Basic accommodation. Not fancy

If you like things that personify the 70's, but also look worn and not very clean, then the Doubletree Suites in Phoenix is the place for you.

I was only going to be in Phoenix for a couple days and would not be renting a car so being close to the airport was a must. The Hilton more than met my expectations. Close to airport with courtesy ride to/from airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large (living room with separate bedrm), clean and comfortable. Also great to have dinner service and nice lounge. One minor complaint is the music that plays outside the main entrance; I found it rather loud and annoying.

We were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We arrived after a long flight from ct. Being very tired and late eve. Our check in was very fast and clerk very friendly. The room was beautiful and the bed awesome. The breakfast was excellent we couldn't have been more pleased.

Beautiful place, wish we could have stayed longer. Great location, close to airport with timely shuttle, close to the Zoo and Botanical Garden, and close to light rail line to go downtown. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel looks great from outside but inside furniture was a little dated. I didn't like the fact that they had us on the backside overlooking the cleaning bin. Reminded me of a hotel 6 where you walk to your rooms from the outside.

As I've said before, I really like this hotel. It's close to all the sights, close to the airport, yet far enough away from all the hustle and bustle. You're in the big city without feeling like you're in a big city. You can relax at the bar, the pool or even your room and not feel trapped. I have stayed here many times, it has become my favorite place to stay in Phoenix.

Overall the hotel was very nice and convenient. Room had some maintenance problems including a leak in the sink plumbing and a hair in the bathtub. Service people were friendly. Courtyards and pool our personal favorites.

This was far and above my worst experience ever in a hotel. After we had problems checking in, we were placed in an absolutely filthy room. There were towels hanging out of an open, leaking refrigerator (which stunk something terrible) and stains on the bed. The staff was completely disinterested when we brought the condition of the room to their attention. Just an absolutely horrid experience. Choose a cheaper hotel over this overpriced, nasty place (at least then you will get what you pay for!).

This was a wonderful experience overall! From the gals that helped me on the phone with the airport shuttle, to the cleanliness of the room, and quality of the hotel... very impressed! The ONLY thing I was disappointed with was the service and cleanliness of the bar and dining room and the attentiveness of the bar and restaurant staff. I sat in the bar waiting for service for 10 min before the bartender made an appearance. He may have been the cook as well but not sure. The server in the restaurant was definitely unhappy to be working.

Great price, for quality of the room. Close to airport. Great breakfast buffet. The hotel restaurant was also very good. Loved the Chocolate chip cookies.

Our stay was great. All employees were friendly and courtious. Rooms were clean and well cared for, we were very impressed. Rooms and courtyard were quiet and tranquile. I was conserned with noise being so close to airport but we didn't hear any planes from our room or the pool. No noised from ajoining rooms either. Prices were very good when you compare cheap motels with this hotel with 2 bedrooms and free complete breakfast. I will put this hotel and company on my prefered hotel list.

The courtyard pool/hot tub area was great. The complimentary breakfast is a full buffet in the restaurant. Free wi-fi in the room. Surrounded by palm trees, the hotel has a real vacation feel about it. We stayed there one night before a flight home. We would stay there again.

I was surprised at the size of the room. Very comfortable, microwave, fridge, two tv's. The shower needs a little upgrade but get's the job done. We brought our suits but didn't have a chance to enjoy the pool. Pool is open until 11pm also which is nice, we were over looking the pool and didn't have issues with noise, probably because the bedroom was located on the back side of the building. Continental breakfast is good, hours good, french toast, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, cereal, toast & muffins. All enough to get you through the day. Their cookies at check in live up to their "world famous" reputation! Staff friendly, shuttle services was great too.

We had requested a non-smoking room. Instead, we were sent to a room that smelled like an old smokey tavern...filled with the stale smell of cigarettes. When I questioned the Front Desk Supervisor, Katherine, the next morning, she admitted it was a room recently converted to non-smoking and that we should have been advised that...which we were not. Clearly whatever was done to this room was done on the cheap...not something one would expect from a Hilton affiliate. It takes a lot more to convert a room to non-smoking than a sticker on the door. Any offer of a rate adjustment...any additional Hilton points...no. Just a wife with a major headache and no desire to recommend this property to anyone.

