HOTEL DE LA MONTAGNE - מונטריאול

We only spent one night - then we found out the the Hotel was closing. You would think that the service might be not so good and people with bad attitudes, etc. My wife and I found just the opposite. Wonderful and helpful workers from the person who park our car, the wonderful staff at the front desk checking us in and out to the bell Hop with 29 years that helped us when we left. Thank you so much for a wonderful night. David & Evelyn

I happen to be visiting the hotel just days before it is scheduled to be closed and then demolished. There really isn't much one could review about a hotel that is facing its last hour.

Great Location. Friendly service. Homely feel. only down side was they ran out of supplies like body lotion, and a little old style.

Great hotel. Too bad they are demolishing this hotel shortly as the building renovations progress. September sometime is the timeline for demolition. But till then, it would be a great place to stay. Comfortable and cool, room was great. Rates were good for the type of hotel. Right downtown Montreal.

Great room and clean. Madonna concert next door, lot's of great restaurants on the way to the Bell Center.

A nice stay, the terrace bar has a nice view and a wild evening scene. If you think you are going to use the pool, make sure you have a bikini on and a drink in your hand or you won't fit in. But the hotel itself was very nice and a good deal - sad to see it go. I was a bit concerned that being in the last few weeks before it closes, it would not be kept up but the staff did a nice job. We liked the room and it's proximity to St Catharine Street etc was very reasonable.

We heard they are closing the hotel, tearing it down and rebuilding a multi-function complex. This is suppose to take place in Sept. We believe this may have been the issue with our stay. Why fix or maintain what's there when they are tearing it down in less than a month. Disappointing, we had a wonderful stay last time we were in Montreal.

Loved the roof top pool and views!

The hotel was comfortable and the room with 1 king size bed was very spacious. The room was equipped with an iron, a pant press as well as shoe polisher; great for getting ready for that big meeting. Location was excellent. Close to shopping and Metro station. Caution: the pool upstairs is a meet market.

Great location, good price, very clean, however the staff are not very friendly. The bar on the 20th floor and the bar on the first floor attracts a lot of drunk, rude people. Do not book a room adjacent to the staircase, you will be awakened several times during the early morning hours by drunk patrons running down the stairs, and banging doors. Overall, we would book again, simply because of the great location and reasonable price.

it was great! however charged us for things without letting us know ahead of time that those charges would be present on the bill

Unfortunately they will be tearing down in the latter part of September to fully rebuild as part of the block's upgrading. Hope they re-open though. The stay was great. Comfortable room, clean, nice people and very accommodating.

The hotel staff were great, but we didn't realize there would be line-ups and bouncers to get onto the elevators due to the rooftop bar's popularity. Great hotel if you are swinging single looking for a date, not so much if you want to avoid drunks in the elevator. A party place not really for relaxation - perhaps if you go during the week it would be quieter. The location is central but close to Crescent St. anglophone bars and strip club, so again not really a family oriented kind of hotel. Carpets quite old, somewhat dated decor on oak. Not quite the french charm I had anticipated

What a great spot! Loved the total ridiculous opulence of the front lobby. Great modern room, with fantastic shower and super comfortable bed. Balcony was a bit sad - but nice to have somewhere to get a sense of the day's temperature. Great to have a roof-top pool and bar - but just a heads-up - the pool is a bit Vegas style - during the hot weekends days it is SUPER crowded (it is open to the public) and pretty gross. The bar however is a great spot for an evening drink to watch the sunset.

Great hotel, within walking distance of shopping, great restaurants and old Montreal. Staff were very knowledgeable and the hotel has a piano bar with daily entertainment, which was excellent!

Great hotel with real old-fashioned service. Showing some wear (rumors are owners are converting to condos) but great price and location. Don't plan on using the pool; its open to the public after 11:30 a.m. until close and is a real party pit. The hotel does a good job taking care of guests; they have security on weekends for crowd control and ensure guests can go to the front of the elevator line. Great location; if they are closing its too bad but you could get a real steal for what is otherwise an expensive (but great) city.

Bit of a party hotel but security right on top of everything. We felt safe and loved our stay there. Staff very professional and location at heart of downtown shopping and great restaurants.

great location with a nice pool on 21st flr overlooking city. Close to all high end shopping and restaurants. Breakfast at hotel was very classy and great service with all bilingual staff no matter where you were. Rooms were very spacious. aagreat music was played at the pool with the right mix of ages to enjoy. definitely would stay here next visit to montreal...St Catherine str just down road and the best montral smoked meat sandwich at the deli. had a nice steak at newtons just up street on crescent str.. Every place we went was within walking distance and every place was very friendly.

I would stay there again, nothing to complaint about.

The hotel was great the problem is they are closing in Septmember

We liked the location of the hotel but the overall establishment seemed dodgy due to the company attending the patio and upper deck area. We often had to wait at the elevator with people who were going to the 20th floor and would cut in line in front of us while we tried to get to our room on the 8th floor. It caused for an uncomfortable experience. The room was nice and the service was very good. Our cleaner did a very good job and we were quite happy with that. It was the elevator and the people who frequented the hotel and bar upstairs that really made the stay uncomfortable and took away from the hotels appeal. We would not likely stay there again for this particular reason.

This is probably my favourite hotel in downtown Montreal. Great location, nicely-furnished rooms, and a private balcony for smokers. Fantastic two-tiered bar and pool on the hotel's roof. Free wi-fi internet is a plus as well.

The location was perfect but the hotel is not a four star.

One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because it has an outdoor pool. We were traveling with our 9 and 13 year old boys and a pool was a necessity. Let's just say the pool was a bust. It is small and grubby and opens to the public at 11am as a bar, with lots of smoking and drinking and inappropriate language. Such a bummer. An indoor pool would have been a better choice. Also, although the room was spacious, an update is in order--it was very dated and tired looking, and had a weird odor. We loved the city, but will not be staying here in the future!

It was great and great location. Unfortunate this land mark will close in sept. If your looking to stay in Montreal before sept this is the place to go

While this property was probably four star at one time, it is now faded and old. It has the amenities, but the tile in the bathroom and shower were stained. The coffee pot leaked and the carpet was worn. Their service and the restaurant were good. Had I known the age of the hotel, I would not have booked it. The property is closing in September .

Really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel de la Montagne. great location very funky Hotel staff and room were great and will stay there every-time I must return to Montreal.

The hotel was clean. The service was good, but the building itself was very old and dark. The decor needs an upgrade. Also the air conditioner in our room made an unbearably loud noise all night long.

What a gorgeous hotel with lovely staff! The location is amazing but I will say having a bar on te roof can be a pain as in the night time the elevators service is well slow! The fact that every room has a patio is pretty awesome and the service is amazing! If you call for something - it shows up within 10 minutes. Also on the last day the elevator was broken so the security guy came up as lugged my bags all the way to the lobby god bless him! Also, the bathrooms are gorgeous and he beds are really comfy! For the people saying the bar as loud at night- I never heard a thing! I'm so sad they are getting rid of this place :(

it is too expensive to add another small bed for kid, $40.00?salot of hotel only charges $10.00. the bath room door was too loud.

everything went great. the room size was good and the location of the hotel was a big advantage,
