Hotel Maximilian - פראג

We loved this hotel. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in the city. The room was very comfortable; breakfast fabulous. But what really made all the difference was the staff -- helpful, friendly and efficient.

We were very pleased with our stay at the hotel - well appointed for the price, very well positioned near the main sights but also very quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Maximilian in 2008 and decided to stay there again when I recently returned to Prague. The beds are sooo comfortable. The bathrooms are upscale basic but are white and clean with quality shampoos and soaps. The service is young and fresh; if asked, they will help you do anything. Breakfast is abundant with a gorgeous buffet and a generous a la carte menu which is also included. The only negative, if you are using a phone card, the only payphone is outside, in front of the building,:-(

I'd never been to Prague, and this hotel's location was a great to experience the city. Very nice hotel also, with very helpful staff. Be sure to ask about the complementary pet goldfish (interesting story there). Free breakfast & Wi-FI were key. Even the cab drivers knew this place, which helped me alot. Be aware that the in-room DVD players don't work with American discs.

I travel a LOT, esp international. So I have seen plenty of good & bad hotels. And this hotel was great. Just a 5 minute walk to the Old Town Square, 10 min walk to Jewish cemetary, etc. And great, friendly staff. Breakfast was great as well - tons in the buffet to choose from. And wifi was strong (a must for me). Overall a very positive experience!

I was dropping my daughter off for her term abroad and had a wonderful experience. Ideal location, great service and big clean room.

The Maximillian is a lovely hotel, our room was in the Black house which was lovely and comfortable. Room included a Nespresso machine and a DVD player. Your rent a choice of DVDs from reception free of charge. The only negative was that the bathroom was a little dated for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was outstanding, really set us up for the day. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The location is the best thing about this hotel, just a few minutes from the old town square. I would definitely stay here again.

It's a great hotel. Good service. Good food. Good location, close to square but still quite location.

This place was an excellent find. A quiet location with easy access to Old Town, Prague Castle, & the shopping district. For a Euro hotel, the rooms was fairly spacious. The bed was delightfully comfortable. We'll be checking on the manufacturer. The free breakfast buffet was, as per usual, hands down better than any American fare. Definitely on the return list.

Overall, I was very impressed by the Maximilian. The hotel is very nicely presented and has unexpected little perks like the 'honesty bar', relaxing library area and 'business zone' where you can avail of the use of printers and computers. The location is decent - about 5 minutes walk from the old town square along the picture-postcard cobbled streets. I stayed in the superior deluxe (they apparently upgraded me from the plain old deluxe but I'm not sure that the difference is). The room had unusually high ceilings and very large windows and overall it looked very well - the lighting is a little dark but I think that fits in with the overall mood of the place. No issues with the shower/bath - water was always hot and had good pressure. The only issue I had during my entire stay was that I couldn't adjust the temperature of the room - the thermostat didn't seem to do anything when I twiddled it. But it wasn't that big a deal, I was able to open the window to cool things down the one night it was too warm! As other reviewers have noted already, the breakfast really is top class. Not only is there a generous and good quality buffet, you can order as much eggs/pancakes/waffles or whatever's cooking that day from the menu. It really is something that sets the hotel apart from the rest and they should continue to make sure it stays that way! Overall a very satisfied customer.

Good value for the price paid. Nice hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and next to everything you need to visit in Prague.

Excellent location in the old Jewish quarter handy for the old town and Charles bridge. Excellent value at 3 nights for the price of 2. Break fast was wonderful. Comfy king size bed. Shower, no bath.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and was in a great central location close to the sights we wanted to see. The best part was the staff - all very friendly and helpful. We'll stay here again when we return to Prague.

The Hotel Maximillian provided, at a very reasonable cost, a centrally -located hotel in Prague. Only steps from the Old Market Square and just a few blocks from shopping and the Metro, I couldn't have been happier. The room was large (by European standards), the bathroom immaculately clean, the breakfast better than most. It has enough modern touches to make you comfortable and is situated in the old town to make you happy. A great hotel!

Nice Hotel, Nice location. A 5 minute walk to old town square. Non-smoking rooms a bit smokey. Thats central and eastern europe I suppose. That

This hotel was exceptional. I can not speak more highly of the quality of the service and the attentiveness to small details. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Prague!

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our eastern europe vacation. Excellent rooms and staff. They have made this place quirky and fun, by including things like an honesty bar, and they will even give you a pet goldfish during your stay! We left super early in the morning and they packed us to go breakfasts. Great breakfast and location too. Stay here.

The location was excellent. Quick walk to the square and Charles Bridge. Neighborhood is upscale with many restaurants within a stones throw. Hotel itself was top notch. Service was five stars and rooms were clean, well equiped, and classy. Great experience

I have lived in europe for several years and when I decided to come back for a visit I added Hotel Maximilian to the itinerary, in short, it was FANTASTIC. The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were on par with a five star hotel despite the size, the amenities were top notch, and the breakfast was outstanding!! Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Maximillan was a gem! Located just a few blocks away from the town center, it is away from the main tourist fray and nearby great restaurants. Front desk and all service was friendly and helpful, with exception of the receptionists in spa. Room was clean and very comfortable, including the bed and Nespresso maker. Breakfast included and delicious. Highly recommend staying here!

