Mix up with rooms, poorly handled by receptionist but sorted out once manager took over.

It was a good hotel and good service, no problems at all.

Staff was friendly and efficient. Location was excellent - two blocks to Grafton street, far enough away from hustle for a good night's sleep. Room is spacious and fairly well appointed. Be mindful European standard is as you would find in major US metro city - room was larger than expected. Does not have mini bar or fridge - this is Europe. Wifi not great - but cafe across street (Cafe Tri Via) has good wifi and good coffee! Old world charm and comfort at a great price. Would stay there again.

Best thing I can say is that I'd stay again & recommend it to others.Worst thing is that it has no views & is a bit dark.

The Davenport is a fine old hotel one block form Merrion Square and the back gate of Trinity, a better location would be hard to find! We spent 4 nights and were generally pleased until our last evening when the plumbing in that bathroom made terrible banging and sucking sounds. When we arrived back after midnight the room stunk of sewer gases, but being late, we did not want to change rooms so we remained. At 7:30 the next morning we were awakened to the banging and horrific smell, a very unpleasant way to start the day!

The staff was great, and the hotel was nice. I will stay there again without a doubt.

the stuff was helpfull but there was little knowledge to tell us about the city. The hotel is expensive with nothing really to do in it.

Perfect location, very friendly/helpful staff. Rooms nice, decent size and clean. Best thing: helpful, friendly staff. If wifi had been free, it would have been perfect!

Excellent location, lovely breakfast, very accommodating.

Clean, well-maintained rooms. Very friendly staff. Spacious rooms. I had a 2 year old with me and he slept well in his cot (the only problem for him was a lack of mini bar, and so no refrigeration for his milk at night). He loved his rice crispies for breakfast

This was my second stay here, but room so old and worn looking. . Location great. Reception staff very friendly.Wifi should be free.

This is a great hotel very close to Dublin city centre and on the doorsteps of Trinity College. Only improvements that I could make is to have some news papers available to people staying there- none were visible. Great self service breakfast

Stopped at the Davenport hotel for a long weekend, it was in a good position for shops bars etc but the room was very disappointing very small a window that was overlooking the entrance roof. TV wasn't very good & the room needs updating. suggest that you get breakfast down the road at Kilkennys department store in Nassau St its only a few minutes walk away.

The Davenport Hotel in Dublin exceeded our expectations: it was very well-located at Merrion Square, a 10 or 15 minute walk to virtually everything; the building itself was spectacular (it was a former church); front desk service was exceedingly helpful and accommodating; the room was enormous by European standards and very well cleaned; the bathroom was updated, with modern amenities. This four star hotel served as a perfect base for a six njight trip to Dublin. Well-recomended!

The hotel is beautiful inside and out - the rooms are great except for the heat system. Was a struggle to figure out how to manage the temperature and overnight was way too hot. Staff is great, eager to help and able to provide great directions and recommendations. The location is a bit frustrating; about a 30min walk from the train station with luggage. Not very easy to find without directions. Would stay closer to the shopping district/train station area next time but overall perfect experience for the price paid!

Hotel good position in relatively quiet street, near to all night life. Had a good few days - went to an Irish show music and dancers at a country pub, Guiness store good but don't walk from here take taxi. Shops bit disappointing, a lot of the usual UK ones also here but a few different ones.

Good service,good price and within walking distance to many attractions!

OK, it's not the Merrion, but for the price they charge, the are conveniently located in the City Center, near everything, with a perfectly fine restaurant and bar. For business or pleasure I would recommmend the Davenport for anyone who is budget conscious, not spending a lot of time in their room and wanting a decent place to stay!!!

The hotel was ideally located for my purpose. Staff were courteous. Rooms were of a high quality.

Excellent Location, great service. I used the hotel for a week while doing exams in city centre. Would recommend to anyone considering staying in the general D1(city centre North)/D2(city centre South) area. Safe location, close to restaurants, bars, shops and Trinity College/DIT. Room was on the top floor with some nice views of the city, it also meant it was quiet and made the task of studying easier.

It has been very convenient, very comfortable and very close to anything in the city centre. Room very spacious, very clean, bar and restaurant services good and good price too. the only thing I was a bit disapointed about is that we were placed in the first floor right in front of the entrance of a local pub and we were travelling with a 2 year old and the beggining of our early night was a bit noisy. The staff helpfull and nice.I would have thought for the price we would get breakfast and free wifi too though and that is another handycap but still... overall I will definitely repeat next time if possible.

Very good

Great hotel great location only 10 min walk from the city centre. Rooms were big with large comfy bed. Bathroom was a bit dated. Overall had a lovely stay the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Davenport is a nice location close to museum and Trinity. 10 minute walk to the Temple Bar area as well. My room was the Jr Suite - very large and updated, comfy bed, and clean.

I enjoyed my stay very much. Only comment or suggestion to improve is to have FedEx or UPS service for guests who want to ship some things home. They sent my box via US Post - but I have no tracking information, and don't know when it will arrive.

Old fashioned elegance yet still providing everything you wish for in todays world. Hotel was excellent, room size was adequate and had everything you would need. The restaurant had a nice selection and the food was well presented and very tasty, as was the guiness that washed it down. Overall very satisfied, staff very friendly will still here again

Parking is awkward, staff is nice. Did NOT eat there, so don't know anything about it. Room clean, comfortable, very well located. Moved to Davenport at the last minute from a much pricier B&B and SO glad we did.

The hotel was everything that I needed to be! The front desk and management was excellent help. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

It was good, just one quibble - when I ordered a daily paper I expected to get one each day of my stay, that didn't happen, apparently you have to order each day?? other hotels I have stayed in have always done it each day unless requested not to, much better idea don't you think?

Hotel vey good. Great location. Disappointed with hotels. com as payment initially made to them was not on the hotels computer when I went to check out after a 5 day stay. I was obliged to pay for my stay twice and while I was subsequently reimbursed it took furthert phone calls & was definitelly an unexpected inconvenience
