Hotel Astor - מיאמי ביץ'

Been to south marriot hotel south beach then we decided to do something lesser,we just loved astor instantly!so clean,smell fresh and hey dint know which we liked better cos we loveD everything about astor

Staff was friendly and courteous but there was no wifi in the room and the rooms were not cleaned properly. Not sure I will stay there again. There was much to be desired.

I stayed here one night and I had a early check in. Hotel was very accommodating . Room was big and clean and location was quiet. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Room Not clean . Lights were not working in the room. When was adressed nothing was done about it.

Friendly staff and very accommodating. The internet was out and they adjusted the room amount which was nice. Thought the location was great. The bar and music one night was also great.

Location was perfect, clean rooms , Ac made a lot of noise , but was nice and cold . Staff friendly , valet service was slow( very) but ok

Very cute hotel right in the center of south beach. Walking distance to beach and Lincoln rd. The hotel staff was very helpful-however they were actually employees of the chelse hotel next door, their sister hotel which I actually wih I would have stayed at. It was the same price but had a very nice patio with good music playing and a bar with hookahs and food available and it looked a lil more modern. But back to the Astor.. The hotel staff informed me they had some issues with staff at that location so the chelse employees were running it for now.the room I originally got looked at the back of a building - which I requested a switch to a room with a better view and they switched me with no problem and were very courteous in doing so. - my room was cute with a king bed hardwood floor a tiny flat screen, windows that opened and a completely remodeled bathroom. However if you plan on taking a hot shower let me warn you that will not be an option lol. I showered with only the hot water in full blast and it only got luck warm. They provide beach towels, bag check ins & airport shuttles.. I believe the chelse next door actually provides beach chairs though. - if your looking for a quiet cute affordable & clean get away destination this is a great option, I would recommend it and would have no problem staying again!!

They do not have hotel parking. Either use the Valet from the next door hotel that cost $32 a night or use the public lot across the street and have to pay a meter. The front door guy didn't show any signs of concern on what I was saying. His response was, "what you want me to do". So needless to say because of the holiday and the non-vacancy we stayed. But we stayed across the street as it was cheaper to pay the meter. Room was good and private, no noise but i did find a used towel under the bathroom sink and my room number was not even on the door, I had to guess..

I stayed at this hotel with a friend in March 2013. We wanted to stay near the beach and be close to most of the action in South Beach, and this hotel does deliver on that front. I also cannot complain about the room which was spacious with new wooden flooring (although very loud in hallways, it is comfortable and clean). HOWEVER, I would never ever ever return to this hotel because of the terrible service. If I pay over 250 a night, I expect amazing service, which was not the case here! Our phone in room clould not call downstairs and instead of apologizing when I had to go down in my pjs, the man at the front desk said "but I've been here the entire time...". Most of the staff speaks poor English. Their shuttle service to the airport MAY forget you, unless you remind the front desk person 20 times that you are leaving at a specific time, but don't hesitate to stay outside and see the shuttle arrive yourself. The employees do not speak among themselves and are poorly organized. Bad attitude from the staff in general. They also photocopy your ID and credit card information (and apparently keep it for up to a year??), which most hotels do not have to do. I was not pleased about that, especially when you get the impression that it's already a sketchy place, admin-wise. Stay at another hotel if you're in South Beach, unless you don't care about service!

Small boutique hotel. My son and his family and my wife and I each rented rooms for one night. The biggest problem, there was no hot water in either of our rooms for showers. In addition, my son had to change rooms because there was hair in the beds. When we left, they did offer us free breakfast as a result of our difficulties but we didn't have the time. The place could have been much better rated with some maintenance and tlc .

The location between the Miami Beach Convention Center and the beach made it very convenient and will defintely book for next year. The receptionist gave the very best service!!

The room was large, the living room a little sparsely furnished and could have used a little more artwork. The only truly irritating issute was the Resort Fee of $15/day at check-in. Even it the pool was open, which it wasn't, the word resort should never come into play at this hotel.

Our stay at the Hotel Astor was exceptional. It was as described in the listing. Very clean, very quiet, helpful staff, great location, reasonably priced. We would definitely stay there again.

I arrived at Hotel Astor for a one-night stay prior to leaving for a cruise. The hotel entrance was hidden behind a bunch of bushes which made if difficult to locate. Upon entry, the gentleman at the front desk was extremely courteous & helpful. When I arrived at the room, I immediately wanted to return to the desk for a refund. The room was extremely small and outdated. There was a window that faced a back alley & a small 20" TV mounted on the wall. Other than that there wasn't really much to it. It was clean but if I had to stay for more than one night I definitely would've opted for a different hotel.

no hot water, elevator out of order, air conditioner went broke, no wake up call,pure concierge response, valley parking way to expensive...

There were several issues with this hotel. The first is that they share a valet with the hotel next store so you have to leave your car practically in the middle of the street while you go inside and wait for them to call the valet, who may take quite some time to get to you. Second, the first room they put me in was in an outdoor hallway and was loud and insecure. The second room they put me in was dirty (hand prints on the inside of the window, streaks on the mirrors, rings on the table) There shower fixtures were broken and there were no towels in the room. I would NEVER stay here again.

I really like the location. It was close to the beach and many good restaurant. The staff were very nice. The only thing I did not like was the bar section they had a very bad attitude and not very friendly. Needs alot of improvement in that department.

The parking with the valet was a nightmare and well overpriced. Check in service was average over all even with 2 other groups ahead of us.

