Pod 51 - ניו יורק

זהו מלון צעיר ברוחו וקצת "היפי" אבל תחת בעלים חדש (ישראלי!) שלקח על עצמו לשדרגו לרמה סבירה. המלון נוח וממוקם היטב. לקחתי חדר זוגי ליחיד עם שירותים ומקלחת בחדר לאדם יחיד. המחיר סביר גם בהגדרה זו בהתחשב במיקום. אני מסופק אם זוג היה מרגיש בנוח בחדר כזה. ארוחות הבוקר נחמדות ובמחיר סביר אבל כדאי להחליף את הפופים האופנתיים שמפוזרים בפינת האוכל בכסאות נוחים יותר למי שאינם בני עשרה. האווירה במלון לא פורמאלית (במובן החיובי), שירות החדרים טוב והמלון נקי ונעים באופן כללי. בהחלט פתרון סביר למי שמחפש שהות זולה יחסית בלב מנהטן מבלי לרדת לרמת מלון פשפשים.

מלון צעיר, מעוצב ומדליק. צנוע אך נוח, במיקום מעולה. למרות שמדובר במוסד שתיירים רבים מתאכסנים בו, האווירה היא ביתית ומאירת פנים. החדרים קטנטנים ועם זאת יש כל מה שצריך. גג עם נוף נהדר, ארוחות בוקר טעימות, וצוות ידידותי. בקיצור, מקסים.

מלון מתוק, נעים ולא פלצני.הצוות נחמד, העיצוב נעים ונותן אוירה של בית.הכל נראה ומרגיש צעיר ונעים.

אני ממש נהניתי בשהייה שלי כאן. אל אף שהחדרים קטנים כפי שציינו כאן אחרים, גודלם כלל לא גרום לי לאי נוחות. זה היה בדיוק מספיק מקום בשביל מה שהייתי צריך והחדרים היו מאוד נוחים, נקיים ואופנתיים. בהחלט שאתאכסן כאן שוב.

אני נהניתי מהשהייה שלי במלון הזה וזה היה בדיוק מה שחיפשתי. המחיר היה מצוין בעבור המקום הרב בחדר. היה לי חדר עם חדר אמבטיה פרטי ואפילו שהיה ממש קטן, אני חשבתי שזה היה "תא" מושלם בשבילי. לנתי בחדר עם מיטה זוגית והמזרן לא היה נוח כפי שקיויתי אך בהתחשב במחיר של החדר, זה היה נהדר. הסידור של החדר והתפיסה של המלון הזה הם מאד ייחודיים והם כל מה שהייתי צריכה בנסיעה הזו לניו יורק. אני אהבתי עד כמה שהחדר היה קטן וקומפקטי. במחיר הנכון, הייתי נשארת שם שוב. אם הייתי באה לשבוע, אולי לא הייתי רוצה חדר כל כך קטן וודאי הייתי מחפשת במקום אחר. גיליתי אמנם שהקירות הם מעט דקים כנייר אך זה היה שקט כשהיה צריך להיות. המיקום נהדר, האוירה במלון נהדרת. זה לא מלון בסגנון היוקרתי ביותר שאני לעיתים מחפשת אבל לנסיעה הזו לניו יורק, זה היה מושלם. המלון הוא בדיוק כפי שהוא מוצג בפרסום.

זהו מקום ממש נחמד. אחרים התלוננו שהחדרים הם קטנים, אך זה לא היווה בעיה עבורי כלל. חשבתי שזה קטן, אך לא קטן באופן מגוחך. זה היה חמים ובדיוק במידת המרחב המתאימה לי. המיטה הייתה נוחה. לא היו לי כל בעיות לקבל גישה לאינטרנט האלחוטי. זה היה מעט רועש בלילה, אך לא באופן מופרז, וזה היה סוף שבוע. המיקום הוא נהדר. זה מאד קרוב לרכבת התחתית וכן ניתן להגיע במרחק הליכה להרבה מקומות. אני קיבלתי שירות נהדר בזמן שהותי שם. חדר האמבטיה המשותף לא גרם לאי נוחות כלל. המקלחות היו נהדרות! חדרי האמבטיה היו ללא רבב ואף פעם לא הייתי צריך לחכות. המנורות מעל הדלת הן תוספת ממש נחמדה. בסך הכל, אני חושב שזה מקום ממש נחמד. זה נוח, במחיר סביר, ונעים. אני בהחלט הייתי נשאר כאן שוב.

ממוקם במרחק היטב מאתרים ומהרכבת התחתית בשביל דברים יותר רחוקים. החדר היה נקי. קטן אך נחמד וצפוי. החיסרון היחיד באמת היה שבית הקפה לא היה מאויש מספיק/שירות איטי.

