Enjoyed accommodation with helpful and friendly staff

Just bump over for a night for an early morning flight out of Sydney. Near the airport and accessible by an airport hotel shuttle. However, it would be great if the airport hotel shuttle is complimentry rather than paying AUD$6 per way.

Hotel very comfortable, close to airport, convenient to leave car in lock up garage when going away for a few days. Accommodation not too expensive and parking even more reasonable.

Getting ready for a 14 hour flight this hotel provides great comfort and value

Hotel staff were extremely rude we stayed in this hotel two weeks prior to this visit on our way overseas. The first stay was lovely the reception staff were great however on our return we were met with rude and vindictive staff . We would never stay with holiday inn in future we were wrapped after our first visit but so disappointed on our return staff are inconsistent and ruined the last leg of our holiday ! Very disappointed ! Beware the holiday inn

Really enjoyed our stay the hotel reception staff were very helpful and friendly ! We joined up to be priority members and will definitely stay with the holiday inn in the future. We were even allowed a late check out ! Thank you !

I'm not usually one to write these notes but I think it is fair to say that this hotel is a pit stop and not great value.. The entry is modern and reasonably nice however the rooms really need an update. There is internet available if you want to pay for it above the hotel rate. Our TV did not work. The hallways were really dirty. I expect a nice clean modern hotel for this kind of money this was not even in that ball park. Can't recommend

Close to Sydney Domestic Airport but overall condition of the hotel is poor. The Holiday Inn Brand needs to invest in a refurbishment. The rooms are poor quality - noisy airconditioner, stains on the upholstery of the furniture, a shower curtain over the bath and some of the gym equipment in non working condition. Good service spolit through a poor product.

Very convenient & met all my needs

Cot was requested for our son but room was set up with a double and single, was corrected after a few hours. The security bar had been pulled from the door and left on the side, not a big issue for me but it showed a lack of attention to detail. Car parking was $15 for the night but you need to leave the keys with reception as space is limited (not ideal with a large hire car excess!) Restaurant was very good.

The Holiday Inn was found to be of a very good high standard with the quality of service, comfort and maintenance of the rooms excellent. This establishment is very well located. It has the convenience to be able to quickly and easily be within reach of transport whether travelling to the International of Domestic air terminals or being able to quickly and easily make your wayt to central Sydney or other areas of Sydney.

Very pleased with hotel. Staff exceptionally helpful. Room very comfortable. Only complaint was that the carpet in the room needed to be cleaned. Quality of the food provided in both the bar and main restaurant were of very high quality and flavorful.

Stayed here after travelling from Canada. Headed out on another flight the next day. Great location, easy check in, and great room. Restaurant was average. Easy trip to downtown Sydney from the Train Station down the road.

For an overnight, it was perfect. The location was about 10 minutes from the terminal, and easily available by shuttle. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was courteous.

This hotel is nice if you have to get an early flight. Not for light sleepers since noise from other rooms and the occasional plane can be heard. Also: if you have to use the Internet: after a couple 100 MB you're get the option to have or lower speed or have to pay AUD 0.10 extra per MB. Even after having paid almost AUD 30,- already for the connection for a day.

IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WE WALK TO THE TRAINS AND GET AROUND VERY SAFELY AND EVERONE WAS SO PLEASANT TO BE AROUND.. THE BEDS WERE TERRIFFIC!!

Very good , clean room and sheets. Good to have spare toothbrush, I forgot mine but shame I left my amenities kit behind!

We chose this hotel as we were just needing an overnight stay whilst we were in transit returning from an overseas holiday. The location was a bit further than I expected from the Airport (approx $24 taxi fare), however the hotel itself was good. Given the short overnight stay we did not use look around much at all. We ordered room service which was very good quality food. Overall, I would stay here again.

Interior of hotel is a bit jaded, but clean. However poor personal service - operator did not call back twice with info requested, room service food was incompletely delivered. Appears to be very short staffed. Too close from airport for taxis, and the shuttle pick up was a long wait and the shuttle cabin was dirty. Not a great experience.

