Don't Expect Much

The only issue I had was the really pathetic WiFI connections in the room. I could hardly get my work done using it.

I would recommend to a friend.

The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Every staff member I met was very helpful and took service very seriously. Only good things to say about my stay. There is a train track/train station adjacent to the property which would be convenient for access to the NJ rail system; however, it was kind of noisy. We worked with the hotel's catering staff to do a dinner for 40 during my stay and they did a wonderful job as well. Everyone talked about how good the food and service were, as well as how beautiful the setup was. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a business stay. It is close to Giralda Farms where Pfizer and Quest Diagnostics offices are located.

We stayed three nights at the Madison Hotel. We were in town to visit family. The front desk was great! We requested a room change because we were originally sandwiched between rooms containing high school girls lacrosse players and we knew even before going into the room that they would be loud plus we have a 10 month old. They moved us with no questions asked, provided us with a crib and each day our room was cleaned and we were provided with fresh towels. The breakfast was good - nothing fancy and nothing hot - but there were bagels, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fruit and pastries. We would definately stay again if we are in the area.

The staff went above and beyond their duties and made our stay extremely comfortable. I highly commend the staff for their hospitality!

As a senior traveling on my own to a family gathering, I had a completely delightful weekend stay here.

The old hotel is very pretty from the outside but tired on the interior. Our room was quite spacious but seemed empty. The tv hardly worked-- very snowy picture and only 3 channels came in. Needed a fresh coat of paint! The lobby was heavily scented with an air freshener which was offensive . Adequate conplimentary breakfast but as the day went on the hot water was now at best lukewarm. Would not return!

This was our second stay at The Madison. It is clean, kept in good repair, and the staff are very friendly. The continental breakfast is a very nice touch!

I appreciated the level of service and attention to detail. Room was very clean. One day I was late leaving my room, and the housekeeper greeted me in the hall to specifically ask if I wanted the room made up. I appreciated her trying to make sure she could get to the room.

We went there to have a girls pajama party. Lobby, pool, hot-tub were beautiful. Exercise room is sufficient. Continental breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and comfy,nice shower, but do not expect to watch current movies or have up to date selection of TV channels. This feature is out of the 1990s. The staff are lovely and bent over backwards to help us when cable box failed in two rooms. Then, new releases were not available, nor news channles or comedy central. Hotel needs to update their TV/Movie service. Otherwise it is great.

The Maddison exudes old world charm with a classical architectural style and ornate antiques. The hotel was however built in the early 80's and has all of the modern amenities including heated pool, gym, free WiFi etc. Continental breakfast, 24 hour coffee and nightly cookies were a treat. The restaurants and bar were welcome. The staff were excellent. The a/c in our room kept triggering the safety cut off which meant fidgeting among the power cords and resetting it. Not really a good thing. This was reported and hopefully something would be done before the next guest. An excellent place to stay at a very reasonable price. I would return if I go back to that part of the world.

Although the location is not convinient especially without a car, the quality of the hotel was great, especially for couples. Loved the big fireplace in the lobby! The room was also neat and the price was very nice comparative with the quality of the hotel (although there was a special deal when we stayed). Overall, very nice hotel for couples to stay overnight!

The Madison is a gorgeous hotel built in the '80's, but modeled in a colonial style to reflect the rich history of the area. The lobby is beautiful and they keep a real fire going in the evenings. Our room was very clean and comfortable, but basic. There was no fridge or microwave. They may have other rooms with these amenities, but I can't complain too much because the price was very reasonable. Parking is ample, and there is a train station right across the street that can take you downtown. Also, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.

Wonderful holiday and good holiday rates for thanksgiving.

Except for the $50 MANDATORY charge for incidentials (I told them I would have none, but that didn't make a difference). I told them I live locally and was staying just the 1 night while my home dried out a bit from the storm - still got the charge. Other than that, it was fine. Nice clean quiet room and thats all I wanted.

Availability at reasonable rate despite Storm condition allowed me to attend a baby shower. Thank you, thank you.

We were recently caught in the huge storm up North and took a room at the Madison Hotel until things blew over. We ended up staying two nights and were so impressed by the staff and accommodations here. We were expecting to lose power, and ultimately did. The hotel was very prepared. We all were given flashlights and glow sticks, there was a fire roaring in the fireplace, hot coffee and tea were always available, and they even managed to put out a hot breakfast without power. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is first rate.

Location, parking, lobby are 5 star. Staff was very helpful. Bathroom needed some updating and breakfast area was too small to handle a busy weekend. I would and have recommended the Madison for either a business or pleasure stay.

Staff were exceptionally friendly, Continental breakfast had super selection and good food. Location is lovely. Would have been perfect without local train whistle annoyance.

Excellent service and accomodations, beautiful clean pool facility. One thing is the wallpaper in the room was a bit tired and dated, but very clean. Selected for the convenience to the NY transit toPenn Station. Over all rate is excellent.

The room was large and very comfortable with a chair and couch as well as two queen beds. The restaurant and tavern connected to the hotel offer excellent meals and great service.

It was in a very convenient area for us, the hotel is beautiful, there if a huge fireplace in lobby with sofas & chairs so you can sit by the fire, they serve continental breakfast, which is very good, hot water, for tea, and a large variety of teas is available all day long.

The hotel was quiet and the room was comfortable. The decor is old-fashioned but well-maintained. You can't beat the location. Only 2 complaints: the HVAC unit blows the drapes around which I find annoying, and the cable TV package is beyond basic, hardly much more than major networks.

Overall I thought the Madison Hotel was great. Location excellent, near NYC train. The only issue I had was that the heating/cooling system was a bit loud, ran all the time and really didn't keep the room at a comfortable temperature. It was either too warm and muggy, or too cold. Also, the bed was a little too soft and became uncomfortable after a while, but that seems to be the issue with most hotels these days. On the other had, my room was very clean and the accommodations were great. Had a very nice stay.

Very impressed with entire hotel and service.I would recomend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in this area.

The Madison Hotel is beautiful; the service is wonderful. The train is literally a block away. We rode the train into NYC---we " shopped until we dropped"--we stayed in the city until after midnight-- jumped on the train, and arrived back to the hotel safe and sound! It was a great experience !
