The staff were all friendly and helpful, the little perks much appreciated, the made-to-order breakfast omelets a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The free shuttle was a great bonus!

We stayed 6 nights at this hotel and loved every bit. Outstanding Service. We attended a conference held at the Sheraton Crown Center. We stayed at the Q Hotel rather than the Sheraton or Westin because of price, free parking, and location. Our room at the Q Hotel that we booked on Hotels.com included 2 free drinks at happy hour, and not just a can of beer, but real draft beer from Boulevard brewing. We could also choose wine or well drinks. Outstanding breakfast included with room. Breakfast buffet well stocked, dining area very clean. Could order omelets, waffles, eggs, bacon, etc, from the chef. Fresh fruit and yogurt, scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, cereal, instant oatmeal, etc, at the buffet. Location a big plus because you are within walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars. From our observations, nightlife is alive and well on Westport road--Not so at Crown Center. The hotel offers shuttle service within 3 miles of the hotel, bicycles for guest use. Walking distance to Main street MAX bus. Ample free parking in the hotel parking lot if you bring your own car, which is what we did. But we also used the hotel shuttle and the Main Street MAX bus. The room and bathroom a little on the small side, compared to Fairfield/Hampton/Comfort Inn rooms. But, the Q Hotel and Spa room was clean, air conditioning worked, and no issues with furnishings in the rooms. Only major complaint is that the WiFi was slow. But I would definitely stay here again.

Spend a night for my anniversary, it was nice, not a real big room. Breakfast and happy hour was great.

Our first trip to KC. Would definitely stay here again!! Great breakfasts with great service. Transition time of year where it was difficult to regulate room temp but staff tried very hard to make it comfortable as quickly as they could. The hotel was a bit "greener" than we were used to but appreciated the concept and quickly got used to it. Refrigerator in room was well work the nominal fee. Freebies like the breakfast, free parking and happy hours were GREAT and worth quite a bit. Location easy to get around from.

loved the complimetary shuttle service to the sprint center for a show. every employee was welcoming and accomodating. would definitely stay here again.

Love the bright colors of the hotel!! The free breakfast was awesome, I love the cook she was funny, and she took pride in her cooking!

I travel to KC every month. This the best value, best staff and excellent location. I have stayed at other hotels in the Westport and the Plaza area. The Hotel Q's staff and service is the best hands down!!

Very comfortable. Lack of in-house restaurant the only shortcoming, but there were restaurants nearby.

It was very relaxing and the staff was extremely informed and helpful. The free shuttle service was a huge plus!

We arrived from the airport around 9:30 am, much to early to check into a room. However, I was not feeling well so staff went out of their way to get me in a room as early as possible, way before noon. Thank you. It was a very busy weekend due to the Big 12 Tournament and the shuttles seem to run not stop all day and into the night. They definitely worked hard to be sure all guests got to their destinations. We would stay here again.

It's cheap. The wireless is slow. But they give you two free beers at happy hour. Meh.

The room was not properly cleaned, empty beer bottle on floor by bed, plus was noisy.

We had an amazing time at Q! We can't wait for our next weekend getaway and stay there again!! Free cocktail hour was a hit with us!!!

Wonderful location, excellent happy hour and breakfast, and cute decor! Glad I found this place!

Hotel is in historic Westport area with restaurants & shops close by. Ask for their recommendations of restaurants to match your taste & budget preferences. Comfortable hotel with some updates in furnishings & decor but not a chic boutique hotel. Most hotel staff were quick to provide service with a smile. Several staff were truly exceptional.Their own shuttle service made it easy to travel to places of interest such as the midtown so that the location of the hotel wasn't as inconvenient as first thought. Definitely - we will go back there again.

This hotel was updated but you could tell there was some wear and tear. The room was clean and fresh. The furniture was not updated, but no problem. This did not affect my stay. The shower was great, again older not updated but it worked. The linens were nice and bed was very comfy. Although some parts were not updated the right ones were. The staff and others raved about breakfast, so I was excited to see what they meant. Unfortunately the hotel staff was not paying attention and after waiting ten minutes to get their attention so I could have an omelette I moved on because I had only a limited time. If I had been able to have the nicer breakfast it would have been better.

It was a great place to stay overall. Comfortable (except the room was too hot --on a 61 degree day, we could not access cool air and the room was really warm), good breakfast, prompt and courteous shuttle driver, and an enjoyable "happy hour" with free drinks. Definitely would stay there again.

really loved the decor, the friendliness of the the front desk and kitchen staff, and the free shuttle to anywhere nearby. great rooms, yummy breakfast, and happy hour were just all a part of the charm.

Good location. Loved the golds gym membership pass. The only complaint is the breakfast service. They weren't very polite. The set up down in the basement wasn't very organized. It wasn't very inviting. The food wasn't bad through.

Not only was our stay very affordable it was probably one of the best hotel experiences in a while. From the welcoming staff to the free drinks at happy hour, free on demand shuttle service and made to order omlets in the morning, I couldn't ask for anything more. The hotel is conveniently located right in the center of old westport with many bars, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. I will definitely stay here whenever I'm in the area again and/or recommend it to anyone I know.

All in, not bad...2 free drinks (local draft beer & wine), nice breakfast, but room was nothing special. Bed was ok, shower ok, etc...they made up for this with the drinks & breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff ready to serve. Only complaint is room quality.