The hotel is very well maintained and the proximity to the airport is what makes it so appealing. They do not offer free internet but everything else was quite nice.

A convenient no-nonsense hotel close to the Airport. I will use it again.

If you are looking for an overnight stay close to the airport, this does the job. I had discarded the cheapest options as too depressing, and a couple of mid-range hotels that were a better deal, hoping to find something a bit better. On that point I was disappointed and wish I had saved the 50 or so AUD difference. Hotel badly needs a refurbishment, and crowd at the bar (only spot where you get 20 mins free wifi) was iffy. A drunken scuffle started and was taken upstairs... to my floor, unfortunately (ended after about 30 mins). Hotel staff helpful and pleasant - they're a notch above the hotel itself. Given how close Sydney city is, it may well be worth staying in town instead (15 mins by taxi)

All in all the hotel was clean and in good shape. The paint in the bathroom was chipping and the A/C didn't work. Not that I wanted or needed compensation due to the heat in the room, but it would have been a nice gesture. The room had amenities such as a fridge and a drink/snack bar. The rates were also better than some of the lesser quality hotels. It would also have been nice if there was other restaurants nearby.

The rooms were dated despite the recent makeover. Carpets were rather dirty. The shuttle to Airport was $6 per person so for four of us it was cheaper to get a taxi. For its proximity to the airport a reasonable place.

We arrived back from oversea after a month staying at some iconic hotels. We didnt expect the same experience as staying at the Savoy or the Plaza In New York, just that the basics be covered. Immediately noticeable was that there was no one available to take four pieces of luggage to the room. In the room itself we found no bathrobes hanging anywhere, least of all behind the bathroom door where they should have been. Instead we found a dirty bath towel hanging there. Indifferent service overall and slack housekeeping.

This should be an acceptable airport hotel, but little details make it unacceptable--something hotels should be more aware of. First off, it's not in the center of the city but they charge $15 for parking, and the parking lot down in the basement level is a confusing and very tightly packed place--I spent 10 minutes looking for a spot in there when I just wanted to get to sleep. Then the internet--they charge for internet which is infuriating enough, but they also limit your date use, so a 2 hour session comes with 50MB, after which there's a whole of confusing things that happen. This just feels cheap. How much does a MB really cost the, and is it worth losing the good will of the customer? The room looks nice enough, but somehow it's not that nice. The bathroom has garish white fluorescent lights which would make anyone look awful. The main room has these lights too but at least there are alternatives so you can just leave that light off. There aren't enough power outlets (a constant problem at hotels). And something was wrong with the television so that every channel looked like an analog signal from the 1970s. On top of this, the hallways had an ugly dim light in them, and the lifts felt rickety. With a few of these details fixed, the hotel could be absolutely fine. But clearly those running this hotel don't know what makes a hotel good or bad. As a final insult, the hotel does the Australia-wide thing of adding on 1.5% to the bill. All around I felt totally cheaped out after a night here and would not stay again.

Fine place to stay if you're just there for the night... the outside of the hotel is very modern but our room looked like something out of the 1970s. Bathroom fixtures and room furniture looked like it belonged in an old James Bond movie. Other than that, train is less than 2 blocks away and it is very close to the airport. For that aspect it was good.

Pro: Close to airport, great staff, 1 block away from train station (20 mins ride to downtown for about $8 round trip), free Internet (under 200MB), pretty big room Con: Can be noisy when the plane flies over, carpet is bit dirty, not many eateries around the place

The Holiday Inn at Sydney was a clean and comfortable place to stay prior to leaving on our long flight back home. The only negative was that the breakfast buffet is expensive ($25) and there are no other options nearby. It would be nice if you could order something less expensive (e.g., a nice bowl of cereal and toast!)

Easy shuttle service from the airport and being only a couple blocks from the Mascot metro station make this a great location for getting into the city for the day then back to the hotel for an early flight.
