The Carlisle Hotel - אומהה

Everything was fine but then the TV didnt work and light from restroom was little unstable.

When I booked online it did have a notification that the pool was closed for maintenance. But the restaurant and bar were also closed except for one evening when the front desk called to notify that the Bar was open, I went down for a drink and the Bar room was open, but no one was there... Very strange. OK, here is the lowdown on the hotel, there is much construction and repair going on, so things are differently improving. Right now, the place is a little run down though. There seemed to be people living in this hotel, not just there for an stay. Also, there were people coming and going from rooms through the windows which was also a little strange. So overall, in 6 months to a year I think the hotel will be a nice place for the business traveler or a family stay. Right now, I would avoid it unless you only need a cheap room and that is your only criteria.

It looks to me that the economy has derailed many standard fix up / repair items..... One of the entry doors was..."Not use able"..... The swimming pool had a letter as you entered stating...words to the effect "out of order".. It was most noteable that many Room Numbers had been stolen or broken so a Hodge podge numbering plaques were used in their place..... Simply put, it is a hotel in need of some serious attention...... The Carlisle name will need help if not addressed SOON..... Other than this the stay was OKAY...

Very nice room for the price. Friendly staff. Quick check-in. Convenient location to highways.

The room was very confortable and the front desk staff was excellent. I was dissappointed the pool was closed for repairs. The heat index was in the 100s during our stay...the pool would have made the heat more tolerable. The hotel offered a continental breakfest but most of the food was gone by early morning. My wife and son went down to eat breakfest at 9:00 on Saturday morning and the only food left was cold cereal (with no milk or juice).

The hotel staff were nice and the location was fine but the best thing about the room itself was the shower had good water pressure. The water temperature was inconsistent during the shower from cool to really hot. The pool was closed which was only a slight annoyance. If I had only been there for 1 night the room might have been OK but I was there for over a week and was not impressed.

The cleanliness of our room was good, but we were short on towels. There were only two bath towels. The hotel is definitely older and it shows in the wear of the carpet and furnishings and the outside of the hotel was not kept up well. The pool was under maintenance so we were not able to swim. We were given a game pass to the arcade across the street - but it was only good for one game so we spent the amount of money I saved on renting this room (instead of a different hotel) on the games since we didn't have the pool for entertainment. I probably would not stay at the Carlisle again with my family. It would be fine if I was just traveling through and wanted a decent bed for the night.

It was disappointing as the pool was closed for some maintenance. Never got notified. Checked in around 6 pm. Lady said we could go up the street 4 blocks to swim. Got in our room and looked at the paper that place closed at 5. Well woopie.. We had some very unhappy children. The shower handle to turn water on about pulled out of wall... The ceiling in bathroom leaked from up above...Would not go back there ever again!!!!!

Very clean and customer service was good, however the room was in need of repairs. Half of the outlets were broken and unusable, the bathroom door didn't shut, the drawers were missing handles, and the room was a wifi dead spot.

Pictures on the sight are, shall we say, optimistic. When I checked my presence seemed to be a major incontinence to the clerk. Pool was closed. Decor was laughably bad. Even the tp was third class.

Satisfied a 2 day only need. No more to add--either good or bad.

The hot water heater did not work and they offered to cancel my reservation.

We had no hot water during the entire stay, apparently the hot water heater broke down. ( why couldn't it be fixed on a Friday ? ) When we arrived Thursday night a billboard said cocktail hour 6 - 8 p.m. We were there at 7 p.m. when we went to the bar, the cleaning people were still cleaning, and the bar was not set up. ( ice, money, etc. )

The hotel did not have hot water all weekend! The pool was out of order. One of the front doors is broken. The TV remote was missing batteries. The continental breakfast was a joke. And there is a "club" on the property that was surrounded by police officers on Saturday night. It looks like the hotel owner has given up on this property. It's cheap to stay there and once they get the hot water fixed, it will be tolerable, but do yourself a favor and use this one as your motel of last resort.

The hotel is older but the rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. When we arrived at the hotel on Friday afternoon (5:00pm) we were informed that there was no hot water and that we could cancel without penalty (which was nice) However, the conference we were in town to attend had caused no vacancy anywhere in town-so we were forced to stay-however the hotel did offer a half price refund for the inconvience-which was also decent. The next morning we had to leave by 5:30m-but we were assured the problem would be fixed by that afternoon-well we arrived back at 7:00pm to still no hot water! The hallways are shabby and not clean, the public restroom in the lobby was dirty with the trash overflowing-and was not emptied our whole stay-also the pool was not in working order-the outside of the hotel was unsightly(as to landscaping and trash) Too bad-I used to stay at this hotel years ago and it was beautiful then.If we could have found an alternative hotel we definitely would have moved-even though the stay was very inexpensive in the end. Cold baths are not worth cheap!

Let's be honest, you are looking at my review because you saw the price point and you wanted to know if you would get stabbed or if its a bed bug nightmare. And the truth is, it isn't either one of those. I'll get the positives out of the way. The front desk was very friendly. The room was very clean. It's very easily accessible to the downtown area and I-80. It comes with a free breakfast too (as long as you like toast, bicuits and gravy or cereal). So why so cheap? Well, when we got there, the boiler was not working. They offered us a 50% refund if we still stayed, and we were only there for two days, and I'm used to cold shower camping, so we stayed. The pool didn't work either. It was one of those rare early May days where the highs were in the 90s, and if you wanted to chill some beer using the ice in the ice machine, you were out of luck. We were able to get about 2 solo cups of ice, then it stopped working. By the way, if anyone ever offers you the half off through hotels.com, know that it doesn't work like that. Hotels.com offers you some kind of coupon for your next visit. Not really the same thing. But what the heck, experiences like this are what vacations are made of.