Our stay here was made by a very warm and helpful staff, as well as a great location. The breakfast buffet was great. We would definitely come back!

Maximilian is nice enough. The lobby does a good job of conveying boutique hotel status. Walk up the stairs, more of the same. When you get to the cramped elevator, you start to wonder. When you step off the elevator you're greeted by dark, poorly finished hallways with low ceilings. Our room had a view to the courtyard. It was nice enough, but it is obviously an old building that had some superficial changes made in order to make the pictures look nice; there was dirty and missing grout in the bathroom, there was very low water flow from the showers, the doors look like they belong in a dormitory. The carpet is older, and the poor interior finish from hall creeps into the room--the access panels for the A/C were poorly installed, paint didn't go all the way to the ceiling, etc. The bed was comfortable, the sheets clean, and they brought us a goldfish to keep us company. The breakfast buffet was also good (not great). In all, I think the hotel is over-rated. It deserves to be a 3.5 star property. Everything is okay, just not great. The location is a different story--it's located in the heart of the Jewish district, which is a bit quieter than other parts of the this tourist-saturated town, and is extremely close to every site you might want to see. Nothing is more than a 15 minute walk.

We had a terrific experience from the moment we walked in when we were greeted with a smile until the moment we left. This is a very nice stylish hotel with welcoming public rooms, attentive service, and a great location. The hotel is very well located, since it is a pleasant five-minute walk to the center of everything, yet it is quiet and lovely. Breakfast, which was included in our rate, was delicious. There were a wide-range of choices and the breakfast room is very pleasant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were attentive and helpful. The amenities were great. The breakfast was outstanding. Location close to sites of interest to tourists yet in a small neighborhood.

Stayed at the Max for 6 nights...quiet rooms within 4 blocks of Old Town Plaza with several top restaurants within a two block radius. Compliments to a great staff who arranged day trip, provided helpful information and airport transport arrangements. Excellent breakfast and nice amenities like the Wellness Spa.. Highly recommended.

The breakfast is amazing. Aside from the buffet there is also a menu the you may order from. It is made fresh for you. All included.

Hotel was great. Ultra modern, ultra stylish. Service impeccable. Ultimate test was when we found a bug in the bed. Told reception (this was late at night) They showed us pix of bedbugs online which showed it was not a bedbug but merely a common or garden bug which probably was on one of our shoes from outside. Despite this the bed was stripped and remade and the manager notified at home. Next day the room thoroughly cleaned. We felt that we were not nuisances and that our anxieties were really well addressed. The hotel was super in every respect.

Staff were really friendly and gave great advice on where to eat. The room was beside a lift, but it turned out to be very quiet. Nice linen, too. The room faced an inner courtyard, which was also blissfully quiet. Breakfast was really good. The hotel is nicely designed, e.g. the onyx wall at reception was memorable. I would go back any time mainly because the service was so good.

Hotel Maximillian lived up to its high ratings. The hotel is stylish, comfortable, clean and very conveniently located close to shopping and the main sights. The excellent buffet breakfast, offered in an attractive setting, is a further bonus. Perhaps the only negative comments are that the rooms are a tad small (but not uncomfortably so) and the annoying need to re-validate password and ID every time you want to use the free wireless Internet. But these are very minor issues and hardy detract from a very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Excellent location. Walking distance to tourist attractions and restaurants. If you are finicky about wanting a varied choice of breakfast options everyday you may be disappointed. The staff is most helpful. I had left my blackberry at one of the restaurants after dinner so reception sent one of their staff the next day to see if they could get it. It was lost but they tried. I would recommend this hotel.

Very noisy throughout the night. Hard to sleep. Drinkers from all night bar two doors away and deliveries, trash and maintenance activities start before the sun comes. This is a problem but not unusual in Europe.

I cant reccomend this hotel enough, it was brilliant, fantastic position, only minutes walk from the astronomical clock and the old town square. The amenities were great, very clean, very luxurious, free wifi that was exceptionally fast, a lovely breakfast room, wonderful helpful staff, beautiful rooms with wonderful views in a peaceful square, wonderful!!!

My wife, one year old daughter, and I stayed at Hotel Maximilian for 4 nights and could not have been happier. The location is great. Only about a 5 min walk to the old town square. The location is quiet and convenient. All of the staff members were super friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating to our one year old daughter. The rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast was great. Highly recommended!

Very impressed with this hotel. Hotel is situated approx. 5-10 minutes walk from the Old Town square so an excellent base from which to explore Prague. Numerous bars and restaurants are within easy reach. Could not fault staff- very welcoming upon arrival and throughout stay. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of options available from cereal, pastries, fresh fruit to a full cooked breakfast. Room facilities excellent- ipad docking station, coffee machine and plasma TV. Would highly recommend.