Friendly helpful front desk, pool is very nice, surrounded by beautiful orange trees, sink was clogged in room, king sz bed and pullout couch were very uncomfortable and room smelled like cigarette smoke. Breakfast included was very good and food-a-plenty.

It was too short. Very enjoyable

Slow check in. But overall everything was great,

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Location to airport for early morning departures and quality very acceptable. Just wish we had brought our swim suits. Court yard fragrance reminiscent of tropics. Weather very agreeable during short stay. Shuttle service on time and this option nice to have after returning rental car. Chocolate chip cookies - such a nice treat.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at the DoubleTree Suites. The location is perfect, close to the airport and centrally located to visit all the attractions Phoenix has to offer. The only drawback is the sound of planes taking off and landing, but this is more than offset by the hotel amenities. The suite was roomy and clean, and the buffet breakfast was excellent. Overall, a great place to stay in Phoenix. We'll definitely stay here on our next visit to the area.

I was very dissappointed with the how al romm access was from the outside. I obviously missed this wheI reviewed the hotel online. the parking was not convient nor getting to my room. I wouls not stay at this hotel again nor any other Doubletree hotel. Very unhappy. The 4.6 star rating was quite deceptive.

We enjoyed our stay at doubletree Phoenix. It was very close to the airport and not far from the Angels ballpark in Tempe. The rooms were large and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast, which was included didn't have enough food ( seem to run out of certain items well before 10am closing time). Other than that - it was a very nice property.

complimentary shuttle bus runs every half hour on the hour - but it isn't automatic. You have to call the hotel (via free phone in the airport terminals) and ask them to come. Less than 5 minutes away. Besides the proximity to the airport, there is not much else besides the hotel nearby. 5 min. walk to closest CVS. No shops/restaurants nearby. Other than that, the hotel itself was very good.

We were in town for a comedy show. Loved the convenience of the hotel to the celebrity theater. Had never stayed at a DoubleTree and after a 6 hour drive, our concierge really made us feel welcome with freshly baked cookies out of the oven. Only concern is the thin ceilings/walls that allowed us to hear the neighboring romance. Nothing the plush pillows to the ears couldn't fix. =) Overall, great stay.

I try and stay at this hotel whenever I visit Phoenix. It's comfortable, freeway close and I'm within 10 minutes of the airport.

I was very impressed with the hotel. the breakfasts were excellent, everyone was friendly knew the meaning of service. my only complaint was the maid service. This is not to say the room was dirty, but during my stay I noticed a few things that weren't cleaned. Don't let that stop you from going though. I would stay there again.

Beautiful and comfortable suite. Friendly staff. Free breakfast buffet & airport shuttle. All at a price that makes this an attractive choice for a place to stay. Excellent value.

We checked in around 9pm and were greeted with a warm smile and warm cookies. The room was very comfortable, the bed was great! Pleanty of towles and warm water. The breakfast in the morning was way more than we had expected. We WILL be staying here again.

We had plenty of room and a great breakfast. Got there late at night and the cookie made everyone happy. Good staff.

Overall OK. Breakfast was great. Staff was responsive and friendly, but the hotel needs a little sprucing in the rooms. Not a great neighborhood for walking, but very convenient to the airport. Our TV had a weird problem with the sound disappearing intermittently. Maintenance tried to fix it, but it reoccurred. The in-room safe malfunctioned and had to be removed and opened in the shop with my computer held hostage! The room was small by "suite" standards but comfortable and quiet. Overall OK, just OK.

Clean hotel. Excellent service. Great breakfast, awesome chocolate chip cookies.

This hotel is in kind of a weird spot for Phoenix...as a native to Arizona, I would choose a different, local hotel. They charge for local calls ( 75 cents a minute) and 9.99 for internet per a day! That is not even an option for us. Loved the suites, but could of found something better.
