Days Inn - Harbor View - סן דייגו

The room itself was great... clean and comfortable.But trying to contact the hotel before we arrived was bothersome... I phoned several times and let the phone ring at least 18-20 times with no answer. This was over a time lapse of an hour or more. THEN... the parking was horrible. Yes, we were a late arrival so had to settle for what space was left. But the next morning we could not get out of the parking spot, because the spaces were so close together and there were BIG vehicles parked on both sides of us and behind us. We ended up walking towards our even... fortunately found a taxi a few blocks away.

For the price, it was a great deal! The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but not too bad especially if you are going to be out all day. The motel is placed in a central location to Balboa Park/San Diego Zoo and Sea World. I would definitely come here again!!

People in the hotel were perfectly kind and professional. I really enjoyed the stay!

Convenient, affordable and great if you want to stay close to the airport for an early flight out. It's not the Ritz, but the remodel made it clean and comfortable. Run more like private ownership than a chain...FREE shuttle to and from the airport is woth it!...Right there you have a very smart owner! I will stay there again for sure.

Enjoyed having breakfast and refrigerator and microwave. Location was perfect. Somehow, it was very quiet at night despite being so close to train and airport and major street. We enjoyed the pool, too.

Overall this hotel gave my family and I a good opportunity to enjoy our vacation. Our room was clean and organized and close to many fun places to visit. It had ocean view:) and parking space available! We enjoyed breakfast. No limits to what we ate. We are planning our next stay at this hotel in San Diego. The only thing I recommend is the following: Showers need a mat or door instead of curtains. Water goes to floor.

(1) Overpowering scent of disinfectant or deodorant in room -- quite unpleasant and unhealthy; (2) Mattress had plastic wrap -- not very comfortable when you're constantly hearing the crunchy sound and feeling discomfort from sleeping on cellophane.

.The location was great right on PCH right by. The water.it close to gaslamp district very conveinent. Estuarat and bars are near by.beds are comfortablethen expected. It was a good choice....

This hotel was pretty descent for the price I paid. Down the street was the harbor and the other was little Italy. Only stayed for a night and it was nice.

A no frills motel. The service was great, and the room was very clean. They took the time to fan out the washcloths, etc. would definitely recommend it.

This hotel had it's ups and downs. The downs: Continental Breakfast is very small, shuttle service to and from the airport is not completely free, a lot of construction going on around the hotel. The ups: Good Price, Great location (Walking distance to bay, Little Italy, and Trolley Station), Clean Rooms. Overall, this is a good place to stay for the price. Sure, there are better hotels in the area if you want to pay an extra $80+ a night.

Requested a 3 star. Hotel could be updated, but the location couldn't have been better and the staff was very accommodating (considering we were new to San Diego.). Was a good choice for us.

The place is extremely worn. The dresser had huge holes in it and the air-conditioner had a high pitch screech. The man who checked us in was less than helpful--apparently he was having a bad day. Thankfully, another staff member was kinder later in the day when we needed to print off airline tickets. Overall, I'd not rate this very highly. It best feature is its location.

It is not fancy or expensive. If your goal is to have a good nights sleep and find your car unmolested in the morning, then this is the place for you. The decor is dated but the room was clean and quiet. The price was reasonable and the location easy to access.

We had a good stay, a little train noise once in awhile but not a big deal.

This is our second time at this Hotel .We were very satisfied both times.The Hotel is located across the street from Cruise Port and about 10 min. From Airport.Car rental is only 2 blocks away.Restaurants are close by ,Zoo, Sea World and shopping Larger room is better if you have lots of luggage.

Overall, the hotel was clean and quiet, in a good location for going to conferences or other events downtown, with free onsite parking. The internet connection worked well, although the TV connection was a bit fuzzy. The breakfast isn't anything special, but if you're OK with toast, you'll be perfectly satisfied. My only real complaint was that when I first arrived at the hotel, no one was in the office; when the attendee finally came in, they didn't apologize or otherwise acknowledge having made myself and the other customers wait. However, other than that, the service was perfectly acceptable, and the rooms were clean and serviceable. I would stay here again, given the price and the convenience.

My first impression was that the outside looked like a seedy motel. The front desk attendant was not friendly and didn't say more than two words to me. For the price, the room was below par and I even worried a little about the crime level in the neighborhood. I will not stay there again.

Arrived very late, but caught airport super shuttle bus which they paid for. Near airport. Only problem was internet only worked reliably in hotel lobby. Claimed due to the weather!!

