Enjoyed staying here, good value, quiet room, fridge and microwave. Wireless internet was the fastest I've seen at a hotel in a long long time. Thanks!

I was absolutely disappointed on my full experience to the hotel, send them stop serving breakfast an hour early to the extra blankets being dirty absolutely disgusting thrashed

Great place, clean and close to airport and I-5. Service and staff friendly. Would stay here again.

My room was clean and comfortable, but it looked like the management had not done a repair that cost more than $5 in years. Doors scuffed, bathroom shower lining peeling, etc. Very satisfied with location near airport -- just don't pay more than $50 or you will be dissatisfied.

While I understand this is a discount hotel, tha basic ammenities should still be there. Especially these days. Our Internet didn't work, my bathroom smelled of in scents, and I felt itchy after leaving. Not worth the money. We left a day early.

It was okay for the price paid for the night. I'd rate it as a 2.5 to 3.0 star inn. Everything was okay except for two things|: 1) no fan in the bathroom; 2) Room on the ground floor was cold despite the heater in the room (heater might not have worked properly). Please make sure heaters/air-conditioners are working properly. Staff is excellent; provided useful information to guests. I will come back to this hotel again.

Have stayed at other hojos and this one was filthy with terrible customer service. Very rude and lazy!

They should really mention the $100 deposit that is required. This was more than the cost off the room. It was dreary and dark and extremely unwelcoming. It felt like u were walking into the bates motel. I would not recomend this hotel to anyone. Also lets not forget how horrible the desk staff talk aabout hotel.com and expedia...hello...they bring you business!

Our room was adequate, however it was surprising that the only door in the bathroom was to the toilet. Leaving the shower totally open with the exception of a shower curtain. The fan in the toilet room did not work which made that unpleseasnt. The room was very clean, and the beds were quite good, a little too firm for me but very good quality beds and bedding. We scheduled a wake up call as we needed to make sure we made it to the airport. The call came through right on time, however, the phone was so quiet, that had we not already been awake, we would not have heard it. The breakfast was not available as we needed to be to the Airport long before the scheduled time, I did receive a to-go bag, witch contained two granola bars, and one package of peanut butter crackers. For that part, I was seriously unimpressed. The front desk staff were quite friendly and professional. When I asked what the menu of breakfast would have been, it was biscuits & Gravy, cold hard boiled eggs, and Eggo waffles . From the sounds of things, I really didn't miss much. As this review is a mixed bag of positive and challenges, I don't really care if it is posted, but it would be nice it the establishment could know to both hand out praise were needed, and address areas of challenge.

Other than the friendliness of the staff, there is nothing remotely pleasant about this place. I reserved nonlinear based in pictures, horrible idea! The chainlink fence around the parking lot lot should have been my first clue that this was not the "value" I was paying for. We were put into the wrong room, an upgrade from the king. They didn't have a king and offered to."upgrade "us to a smoking room with 2 queens, no thanks. It's like a smelly old tenement house that was renamed and not remodled. I will officially never stay at a HoJo!!!!

It was ok... small rooms, desperately needing renovation, not in Downtown Portland, quite a drive away, didn't seem like the safest place, nice for a cheap, quick one night stay. The staff was very short and to the point, and they require a $100 deposit on the room for the night in order to stay... it was kind of a bizarre experience... wouldn't book again.

Our first room smelled like smoke and they upgraded us for free for a room we were satisfied with.

This is my second time staying at this location. I'll stay here again when I visit Portland next time.

Overall nice folks, bad neighborhood, and the showerrod had been pulled out of the wall. And put back on with caulk. And there was a 100 dollar surprise deposit.

Hotel is in a confusing location. Not a safe looking neighborhood. Shuttle takes you to the airport, but I wouldn't say the hotel is anywhere near the airport. Fitness room entrance is located outside and code didn't open door. WiFi is very weak. Room was advertised as having a safe, but didn't have one. Refrigerator was tiny. There was mildew on cealing in bathroom above shower. I could hear tenants next door speaking clearly. Hotel deducted funds from my bank for incidentals instead of just keeping my credit card on file. I will not be staying here again!

