I just shut it off. Then the room was filled with the sound of a high-capacity water line that ran continuously through the night. This was so loud that I (and I'm not kidding you on this) had a nightmare that the room was flooding. Just to top things off... if you want Internet access at this Hotel, you have to fill out some huge form that tells them where you kids go to school and your IRA account numbers - rediculous. When I called the Desk to ask if there was a way to just log on without divulging a lot of personal information, the woman was very snotty and said "That's not MY problem". Horrible experience the whole way around.

I couldn't possibly have been happier with this hotel. From check-in to check-out, we were treated with superior service and attention; our room was gorgeous with really lovely details. The wi-fi was so fast! and the hotel's restaurant was delicious. May only stay in Kimptons from now on!

Great stay! Close to cafe's and restaurants in the pearl. Staff was politeqnd very friendly. Would happily stay here again.

The property was lovely, but unfortunately the staff were rude and unhelpful. There is no concierge desk, and the front desk staff work very hard to ignore guests. The desk clerks also repeatedly reminded us that since we booked through a "third party" (hotels.com), we didn't qualify for certain things, such as the complementary wifi. They charge a high daily rate - not complementary! I paid a substantial rate for each of the 6 nights I stayed there, and I would expect a much higher level of service. I will not stay at this property again.

Very comfortable stay, great rooms, and the staff was very friendly. I loved the pillowed (squishy), good amenities (they offer an umbrella!) and when we called up for extra towels & hair spray, they were quick to bring them up. The restaurant also have an unlimited bellini bar on the weekends, yum!

A nice place, comfortable rooms - and while some reviews said their room was smaller than the photos, our room ended up being comfortable and about as advertised (2 queen beds). Turn right out the front door and you end up in a slightly sketchy area (strip clubs) on your way to Powell's Books. Turn left and you are 3 blocks to Nordstrom's/Pioneer Courthouse/Downtown core. A great array of restaurant choices nearby. Not too far off the 405. Would stay again.

We have stayed at the vintage plaza a few times. It is a great hotel! Clean rooms, friendly staff, in the heart of downtown and exceptionally quite. This visit was for valentines day and we were going downtown to see a show. We wanted to be able to have fun without worrying about getting home latter. Vintage plaza made it easy, we valet our car, checked in, and walked to the show. Afterwards, we walked backed, got a good nights sleep and woke up refreshed and ready to return to real life. Whether you are here for a business trip, vacation or a romantic evening out, I think you will be pleased with your stay here. The rooms are fairly large, the beds are comfortable and if you like a big shower, they have that too.

Nothing particularly bad this time, but the level of service seemed a bit more casual (there usually weren't bellmen at the doors when we entered and exited), and the rooms are starting to seem a bit dated.

This is the second stay I have had at a Kimpton resort and honestly I cannot find a better chain. Everyone that works for this company is amazing. Seriously. They are all extremely helpful and polite. The only slight complaint I have is that the walls are a little thin. We heard our neighbors alarm blaring for about 30 minutes one morning. Secondly, we had a starlight room and you cannot tell from the pictures but the hotel next to the Kimpton can look into those lovely 45 degree windows. No biggie!

Hotel and restaurant staff are friendly and helpful. The location is within walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. The rooms are comfortable and clean well appointed. Only negative.....No HD TV channels, but who spends time in their room anyway!

This hotel was so comfortable and welcoming. I was there for a week and there was just about no noise (which is impressive for smack dab in the heart of town). I loved being in walking distance from the amazing Portland food truck square. But the best thing is their 5 o'clock complementary wine! It really seemed to bring everyone together which makes it a very memorable experience. Love Loved it at Hotel Vintage. PS. the restaurant & cafe below is fabulous!

Room nicely furnished but smaller than it looks in photo (it is NYC size). Pillows, bed, comforter all super. Free wine tasting every evening was very nice and really opened up the place - very friendly. Most of the staff was SO helpful. Heat exchange unit in room ceiling was way too loud and the filter rattled - could be a problem for some. But it is so nicely located and easy to get around you can walk to wherever you want to go. Make sure you get a discount - there are many.Too many items for sale in the room - bathrobe, socks, stuffed animal, food, drinks - felt like I was in a catalog.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Have stayed at many other hotels in Portland but think this is my favorite, lovely room with comfy bedding and nice sized bath.

We have to come to Portland twice a year for a Doctor's appt. We love staying here, and will continue to do so. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Always exceptionally clean, comfortable rooms.

staff is very welcoming of us and our dog. Only negative: they no longer have hot water/coffee set up in the rooms unless specifically requested. Funnily that is quite awkward.... especially given the great spacious room and nice kitchen/bar area.

Everything was great, will stay again.

The hotel and staff were excellent and I would definately recommend to people looking for a nice, relaxing boutique hotel to experience. Since it was my gf and I staying the weekend to finish our Christmas shopping, we decided to book one of their Starlight rooms with the big clear slanted windows which really opened up the room. It was fantastic! Our only issue with the room was it did not offer a King size bed option, and the "queen" bed seemed rather small. Other than that, I would say we will definitely keep on our list of places to stay downtown. Plus, there is a parking garage right across the street which is 24hrs and a much better option financially than paying for valet parking.

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The connected restaurant was delicious. Hotel offers a number of added benefits including social hour and free wifi with their rewards program.

Wonderful wine hour with opportunity to meet other guests; good wine also! Very pleasant surroundings and nice size room. Only negative was refrigerated trucks for extended stay outside room one early morning.

I liked everything about it. I think the room could use a little more storage - like drawers. And the bathroom had a few places where it was a tiny bit rundown for a luxury hotel (there was rust on the towel rack and the shower-head was a bit on the old side). Overall I love this place and the service and the room service.

Fine hotel in good location. Staff courteous and helpful. Pass on the spa rooms. They have no windows! Just a peek via skylight

Love this hotel, this Porrtland location. Wine reception is superb and included snacks and a chocolate tasting. The beds are comfortable and I loved being able to open the windows.

This is a great place. The only improvement would be to describe the rooms better on the web before you book.

Great hotel. Most pet friendly I have been extremely friendly and helpful staff--all the way from the front desk staff to the restaurant to the kid that carried the bedding around.
