DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego - Hotel Circle - סן דייגו

after I took 3 weeks just browsing online with reviews. Requested, (1) roll in shower, ( I put down on request, Hotels.com never attached to my reservation. (2) requested 2 Queens NON Smoking.(3) lower floor. I DISLIKED the fact that my card was charged, REGARDLESS, $16 a day(which we stayed 3 nights) for freaking handicapped parking and we didn't even use the garage, our tire had a slow leak, hotel staff didn't know a close enough location, were from VEGAS, and thankfully my GPS mobile device got us around.,We needed a transfer bench and it was as old and outdated with all the fees they make it should be bolted into the wall not the Tub! tub was dripping out alot of water, And floor looked like it has not been cleaned in over a week or 2.Housekeeping didn't do a good job, We decided to leave our dirty towels out side door area,(Whatch out the room door slams LOUD!) We got our own towels. Loved the fact Cali has passed the new ADA law requiring hotels to be compliant with chair lifts for pools/spas, hubby liked every bit, and even wore him & kids out. Cookies were a great treat upon and checking out, eve got some for road! We wanted to extend our trip another day, and were advised 2 night min. We checkd out as planned. And didnt extend our stay. 4 days before my trip I logged onto booking.com & hotels.com, Found the price went down and was refunded the difference!! Make sure you book a hotel with parking included, and dont settle for less

The hotel stay was great. Everything in my room was in order and extremely clean. Hotel staff was very accommodating.

Disappointed in the hotel. There was nothing terribly bad...it just seemed old and worn. Not a place I would want to stay again.

We found the hotel property in very good condition--neat and clean. The family suite with an adjoining King room was a real winner for our family of 7. Heated outdoor pool, hot tub and outdoor fire pit were a big hit. The staff was excellent--very friendly and helpful with local information. You must drive to any point of interest. Two nights in a row there were very large groups of teens overwhelming the pool area.

Water drainage was an issue in the bathtub. My spouse had to remove the plug so that the water would drain. Hair dryer did not work, had to request a replacement. Room was not cleaned during the first night's stay, maid service stated that according to system, room was vacant. Laslty, parking area was less than ideal. Would have been nice if there was a direct entrance to Hotel from parking garage rather than have to leave parking area and walk outside to enter Hotel. Luckily it was not raining.

We were booked to stay for 4 nights - but checked out after 1! We checked in late evening to be met by a non-smiling, grumpy receptionist who immediately made us feel unwelcome. Thinking it was just a one off, late night moment , my daughter and I went to breakfast. The service was non-existent, I had to get up and find someone who could help us throughout. Again, non smiling server with a grumpy attitude. At that point I asked to see Manager, Josh, who is the hotels saving grace one feels, who apologised and was so helpful. However, the damage was done and there was no way we were staying for 4 nights - we checked out that morning. As a Hilton member this is the worst Hilton I have ever stayed in. There are plenty of other hotels in the area - find one that wants you and values you as a guest.

The room I was given upon check-in was fine until I discovered that the air conditioning wasn't working. As soon as I reported this to the front desk they moved me to another room, even helped me move my belongings. The staff was cheerfully helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Hotel is convenient to many local attractions. Rooms (both of them!) were very clean.

There are two complaints. One is the parking, good thing we brought are small car to get around the parking area. We would had problems if we brought our van. Two the air conditioner was not working good even tho it was cool outside the room was stuffy and we turned the air on but did not get cool inside it had a smell when we turned it on. We had to open the patio doors and let it cool down in the room not for sure if we would stay here again.

Stay was fine. Slight problem with the internet, which was dealt with immediately. Would appreciate a continental breakfast.

Clean, beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. We were SO happy to come here after a few days at a lower quality hotel in Disney. Once we walked into our room, we felt like we were at home. It was so clean and smelled great. The hotel overall is nice with a beautiful pool area including hot tub and fire pit area. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I took our 5 children on family vacation. Only wish we would have stayed the first two nights at this location! Very nice room, service, and pricing.

The sink in the bathroom backup. I told them about it everyday. Finally, they sent someone to look at it and he said that it was ok. I went in the bathroom and ran the water and the sink backed up. The maintenance guy then tried to snake it and it got worse. They moved us to another room which was hot since the air did not work. I was very disappointed. They did make some efforts with a free breakfast but the last nights stay was very uncomfortable.

This was one of the nicer Hotels on the circle that i have stayed at. I frequently travel to San Diego and stay for one or two nights and this was the first time I have stayed here and It was well worth the money.