Quiet room within walking distance to the beach and clubs (5 minutes tops). The room came with free breakfast, free happy hour, and VIP passes to mansion, a trendy club. The club passes were great. We still paid a $30 cover charge, but got one free drink pass so it came to like a $15 cover charge, plus we did not have to wait on line to get into the club. The free breakfast was a bagel and coffee - that is it. If you want a second bagel or piece of fruit, you have to pay for it. The happy hour included one free drink, which was really more of a shot than anything else. Parking was $25 day. The room was clean and quiet.

Everything is great !!! I can not complain

This is a Boutique Hotel on the third street away from South Beach. The lobby is nice and the place is far enough out of the way so you are not overwhelmed by people or noise. We were given a room in the back by the stairs that was very make shift and I am sure not what the others are like. The room had a funky fogged door and a key for it instead of an electronic card. The room was part modern and part yucky when you analyzed it. The paint was peeled or poorly done in certain parts, the air conditioning in the bed area was not very strong, and the shower dripped the whole time. The bed was nice and big and it did have a mini bar area. If I was planning on staying in the room for other than sleeping I would have asked to have been moved. The place has no parking other than valet ($30 but typical South Beach) and no pool or other major ammenities. I am sure if you don't get the room we were given the place overall is fine, but not exciting and not family oriented.

the room was clean, same as the pic. but the bathroom was soooo disgusting. it looks great but when u use it u'll see how bad it is. the water in the bath tube never go away, NO HOT WATER, the towels are very old, u'll never be able to use them. but it is still nice for the price.

In general the hotel was good: great location and the rooms are really comfortables. The only comments that I have are: there isn't a fridge in the room, the hotel doesn't have a pool (you can use a really small one from a neighbour hotel) and the receptionist didn't aware us that the breakfast was included so we lost it.

Everything was great about this place except the water-pressure when I was trying to take a shower. Water would run fast and then the pressure would go so low that almost nothing would come out. The rooms were very clean. The Valet parking was $28/day but there is a parking across the street which is $1.75 per hour which can be used. The location is great, 2 blocks from ocean drive, 15 min walk from Lincoln drive, and many clubs around the area.

I was very happy with the hotel in general. Affordable pice,costumer service was great location was close to the main strip in south beach and close to the beach. Room was always clean. They have a great restaurant with a very affordable all inclusive meal deal.

Stayed at the Astor for 2 days and nights. It was my second time staying here except this time they were having issues with their hot water boiler which caused me to take cold showers my entire stay. I wasn't the only person effected with this problem. Besides that happening, my stay at the Astor was okay. Nothing to serious.

Enjoyed the hotel's proximity to the beach and boardwalk restaurants. Breakfast service was slow, didn't try dinner but affordable prices all around. Staff is courteous and helpful.

The stay was good,it could have been better,but i would stay again,Mr Juan was nice at the front desk.

Beautifully renovated hotel, very clean, two blocks from ocean drive one from all the shops.

Faulty install of air conditioning unit made noise all night long. Was kept awake by party goers slamming doors and yelling until early morning. Would not stay again

The location was perfect - once I parked the car I never used it because I could walk everywhere! It is a vintage hotel with vintage charm, but it could use some updates, mainly in the bathroom with old fixtures and pipes (e.g. the hot water in the tub turned on randomly in the middle of the night, but the following day I had only luke-warm water with which to shower). The restaurant was not open for business, which was also a disappointment. A quaint place, the price was good, but not 4-star quality overall.

We were extremely disappointed with the Astor. There were so many quality problems: 1) The key machine was broken. So everyone had to ask a clerk to open the door to the room and there were no virtually no security checks to get into any room. 2) There was no hot water; so, only freezing cold showers were available. 3) The telephone in the room did not work at all. We had to walk down to the front desk to speak to the hotel clerks. 4) The room was not cleaned when we returned at 4pm. We had to request that the room be cleaned. 5) I asked to speak to the manager and was told twice that he is unavailable during the weekend and will be back Monday, when we were checking out. Eventually, the manager apologized and gave us a refund for one of the nights. With high expectations as this hotel was listed at 3 1/2 stars, I would rate this as 2 star as it had few amenities, very high prices, and poor quality. Skip the Astor.

We had booked a room with two double beds, being a family of two adults and two kids. However, when we arrived we were told that no such room was available. The receptionist agreed to let us have a 'suite' with one double bed and a sofa bed for the kids. This was fine but not ideal, as the sofa bed wasn't really big enough for two people. We also had to put up with the bathroom water pipes whining every five minutes. I found no information about wifi use in the hotel so enquired at reception. I was given a password but it didn't work for any of the networks in our room. It turned out that we could only use our wifi while in the lobby. The reason given by a second receptionist was that they were having problems with the routers. The location of the hotel is in a really seedy part of Washington Avenue. When my kids and I went for an early evening walk along this road we passed numerous youths shouting out expletives, sex shops, which my youngest son tried to enter because he saw some DVDs and thought he might be able to buy aThomas the Tankengine one. Cars pulled up shouting out at female passers by - all in all, it was no place to be with your kids. We hardly slept at night because of all the party goers passing by at 3 and 4 in the morning. It left a really disappointing feeling about Miami for my wife and I, which was a shame because we'd really been looking forward to going. I'd also like to warn other travellers NOT to order any seafood platters which are recommended to you at nearby restaurants in Oceans Drive. We were stung for $150 for one platter! However, this does not reflect in any way upon the hotel's restaurant, in which we had really good food and service at a reasonable price.

Front desk staff, although limited, we're very friendly and very helpful. Regardless, would not select this hotel to stay at again.