I recently changed jobs and travel to the Kansas City area is at least a once a month occurance. I discovered The Q when I was fed up with the high prices in the Plaza. The Plaza is within walking distance and The Q has a courtesy car to take you within a 3 mile a radius. The service at The Q is the best I have ever encounter. On a snowy morning I went to the car, the general manager of the hotel was scraping all the cars in the lot! This is just one example to the hard working staff at The Q. Stay here and you will be back every time you are in the great city of Kansas City!

We like this place for location and the made-to-order breakfast. Rooms are small but clean. Stingy on towels but it goes with their "green" status, I suppose.

The room was very clean. Bed was kind of hard but it was tolerable. The shuttle service was great. We had a balcony room which was nice because my husband smokes. It was a smaller hotel but had a great breakfast and other special services.

A friend and I booked a double room at the Q Hotel a week or so in advance. Upon check-in, the front desk folks asked if we really needed a double, since they were having "maintenance problems" and some of the rooms were unavailable. I said we did, and they said they didn't have any left. We were given the option to take a queen with a sofa bed, or a queen with a rollaway and the promise that we'd have a double the next night. We chose the second option. The staff at the desk didn't seem very sympathetic to our problem, and the only consolation prize we were offered was to get our complimentary evening drinks right then because we had missed the window for those. I assume we were only allowed to get them right there and then, with our luggage and everything, because when we came through the lobby a bit later, there was nobody at the bar. The room and rollaway were comfortable enough and we were moved to a new room the next day without much hassle (though we had to interrupt our sightseeing to be back at the hotel at 1pm to move our stuff). Our double room was pleasant enough, although there seemed to be no way to control the temperature in the room. Every setting on the thermostat just blew out hot air. It was about 80 degrees in the room, so we cracked the window open and it helped. Overall, I can't complain too much, because I got a very good deal on the room(s), the hotel was clean and in a great location, breakfast was great, and the parking was free.

no complain from me! Staff were excellent. The room is a little small but is suitable for the price I pay for. Have a wonderful tome.

We really enjoyed out stay! Well worth the cost (which is very reasonable), especially considering you receive breakfast with made to order omelets, and two cocktails per person at the bar each evening. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again!

I suprised that they have updated the rooms. Brand new carpet and bedding. Extremely comfortable beds! We really enjoyed this! The staff was so very nice. Every one of them! One negative. The hallways smell like onions. Almost to the point of body odor nasty. Not the rooms, just the hallways. We now know this is due to the breakfast served on the bottom level. The onions that they cook in their omelets carry throughout the hotel property. Other than that, a fantastic stay!

In the Westport area where many local bars and restaurants are located and a short walk to Country Club Plaza shopping. If you're looking for great value and a departure from "chain" hotels, than the Q Hotel is for you. Funky vibe, comfortable rooms, excellent staff, complementary breakfast and passes to Gold's Gym. Great stay.

Our friends staying at the Q paid for the shuttle to Arrowhead Stadium. Unfortunately the shuttle driver decided to pick up other people after the game instead of the our friends that they had left at the stadium. Our friends were stranded by the shuttle. They called the shuttle driver and he told them to get a cab. Managment made things right, but stranding people at Arrowhead among 60,000 fans left a bad taste in their mouths. Shuttle drivers should always pick up the people they dropped off. Everyone knows that!

Average hotel. Nothing fancy or outstanding. Location was convenient for the purpose of the stay. I did plan to use the shuttle service to the Sprint Center, but the 'schedule' of the van was set and the staff was not helpful. Breakfasr was nothing special. The staff was very noce, but the food was not well presented and cleanliness was not up to par. Would not stay here again.

The Q hotel and spa is a lovely facility. It is close to all kinds of fun spots, and is a fun spot itself (the bar-tender is a lovely person). I was a bit disappointed this trip as my room was without heat, and the nights got into the 30s. The management provided me a space heater and extra blankets, but the disappointment lingers. Breakfast was fantastic with omlettes to order, but the rudness of the surly cleaning woman in the breakfast room just didn't fall in line with pleasant nature of other hotel staff.

Staff were friendly and the breakfast in the morning was great! Good location as we were going to a concert 2 blocks away. The only thing was that the shuttle didn't run past 10pm so we had to walk back to the hotel at midnight. Would have been nice to have the choice to have the shuttle pick us up, but we did feel safe walking back. Overall it was a good stay and would definitely stay here again!

We found the staff extremely helpful, efficient, very warm and very friendly and engaging. Asked often if we needed anything, asked about our son's wedding, etc. Found Nora to be especially helpful and her appearance immaculate and very pleasing to the eye. Appreciated the shuttle service, also the early am coffee in the lobby was a real plus, as I did not want to wake my husband while making coffee in the room. Loved the convenience of the location.We were so very pleased that my son was allowed to borrow chairs from the hotel for a pre- wedding party at his apartment. Rooms rather small but very nicely furnished. However we did not like the entry light coming on with the bathroom light , as I'm an early riser, and needed light at the vanity, the big overhead entry light disturbed both my husband and daughter who sleep later. That being the only derogatory, overall our stay was extremely pleasant.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Great loaction in Westport area - close to about 15 bars/restaurants! Close to Kansas Speedway - only 20 minutes away.