Overall the stay was good and I would definitely book this hotel again. The only issue with this location is parking. For the $16 dollar charge that they have I expected a little more. The parking structure is tiny and hard to get in and out of. Also I'm pretty sure someone dinged the side of my car because I have a scratch that was not there before.

Good value except for parking fee. Also, during my 3 night stay, MANY unused parking spaces were roped off for no apparent reason.

Loved the Double Tree on Hotel Circle South in San Diego. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Did not have any issues with the room or hotel. Rate was reasonable.

I would surely come back soon

After a day at the Safari Park, we needed a hotel near SeaWorld. Finding a hotel reasonably priced in the area is usually not something you find in the area unless yo want to stay in a motel. Everything in the hotel was exactly as I expected. Clean, spacious and the service was excellent. My only complaint was that our room was on the 1st floor and 2nd from the front. We heard the people in the lobby like they were right outside our door. Also heard the cleaning staff vaccuming right outside our door at like 6am. We were given a handicap accesable room (we did not request) so the room did not have a bath tub.

We had an issue with our room the first night as there was a maintenance issue. The staff was friendly and set us up with the Hilton down the road with the night comped. Once we were there the stay was great.

My family and I were quite comfortable in our room, the bunk bed was perfect for my girls. We loved the set up of the room. We'll come back.

Had a good visit but we were told check in was at 3 but the room was not ready until 6pm which really sucked

First, the parking is an overpriced nightmare!! They charge $18 to park but, we couldn't even get our standard F150 around the parking garage! They have oversized vehicle parking behind the parking structure but, it's only about 15 spots that aren't monitored because there were small cars in there as well. Maybe it doubles as employee parking? The room was clean and nice but, the AC didn't work! I turned it all the way down to 62 and it never cooled off! We were right next to the elevators so we heard them go up and down all night long. Just not the level of Quality that I would have expected from a Doubletree.

Location was great and close to all the sites in San Diego. While there was not much close by in walking distance with a car we got around very easily. They charge for parking even though gates are up most of the time and people come and go. Front Desk, while friendly, did not always seem to know what they were doing. One day I went to the pool with my daughter and there were no towels. I asked at the Front Desk to have more brought and after an hour of swimming and no towels we went back to the room with my young daughter shivering from the cold and wet. Restaurant food was average at best and service style was more like a cheap diner. Lots of great options in the area, we only ate dinner and breakfast once in the hotel over a seven night stay as a result. Hotel was very clean and rooms were comfortable.

Very nice hotel. My room was huge! It was nice that it had a couch and a small refrigerator also. I'd definitely stay here again. And the best part was that all the tourist attractions in San Diego are within a 15 min drive (some a lot closer).

beds are really comfortable; parking is free with room card; internet is free and fast. Close to hotel circle for conferences.

The space with the family room is perfect, bunks and two queens

Great staff, great location nice heated pool and who ever thought of putting bunk beds in a seprate room w/ a tv for kids should be president. Jr. suite with 2- double beds and bunk beds AWSOME!!!!!! Great job guys

Overall the stay was pleasant. I was expecting a little bit more luxury but all in all it turned out fine.

It was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The room was quite warm; I think the a/c may have been off for winter. I just opened the patio door and there was a wonderful breeze that cooled the room down.

Loved it! Simple as that.

Bathroom tub enamel was flaking off bottom and shower pull lever was almost falling off the faucet. Room was cleaned every day, but towels and toilet paper were not replaced for two of the days we were there. Room service and quality of food was excellent. Hotel staff we friendly and helpful.

We stayed for a week and had a great time. Room was nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Facilities were great. Great deal for the price. I would definitely stay there again when return to the San Diego area.

Too fast but very relaxing and very convient to everything

Attractive, clean, comfortable hotel. We stayed on Christmas Eve, so I felt sorry for the staff who had to work --- the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Manager and staff were helpful and accommodating.

I really liked the Double Tree. The hotel was extremely nice and you can never go wrong with warm cookies. We took the train down to San Diego and that really wasn't the best move because we were at the mercy of the bus schedules which really didn't work well when it was time to go for dinner.Next time I think we are going to be taking our own transportation. I would most definitely stay at the Double Tree again...my fiance and I really liked our room.

Its only a shame that parking is not free

The room was clean, comfortable and modern. The two beds were queen size. It's not oceanfront, but we avoided the exorbitant parking fees and Internet fees. Overall, a great value.