Arrived late . Hotel staff friendly. Went to room had to assemble bed frame before sleeping. Dust mice(balls of dust and lint) were under the bed, several of them. Also along walls in the open. Sheets were stained. Buggers were on the wall across from bed. Bathroom was cleanest area in the room, Breakfast area was clean on the surface. Area had questionable characters coming and going. Restroom in lobby area never had paper towels even after telling staff.

This wasn't a bad place to stay, the bed was hard as a rock (as is with most small hotels) and the continental breakfast left something to be desired. But if you need a place to sleep for a night in Omaha that is pretty central to the city this is a decent enough place. I would stay here again if I ever have cause to go back to Omaha and not need to be downtown.

The hotel room was clean which was nice but the towels were scratchy and falling apart. The bed was hard and the breakfast was meager with bread for toast, 2 strange cereal options and hard biscuits and gravy. The pool although quite large was scary to go into and the roof kept dropping water into the pool. If you are just looking for a clean room to crash then if you can get it cheap it is the right hotel. If you are looking for something more, then keep looking.

The worse place we have ever stayed!! Drty, loud, run-down. Best thing they could do is take a wrecking ball to it.

Walking into this hotel feels like you have stepped back in time 20 years. The furnishing and ammenities would have been sub-par then. Only 2 towels were in a room with 2 beds, reserved for 3 people. Housekeeping seems to go a good job trying to keep the place clean, but everything is so old that the overall feeling is old and dirty.

The staff was great however the house keeping left a lot to be desired. There was no linens for the pull out bed in either room. On the second day of our stay they didnt put sheets on the king bed just the mattress pad and the comforter.

I pulled up to the hotel and the trash can in the front was on fire...about 1000 cigarettes too many. Horrible smell from fire.Then I had to wait 25 minutes for the front desk clerk to return so I could cancel my reservation.

Sad that a once 4 star hotel has deteriorated to a 2 star. But the room was clean, the mattress looked new and was comfortable, the price was right. No newspapers and a high carb continental breakfast (no eggs.) Unlike other reviews, the pool was usable.

This hotel is a nice hotel, the room smell funny when I walk in, kind of like old. Ask bout the swimming pool, and I was told that before using it I had to call becuase it was low in water, and they werent sure if I could use it, that made me unhappy.

hotel decor is a little dated but staff, rooms and pool are all great! easy access to major roads and interstate is a definite plus. fuel and lots of restaruants and a grocery store nearby. very quite hotel and neighborhood. an excelent place to stay and if you book online thru hotels.com you can get one of the cheapest nightly rates of any hotel! i will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel in Omaha the night before an early flight out of Omaha. This hotel is on the opposite side of Omaha from the airport (20 min drive), but we picked it because it was cheap and it had a pool for the kids. The price was real, but the pool was shut down unexpectedly for a couple days, including our stay. Overall, the hotel was a good value. Our impression is that this used to be a very top end hotel, but the hotel was simply abandoned when we were there. It seems like this was having a real effect on their ability to keep the doors open and provide top notch service. Everything was very clean, but they provided the minimum in towels, soap, etc. They also had a inexperienced person behind the front desk. Conclusion: If the pool had been open, this would have been a spectacular bargain. Even so it seemed like a good deal.

We made our reservation in part because the hotel had an indoor pool. On checking in, we were told the hotel pool was temporarily closed and would be open the next day. We got in our room to find mildew on the toilet and too few towels. They couldn't get us hand towels and wash cloths. When we returned to the hotel the next day we were told the pool was still closed and would be closed for the duration of our stay at the hotel, something they had known when we checked in. They were waiting on an inspection from the state to reopen the pool and when it hadn't happened by close of business Friday (before we checked in) they knew it wouldn't happen before we checked out on Sunday. We would have moved to a hotel with an indoor pool had we known, but they didn't give us that option because they lied to us. After going out for the evening and spending a small fortune entertaining my children when I entended to be swimming, we returned to find two families in the swimming pool. My irate 12-year-old called to front desk to be told that the pool was being inspected. We went to the pool and looked in, seeing small children with their parents in the pool. When I confronted the night manager he kept trying to tell me they were inspecting the foundation. Then finally simply told me that if I could see the pool I wouldn't want to swim in it anyway. After the poor customer service, the lack of cleanliness and the out-and-out lying, I asked for a refund. There was no manager around to talk to me. The employees I spoke to were very compassionate and most empathetic, but nothing was done. I was assured I'd hear from someone and of course I haven't. I would highly recommend staying far away from the Carlisle.

After our awkward check in we got up to our room and discovered a broken toilet. After having to call the man hater again she was not eager to get us help but said she'd try when she got a chance. Finally a tiny woman woman knocked on the door saying she wasnt matience but checked out our toilet and said she would have to call for help or move our room. !5-20 miin later after my finacee had fixed the toilet himself the lady returned with a room key to another room saying they don't have maintence on the weekends. Also offering my finacee a job since he fixed the toilet himself! Overall a unusal experice not a terriable room just weird surroudings!