Located in front of a "Harbor" when we got there the view was really disappointing. Not so much a view as more of a construction site. They were developing something n front of the hotel so you could barely just see the bay. They had a small lobby which also substituted as their breakfast room, or not so much a breakfast room as more of a side space with tables and chairs. The room we stayed in was by far the worst of my stay in America. The room smelt like a smoking room even though it said "Non Smoking Room" and the bed didn't feel as clean. They said it had cable tv but the TV was as basic as anything. We came back one day with our door room closed but not pulled closed so the cleaners didn't do their job properly. Don't recommend to anyone.

Close to San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, Shopping centre , Restaurants , Car Rental Companies. Great hotel for the money.

For the price, the motel was OK. Continental breakfast was the usual. Denny's is down the street. Although the train tracks are a half block behind the motel, we didn't hear the trains because we kept the air conditioner going.

great time , we love location. manger Andy excellent service very resourceful in city events... sucks construction in all san diego but not hotels fault,, the view is always better by the bay...

I must say that I have stayed at other Days Inn's in the past, and I have not had an issue. I was staying there attending a conference at the SD Convention Center, and I was looking for a reasonably priced place to sleep (I was leaving early and coming back late for the 3-Day convention.) First, the good - friendly staff, relatively clean-appearing room. Next, the bad. The room had a strange smell - - combination light smoke/sanitizer/staleness. I could live with it (I propped the window open when I came in the room, and kept the fan on, which brought in fresh air from the outside.) No huge big deal, except when I left the room after 3 days, and packed my clothes back up, the smell went home with me. My suits/dresspants/dress shirts had to be re-cleaned, just to remove the smell. It is my first time experiencing anything like it. Again, a shame, as everything else regarding the hotel was fine. Maybe I just had bad luck with the room selection, and I should have requested a different room. If I thought the smell would have permeated through my belongings, I would have.

Very nice location & surrounding restaraunts

My boyfriend and I were looking for a cheap place to stay for the weekend and found this hotel to be the cheapest. We found this hotel to be decent and not too bad. The room was ok but had very limited channel selections for cable. The bed was comfy and I would definitely consider this place again if I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel room.

This is an outstanding small hotel with some rooms having amazing direct beach and ocean views, as well as views of the Newport Pier. The rooms are decorated in over-the-top victorian detail, however this is in keeping with the age and style of the property, so it works. Breakfast, which is included, is a lovely buffet of freshly-backed individual quiches as well as fresh fruit, pastries and breads, cold cereal, yogurt and coffees and juices. First-rate quality on the food, which can be eaten in the small dining room or the terrace overlooking the ocean and neighborhood. Note that the property is in the center of the entertainment district at the waterfront of Newport Beach, and is surrounded by bars and restaurants, so it can get quite noisy on weekends. The hotel does provide earplugs, and for light sleepers, these would be a must. The restaurant below the hotel rooms is the best in Newport Beach, and offers wonderful happy hour specials on drinks and food until 6:30 pm, making it a great value. Free parking is also included, which is a must in this busy locale. Free WiFi is also included. Be sure to ask for the ocean-front rooms! A memorable stay.

Bed was clean and for the most part I only was in the room to get a few hours sleep. There were red smudges on the light switches and crusty stains on the table and end table. Water temperature fluctuated while in the shower from scalding hot to freezing cold depending on who else was taking a shower or flushing their toilet in the vicinity. Continental breakfast included coffee, oatmeal, toast, and cinnamon buns.

good location and easy access to tram and shuttle to/from airport. Very helpful and nice staff. Very basic amenities in the bathroom with thin towels and the cleaning service kept taking towels even when hung up (not consistent with water saving sign). Over all a good price for what you get.

Fantastic location. I stayed this place for 3 day conference. You can take trolly down to the Convention Center, free airport shuttle, 2 blocks away from Little Italy. Excellent.

I had a very enjoyable time at Day's Inn. I was very impressed by your hotel clerk, Andy. He was very helpful and courteous all the time. This hotel has a very good location. It is close to the airport, the cruise line terminal, Little Italy and downtown. There is a 24-hour Denny's two blocks (easy and safe walk) from the hotel. I did miss there not being a snack machine on the premises. Blowdryer in the room was great. I thought breakfast was a little skimpy. Basically, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, toast, juices, milk, coffee, and bananas. Perhaps I missed the hard boiled eggs, mini-bagels with cream cheese, oranges and apples. Beds were very comfortable, lots of pillows. Did I mention about Andy? Of course I did. Again, very helpful about everything, where to eat, and how to get around. Thanks, Andy!