החדר היה קומפקטי, אך ידעתי זאת מהאתר באינטרנט, שמספק מידות של מטר מרובע. אלא שכאן נעשה שימוש מתוחכם במקום, כולל מדפים. הנוף מהחלון היה נפלא: מנהטן בשלמותה. ואני מאד אהבתי את הסביבה באזור ההסתעפות של השדרה השלישית ורחוב 51 - 51st Street. בנין האו"ם, הסנטרל פארק, ומרכז רוקפלר נמצאים בסמוך. הייתי בכולם אך, אני אוהב ללכת. המלון עכשווי, מבלי להתאמץ יתר על המידה. הקליינטורה היא בינלאומית, דבר שאני אהבתי. הצוות היה נחמד ומועיל ביותר. אני מגיע לניו יורק פעמיים בשנה לענייני עסקים, ונשארתי בהרבה מקומות שונים. ה Pod ממוקם בין הטובים שבהם...

היינו זקוקים למלון במיקום נוח באמצע העיר וה- Pod היה אידיאלי. חדר ה double en-suite שלנו היה קטן מידיי כדי לסובב את המיטה לכן אחד מאיתנו נאלץ לטפס על השני על מנת להיכנס או לצאת ממנה.

התארחתי כאן לאחרונה עם ביתי במהלך סיור לביקור בקולג'ים. הרגשנו בטוחות, החדרים היו נקיים והצוות מאד חברותי.

התמונות של החדרים באינטרנט הן מאד מטעות. התמונות באינטרנט מציגות את החדרים כמאד מרווחים ומוארים כאשר הם למעשה בדיוק ההיפך. החדר שלנו הרגיש כמו חדר ארונות קטן. לא מרגיע בכלל. אך באופן כללי המלון היה נחמד. הצוות בדלפק הקבלה היה מועיל ונעים. הלובי מאד מזמין.

אני אהבתי את The Pod Hotel. אני וחברי הטוב ביותר שהינו בחדר bunk bed. השירות היה יוצא מן הכלל, הכול היה נקי, ואף כי החדר שלנו היה מאוד קטן, נכנסנו שנינו ושתי המזוודות שלנו יחד ללא בעיה. זוהי דרך מעולה לבקר בניו יורק, והמיקום אידיאלי. המון אוכל ואתרים במרחק בלוקים, או הליכה זריזה מאוד לרכבת מספר 6 שתיקח אותך לכל מקום בעיר!

החדר שלי היה בקומה שבה חדרי האמבטיה לא היו בחדר אלא כמה מהם במסדרון. תחילה לא הייתי בטוח שאוהב את זה בכלל, אך בהתחשב בכך שהייתי בחוץ כל היום בקושי שמתי לב. החדר היה חמוד, קצת יותר גדול מתא רכבת; העיצוב היה צבעוני עם מוסיקה סבירה שהתנגנה לה במסדרונות, מעליות, וכו'. הצוות היה צעיר וידידותי בנוסף להיותו מועיל. תמורת המחיר, זו הייתה ממש מציאה אם אתם לא דורשים שהמלון שלכם ישמש אתכם להרבה יותר משינה. בהחלט, אתאכסן שם שוב אם אצטרך.

Great location, rate better than most hotels, but the rooms are smaller than a cabin on a cruise ship. Shared baths are clean , and easy. Tv's are small, and pillows are the worst. They need better mattress also. That's why the rooms are less than 150. You get what you pay for !

The hotel and staff are terrific. The room is extremely well designed -- as long as you like things small, well organized, and tidy. Lots of places to creatively put stuff away. We had our own compact yet well thought out bathroom. But a couple of times I used the communal one down the hall and it was a lot more "okay" than I thought it would be. Don't know that I would ever go the "shared bath" route; but in a pinch... Highly recommend Pod 51. Somewhat surprisingly :-)

I stayed one night in anticipation of spending a few days at my daughter's home. I didn't want to spend a lot of money but wanted to be in this vicinity as my daughter works there. I read the reviews which were positive and thought, "It's only one night!" It was what I expected (per the reviews). Rooms are small, but clean. Felt like I was back in Paris! I actually slept with the windows open! It was that quiet. The concierge was most helpful. I was able to leave my luggage for the day as I explored the area. The best French restaurant is next door. Famous Ess-man Bagels and Dos Caminos are right around the block. It is 4 blocks from the United Nations. Great location. I would stay there again as well as recommend it to anyone who just needs a convenience place to stay.

