A Victory Hotel - Southfield - סאות'פילד

i booked the jacuzzi room and i paid 80 dollars for the night .. The room was not that clean. It was an old room and i was very uncomfortable. Apparently you could smoke in the room and it smelled like some from the previuos guests. The bed was clean but not comfortable, and it was so nosiy outside. Although it has a jacuzzi in the room but I paid wayyy to much for this room. I would not stay there again

poor bathroom with nasty shower curtains, dirty carpets and room was really smelly. there is this stench on the hallway like weed smoke. The place is really noisy. The location is great but management needs to work on the property. U sleep on the bed and u wake up with stuffy nose.

Not comfortable with smoke smell of room.

One of my worst nights trying to go to sleep.I shouldve stayed home, if I new i wasnt going to get any rest. I mean the ppl that was next to our room got thr abt 12am and was loud all the way up to 7 or 8am. I finally got some decent slp aftr 8a-1030a. I will not go bc. (THE HOOD)

I came in the room and it smelled like a carton of cigarettes. There was a dead roach above the television, on the cabinet. The bed sheets were dirty. Did not enjoy the stay but I got the 8 hours of sleep that I needed, but it sucked waking up in a smokey room. The lobby and hallway was clean. Room appeared clean, when walking through the door.

The room was ok basically u get what u pay for.

It was thoughtful for your staff to give us a place to stay over the telephone, However, the hotel did not meet our expectations. My wife and I are senior adults. The manner in which our needs were not met frightened us.We left after the first night. The room and carpet was not clean. To discuss some concerns to the maitre-de who spoke to us from behind a glass wall created a sense of fear, Food was limited- a waffle, coffee and cereal. I have travelled a great deal. My anxiety kept me from remaining in a hotel that limited poor service, hotel amenties and location.

Other than the smoke scent in a smoke free room the stay was comfortable.

I have to admit this place has gone to crap i stayed there in the 1993 when i was here on business and this place was a 4 star hotel in Southfield now it is a hood hangout for pimps and call girls never again i spent one night and i thought i was back in south side chicago. This place is ghetto!!!!

This was my worst hotel experience ever!! I reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights, both non-smoking. Both rooms had 'non-smoking' signs on the door, but one room reeked of cigarette smoke. The other room just had a foul odor but there were ashtrays in the room! The bedding had cigarette holes throughout it. The bathrooms had black grout and both had leaky sinks. The paint was peeling, the curtains were dirty and the closet/armoire took up most of the space in the room that you couldn't walk around. There wasn't even a clock in both of the rooms and you had to leave your license just to get an iron (no ironing board). The beds were uncomfortable and it just felt very unclean. The lobby was locked by 7p and you had to talk to the clerk through bullet-proof glass. The walls are very thin, we could here our neighbors entering the rooms, walking around in their rooms and having sex. This hotel gets alot of traffic so there are people coming and going at all hours. In addition I was traveling with some elderly folks who have a handicap parking sticker and there is only one parking space dedicated to the handicap in the entire lot. This hotel should be taken off the hotels.com website.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and was located close to the convention center I attended. Very affordable. My only complaint was that the electric sockets in my room were very loose, and the wireless internet was slow. They did provide a free continental breakfast along with a USA Today newspaper. The coffee pot in my room did not work. I alerted the front desk and they said they would replace it but upon my arrival back to the room I found that it had not been replaced. All in all, clean but average.

If you are desperate stay here. There is a club next door that "draws" all types of people. People were hollaring all night and we were next door to very loud people which is NOT the Hotel's fault. I should have suspected that I was in a "special" Hotel when at 7:30pm you couldn't enter the Lobby. You had to talk to the clerk through glass who was more interested in talking with the gentleman that was back there with him than me. The Hotel is definately "lived in" and smell. I think you guys need to look again at 2 star rating!

Staff was pleasant and helpful. Let me check in early as bus arrives quite early in the morning. Room was very comfortable, so was the bed. Breakfast was good. Free internet which was very helpful. My only problem was the location from downtown. If you do not drive it is a long way to downtown. As it was a holiday there was no public transportation, so taxis were very expensive. Also taxi service is hit and miss. Otherwise this hotel was a good choice.

The hotel is located in a decent enough neighborhood but the room was just usable. It could have been 100% better if it was clean! One of the beds had a stain on it. The pillows looked unchanged the bathroom was filthy! There were juice stains and dirt on the back of the door. There was dirt in the corners and cracks. The tub looked unclean. The toilet constantly leaked water on the floor. The carpet was dirty. I had to ask for clean sheets. The free breakfast was ok but the girl at the front desk wasn't friendly. She seemed overwhelmed and annoyed when we told her there was no more coffee. We were in MI because of a sudden death in my family so we just dealt with it for the two days we had to be there. It would be ok to stay there if you would be willing to bring clean sheets and cleaning products.

The only negitive thing about this hotel is all rooms are accessed from outside. The parking lot is brightly lit and monitored. We were 3 women on our own and felt safe and secure at all times. I would use the hotel again if the need arose. (It is only 10 minutes from the hospital at Greenfield/9 Mile Rd.)

Was orriginally scheduled for two nights, but after yelling neighbors who went in and out slamming the door all night long - I got maybe two hours of sleep- we cancelled the second night and went someplace else