I needed a place to crash, close to the airport, after a long clogging workshop I attended. This place was perfect! Right Price, Right Everything!

We really like this hotel and stay there often. This trip the room we were given did not have any of the electric outlets working accept the One the TV was plugged into. Our cell phones did not get charged we were unable to plug in our computers etc. We didn't notice until it was late and didn't want to have to stay up for a maintenance call to have it fixed. It was an inconvenience that I realized the following morning when my computer was powered down, no coffee to be made in the room my I Pad and phone had little or no charge. The room was clean, the service was otherwise good and location central to most all of Portlands attractions.

I was only here for one night since I was passing through. I selected this place for it's price. The neighborhood was ok. Late at night it did seem a bit sketchy, I made sure I can see my car from the hotel window. Location can be hard to find since the buildings are slightly behind others off the main drive. Bed was not comfy, but was tolerable for a one night stay. I liked that it had breakfast in the morning - definitely took advantage of that.

EXCELLENT Service and value was Outstanding

It was a cheap room and I know you get what you pay for but this place was ridiculess. We got there and the room we requested was not right and they had has us in a non-smoking room even though our reservation had clearly stated smoking. They moved us and that problem was resoved. Then in the second room there was used needles in it. They tried to make it right by moving us to a suite. The final blow was that the hotel charged an extra $75 on my card as a deposit and then cleared my account and I'm still fighting to get my money back. I love the howard johnston chain but would not recommend this hotel.

All good except location.

Pay more and stay closer to downtown. This place is in the cuts, kind of a shady neighborhood, location is behind a restaurant, not too much food places near by, parking lot was full. Food was typical, cereal, toast, waffles, small fruits, coffee, nothing special. Probably wont stay again if I'm in Portland again.

I liked the rooms with microwave, fridge, iron (+board). Also, decent breakfast. Nevertheless, the insulation is inadequate so the heat goes away fast and It gets cold in the middle of the night. Then, you don't have another choice that turn on the loud heater. Really good hotel though, I would come back

The hotel is really run down. Lots of updates are needed.

clean quiet comfortable

I needed to stay one overnight at a hotel convenient to Portland Airport. The Howard Johnson's near the airport provided me with this convenience. The king bed room was clean and had a small fridge and microwave which I used. The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. They provide an adequate breakfast starting at 6 a.m. which allowed me to partake of this before I headed to the airport in their shuttle van. The only downside was that the hair dryer wasn't working. I was told that maintenance would correct this asap, but not in time for my needs. I would recommend this location and hotel for those who need an easy access to the airport, especially for early morning flights.

Stayed here overnight after late flight into PDX. Met purpose, low cost clean bed for the night. No frills.

For an older hotel that have seen many travelers pass through it's doors throughout the decades. Hojo PDX Does the job as far as being conveniently located just right outside of the metro area and located far enough out from the airport to avoid all of the air traffic noise. Not to far for access to the major 84 highway and 205 freeway.

Good hotel for the price.

Good for late night, one night stay only. Very old decor, with television that did not work. Uncomfortable bed, and noisy AC/Heater. Affordable. Skip the "breakfast".

Needs updating, but good for the price and they have the cheapest park and ride if you stay a night. Would have liked to have had a breakfast like snack early morning before our flight out at 6AM....most local hotels we stay at offer a goodie bag with a donut, water bottle, fruit, etc.....I asked for a pastry item for us but the front desk person said they had to save them for breakfast when it opened....we did pay for breakfast you know, so a treat would help.

The neighborhood is not super great, but the room was cheap and close to the airport, which is why we chose it. We stayed here the night before a very early flight. It's a basic hotel, nothing fancy, but clean. Breakfast was included, but because we had to leave before 6am we were told (at check-in) that they would give us a bagged breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately that turned out to be only be a few crackers, which was disappointing.

The hotel and room was run down and smelled. I would not stay there again.