Pod51 is fine for a short stay in NYC. The room was tiny but adequate. Clean and modern with a helpful staff and very nice lounge on the roof and lobby. It's great for a short one or two night stay.

Liked the noon checkout time and the 2:00pm check-in. Great location, wonderful rooftop sitting area, a comfortable lobby restaurant with a nice outdoor deck and delicious & reasonably priced breakfast options. The rooms are very small but they have all the amenities you need...this hotel model may not be for everyone.

Room so small its actually cool, like staying in a bunk in a ship complete w metal sink. But this is one of the City's best bargains - clean, efficient and kinda fun. Will stay over and over. Clientele is high end, well dressed but this is about great value and cant beat the location!

Ok but considering there are often special prices in NY this is on the high side for a pea 'pod' size room.

I totally enjoyed the roof deck and garden area , while having a latte from the hotel cafe. It was a wonderful way to start and end the day of running around the city! Room was nice for sleeping. This stay, I had a private bathroom and next time, I might try the shared bathrooms.

Dirty,small,noisy,uncomfortable , well used. No A/C, elevators not working. Never ever again

Hotel rooms in NYC tend to be small - Pod rooms are smaller! But up-dated, well-designed, clean & comfortable. Pod 51 is in a great Mid-town location on the eastside with many good restaurants and the subway a couple of blocks away. It was quiet. The bathrooms down the hall were clean tile + marble, good fixtures. Only complaints: insufficient pillows and no in-room coffee maker! I don't need a hair-dryer; I do need a coffee machine!

My twin bunk room was nothing more than I expected, and nothing less. There was no line for the shared WC or shower. For half the cost of fancier hotels, it certainly meet my needs.

This hotel is clean, comfortable and in a great location, within walking distance of Times Square! Would definitely stay here again on a return trip to New York. My only small complaint was that the WiFi signal was very bad in our room on the 4th floor. But apart from that, there was a great atmosphere in this hotel and a pretty cool vibe!

This was the second hotel I stayed in, on the way back via NY. I had experienced better value from my prior hotel in the region, which was only marginally more expensive but significantly better on all fronts. Pod 51 is comfortable and provides a place to sleep, but that's about it.

The room was smaller than I thought it would be, but we got accustomed to it. Friendly and helpful desk, concierge and snack bar staff. You must visit the rooftop garden deck at night for the splendid views. the location could not have been better. There were all kinds of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance as well as public transportation options.

If you offer free WiFi its a good idea to actually have some signal strength in the rooms themselves. There was really no internet in this hotel at all. Must have disconnected five times within a period of an hour before I just gave up. Hallway noise goes right into your room. I have stayed at plenty of NYC hotels (and a lot of them quite small) and there are any number of better options for low cost hotel rooms.

If you are looking for value without much compromise... this hotel is great. I will stay again.

Yes, you have to be comfortable in a small space and sharing a bathroom (rooms do have sinks). There is a small desk to get work done and you can go downstairs and work on one of the dining tables or sit on the couch. Location is perfect for the subway or to grab a cab. The downside is not enough ventilation on the floor and especially the bathrooms with showers. Leave the light/fan in the bathroom.

Rooms very small and bed not very comfortable. Location is great. I would stay there again due to location and price.

I enjoyed my stay very much. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff was always very helpful and friendly. I was in town for a 3 day conference, and it was exactly what I needed in terms of space. I will definitely stay here again. One detail to point out is that there aren't irons in the rooms, so ask the front desk for an iron if you have anything that needs pressed.

This is a great little quirky hotel that is close to a ton of nice restaurants and bars. If you're looking for places to go to dinner and have drinks nearby, this is a fantastic location as there are ~20 bars/restaurants right around the corner. The hotel itself is fine - small rooms and small bathrooms but we were only there to sleep so it was fine.

The room is teeny and the bed is hard, but for the price relative to other New York hotels, it is worth it. I had a room with a shared bathroom, which was clean and fine. The room did have its own basin. Pod is walking distance to Times Square and Broadway and there are lots of nice restaurants nearby. Concierge can organise an airport shuttle, but I was annoyed that it had to be paid for with cash. I would stay here again for its convenience and price.

Overall it was a good place for the cost in the city. However the rooms really are extremely small and the beds well I have slept on better. Didn't get much sleep there my only night as I tend to be a lite sleeper and with the noises of the city outside and the 2" gap under my door I unfortunately heard every late nighter that returned to the hotel. The place is probably best suited for the tourist and has a great European vibe to it. Great location as it is only a block and a half from the Lexington (6) subway line.

The room is very efficient (small) but did have everything required. Location was key - 2 blocks from subway. All areas of hotel were clean, well maintained but hallway lighting on floor was dim.
