The art design of the hotel room I was very pleasantly surprised, the room is spacious, stylish, The location is very convenient, no matter where are walking distance， good-value hotel!

Really good room . New modeled. Low price.

I chose this hotel by reading reviews of many hôtels in Monterrey. When we drove up, I was a little disappointed with the outside of the hotel (plain vanilla) but when we saw our room, I was delighted. It belies the outside: very modern, zen interior, with a gas fireplace and a good amount of space. The young woman at the reception was very helpful with information about restaurants in the area and other available activities. It is located on a main street so offers easy access to anywhere you want to go. You would definitely need a car if you stay here.

wish I could have sat in the Hot Tub especially after driving for 3 hours that day

Room was spacious enough with 2 young children. The fireplace was a nice touch and the rooms and bed were clean and good. Staff was friendly at check in/ out. Only point was location is pretty much at the end of the entire row of hotels but somewhat compensated if you are a shopper as it's just opposite the del Monte shopping area.

We were glad that we only stayed here 1 night. Room was very small. Sunlight right above our bed:(, housekeeper knocked our door 2 times( 8am & 9am) because she wanted to clean our room (check out time supposed to be at 11am). We will not be back.

Enjoyed the stay. The townhouse was spacious. My boys enoyed the stairs too. The one shocking thing was that we encountered a bat hanging from the ceiling in the hallway. We notified the front desk and they resolved the issue promptly. Would stay again.

great place. romantic firepit, just turn it off before bed or it will dry out the room.

Mediocre at best. No hot tub. Desk clerk seemed cold and didn't care about hot tub issue.

This older hotel has been completely redone, with an eye to quality and funky decor. Although our room was small. there was good use of space, and it was very comfortable and quiet. The staff is very friendly and eager to help, and the breakfast is quite adequate. The weather didn't allow for pool time, but that area looks very inviting. The hotel is located close to a large mall and restaurants, and has easy access to the highway and Monterey and area attractions.

With the exception of our water shutting off, it was great. The hotel gave us another room, upgraded to town house suite which was also very nice.

The concierge was not very helpful at all when we checked in, he was almost annoyed. This is an updated "motel"--but they did an amazing job updating it. Everything was super clean and super nice. Our room was very small, but we didn't spend much time in the room. Breakfast was very nice and they had an attendent there throughout to keep things stocked (cereals, yogurt, muffins, waffles, coffee). The grounds were very nice and there was plenty of parking (and it was supposedly sold out the night we stayed).

The hotel space and buildings were nice. The room was clean and the furniture looked pretty new. The only issue is that when people would close their doors I could hear it down the hallway in my room. It could be because we were facing the entrance of the hotel and the street, but it made me wake up a few times throughout the night. In the morning when folks were leaving I could hear them pass by my room pretty clearly. Overall, it was good for the price and close enough to the aquarium and the pier. It was also nice that there was a shopping center right across the street.

The saff was very accomodating and friendly. The location was perfect for our stay. The room was comfortable and very clean. the robes were a nice touch. The only downside was that the pool and hot tub were not functioning during our stay. We wanted to relax in a hot tub after a long day at the golf course. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Rooms were very clean, comfortable beds and good service.

We upgraded to the Executive Suite with the fireplace. Comfortable, clean, great design and the fireplace was wonderful. The service and staff were great too. We walked across the street to the Whole Foods for breakfast, as I didn't love their option. Didn't have time to check out the pool, etc. But its a wonderful design to try to create privacy and a little oasis just off a main roadway.

The walls in the rooms are very thin. There was a couple next to us that were having relations and they were very loud. I had children with me. It's hard to explain to small children what those noises were. Also, the spa was not working which is something that I enjoy while on vacation. If it not available, it should not be advertised. I was disappointed.

This was an amazingly inexpensive but really stylish place to stay last min. I have always had a great experience with personality hotels. The only bummer was the gas firplace must have been linked to the electrical in the bathroom because when we turned it on we heard the gfci outlet clicking near the sink...this went on for some time. Otherwise our room and stay was perfect!

Room was small but nicely kept. I enjoyed having the fireplace on the cold, rainy night my husband and I were there.

Small unit enough for just 2 adults. Quite modern feel with hardwood floors and free wifi. But with the floors, the drawback is you will hear all the footsteps if you get a 1st floor unit like me. The worse aspect was the shower drainage. The water would recede so slowly so my feet was standing in my own filth the whole time. Not good. Positives: close to shopping center that has a WholeFoods. Typical breakfast, cereal, fruits, muffins, danishes, etc was also included. And they have a hot pool if you want to relax.

This is our 20th year returning to The Mariposa. You would think they would know better than to give us the worst room in the hotel. We could hear everything!!! Every time someone from another room flushed their toilet, used the sink or took a shower... AND IT WAS LOUD!!! We will not be staying there anymore.

Hotel is really good, love the bed, fireplace, location. One of my complain is our room is next to a family with young kids, they ran around and turn on very loud TV. I think it probably not hotel fault or may be the wall too thin.

I often travel to Monterey Bay for short stays, and Mariposa has become my home away from home. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The hotel has a wonderfully comfortable modern look. I find the rooms to be very relaxing, and the beds are quite comfortable. Our room even had a fireplace. In the morning, there is a great continental breakfast featuring a variety of breakfast foods like granola, cereal, bagels, and danishes. The location is not exactly close to popular Monterey sites, like the aquarium and the fair grounds, but it is right across the street from the Del Monte Center, which is great for shopping and dining.

We stayed in a 2-story townhouse w/ a king bed and full bath upstairs, and full-size Murphy bed and another full bath downstairs. It was clean, toiletries were upscale, microwave, mini-fridge, modern decor, great location, dog-friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

We chose the hotel based on the pictures, which looked very promising! It appears that the hotel went under renovation some years ago, but showed lots of wear and tear. The room does have lots of perks like a fire place, but it made loud noise after having it on for more than 30 minutes. The breakfast was included with our deal; it is mediocre at best. We were limited on our selection of hotels due to our family dog. The hotel is right across from a big shopping mall and about one and half mile away from the pier. We will probably not stay here again.

We stayed at the Mariposa Inn and Suites the night before running the BIg Sur 1/2 Marathon. The location was ideal, across the street from the Monterey Mall and just a little over a mile from downtown Monterey. We rented one of the Townhouse rooms. There is a master suite upstairs, and a murphy bed and couch downstairs with another bathroom. The front desk was very helpful. In fact, we did not initially receive the correct room, but that was quickly remedied. The only recommendation I would have is to begin the breakfast earlier or extend the breakfast when there is a local run. We were not able to take advantage of that benefit as the race began at 7, the same time as the breakfast. We also left our own pillows, and they quickly mailed those to us. We will stay there again.

Right off the freeway...and you would never know it...but a great mall is across the street...including Whole Foods...Pottery Barn...PF Changs! It truly is VERY quiet...and you can't see it from the hotel really. The room was small but very cute...just perfect and parking excellent...very safe and affordable and clean! All good!

Customer service is what makes a hotel great and this hotel has great customer service. My original room was not what I had booked and the staff quickly fixed this mistake by upgrading me to a nicer room. The neighborhood is nice with a park and a huge shopping mall. I will be back.
