Wonderful place to have a great get-away weekend!

This place is in a great location in the middle of the city but feels like it's out in the country. From our room we could only really see an unlandscaped forest like green space with a creek. Pretty amazing when you consider where you are. The service was top notch as well as friendly and helpful. The spa facility and pool area are absolutely incredible with any kind of activity that I could want. Self parking is a little clumsy and difficult to navigate from the garage to the lobby. Not bad but not great. This is one of the best hotels I've ever seen and may be my favorite. The only downside was an overwhelming air freshener perfume smell in parts of the hallways as well as the stairs going to the parking garage. There was a staffing issue curbside at checkout. There were 2 guys trying to load and unload cars at peak time. There probably should have been at least 6. We were lucky and only had to wait about 10 minutes. Some waited much longer. I would actually consider this to be a destination hotel and look forward to coming back.

Enjoyed our stay as usual - very comfortable and relaxing

I think the facility is very good. You avoid the Galleria traffic which can be a major hassel. The fitness facility is one of best in the country and there is no charge. The food service at the club is very reasonably priced and the service is good. Unfortunately, the housekeeping staff and guests speak too loudly in the corridors. With doors having a 1” undercut the sound pours into our room. The rooms are spacious but the closet is very small.

After a mixup with my reservation (which was Not the hotel's fault), the staff at The Houstonian went above and beyond in making my stay exceptional. This hotel is first class all the way with a great spa, fantastic walking trail, wonderful gym and great food. I can't wait to go back.

It was just fine. the place is sprawlingly Texas-sized large and access by foot was difficult because of some construction. it is a really nice place, though. a bit too traditional in style for my taste, but then again, it's Texas - not necessarily known for cutting edge design

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Outstanding service. The rooms are a little bit old. The bathroom tub wasn't particularly fancy. The facilities are outstanding. Overall, a great stay. Compared to the omni, which is close by, I would say the rooms are inferior but the facilities and service are far superior.

This hotel never disappoints. I brought a large group of people to the hotel to celebrate my son's birthday and all my guest loved the hotel. The most comfortable rooms and excellent service. On teh weekends the hotel is uauslly packed with wedding parties, so plenty of people around having fun.

Great stay. Loved the heated pool. Lots of workers outside. Not sure who to tip. One time I just saw them standing around counting their tips. Otherwise would def. Return

Houstonian was very nice. The grounds were a little confusing but the overall stay was nice.

The wife and I loved it. The fitness center and the classes are great. We are definitly coming back.

Good food, good service and accommodating for couples with babies. Strawberry stuffed French Toast to die for!!!

This was an elegant, accommodating hotel. The service was great and the lobby felt like an English manor.

Whilst I'd say that this hotel is well preserved for one of the few older style hotels in Houston, it does need much more TLC in the rooms and corridors. When walking around the hotel my senses were assaulted by horrid chemical air fresheners pumping through the air conditioning system. This was so bad it made me choke! In our room, there was a strong smell of what I can only compare to sweaty feet - and NOT ours! $15+tax for self parking was a bit of a liberty too!!!!! Wouldn't' go for this one again.

Great stay overall, but it would have been nice to know the shortened hours of the club/pool facilities during the Thanksgiving weekend.

The hotel is very nicely appointed with excellent amenities. We stayed over the thanksgiving weekend and were very happy with the room, the service, and the spa. We will be staying there again on our next trip to Houston. I would highly recommend The Houstonian to anyone looking for a hotel.

relatively inexpensive hotel with one of best hotel gyms in the country. BUT - they use chemical and artificially fragrant air fresheners and carpet cleaners to such an extent that it is impossible to breathe. As someone who tries to keep my environment healthy, I can no longer stay at this hotel

We stay at Houstonian several times a year and its always clean, comfortable, great service, and a great fitness facility.

Everything was perfect! Service at every turn, great food, bar and rooms with every creature comfort you could want.

Wonderfully relaxing, great staff appointing to every detail. And the entire building always has a fabulously refreshing scent!

This hotel was awesome and worth the rate - it is one of the most child friendly hotels, offering lots of outdoor space, an incredibly family friendly pool with baby pool, an an indoor children's climbing gym - in addition, the staff exceeded four star expectations and catered to my children, as well - the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the ambiance embodied a Houston feel - this hotel would be appropriate for any age and purpose - the location is unbeatable and is easily accessible by 610 and I-10 -

I think my stay was horrible I paid for certain type of service at booking but when I checked in no service was provided. I paid to stay on the concierge floor however I was place on another floor and couldn't use any of the concierge floor amenities. I feel like I was ripped off and then they charged me for items that were never taken out the mini bar. I would say the Houstonian is a con artist.

it was one of the most pleasant stays at a hotel that i have had.the staff were vary helpful with all are needs thy try to make your stay as if the hotel is a home away from home and thy are vary good at it i dont think i would consider staying anywere else when i go to houston

Personnel were courteous and the next time I stay in Houston, this is where I will stay. I have to say, it is very clean and has all the amenities, you need.
