Overall a very comfortable clean room.

Hotel is dated and in need of maintenance. Check-in went extremely slow as I was kept waiting 10 minutes, with another person behind me, while some sort of credit card problem was being handled for the person checking in.

I enjoyed my stay there. I wasn't satisfied that when I arrived on May 16, 2013 the elevator was broken and I had to walk up with my luggage. I was told the elevator would be work the next morning and it was. It also would nice to a bench to sit outside on.

The Best Western in Carbondale is in a good location for those driving to SIU. The hotel is about what you'd expect at this price level. the staff was nice and it's a no frills hotel. Good for a tired commuter.

Everything is great, from the staff to the rooms to the breakfast to the treadmill. My only complaint is the pillows --- no options other than a really firm pillow.

Our stay was very comfy and the halls were fairly quiet. Especially liked the staff. They were very friendly and professional and seemed to really care about us.The breakfast was good and plentiful and at one point when breakfast was near the last few minutes one of the staff asked me if I needed more from the buffet,and how the meal was. Was not rushed at all.

Great, sadly for two days in morning there was a STRONG odor of dog feces coming from the room down the hall from us, which was pleasing as we were having breakfast. My teenage sons and I were in town to attend to visit the college. We stepped out for dinner, and walked it. Which is about 1/4 of a mile walking. We were stopped by the police and questioned where were going. And were we okay? We looked at the officer as if he was really asking this. I really wanted to ask - what doesn't anyone walk out here? Or is it cause we are 3l Latinos? Sadly for him when he realized hey these 3 see right thru my ignorance, he drove off and did not give me a chance to ask him was there a reason he decided to question us. Speaks poorly about community and police system there.

Very unhappy to find that the pool would be closed during our stay seeing that was the reason we chose that hotel.

The lobby and hotel room was wonderful! It is too bad I was only staying for one night - I would have loved to stay longer!

Nice hotel that makes a good effort to stay maintained. While the condition of the hotel is not "brand new" perfect, it is quite clear that the management is keeping up with maintenance to keep the hotel presentable. My room was very clean and comfortable. The internet was very fast. Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful, and seemed genuinely concerned about the quality of my stay. Will certainly stay here again!

Terrific, with the exception of a middle aged lady who was a room maid with an Indian or Pakistani origin but had a bad attitude about the guests. She needs to be reminded that she may not like what a customer does, but that we are ALWAYS the customer. She actually reprimanded me for not leaving my room until after 1pm on Sunday for her to make it up. I was on a business trip so I rested on Sunday. Her work was good otherwise. Rate was great and the place was clean and in great shape.

Overall a good place to stay and a welcome sight after driving all day in the remnants of a hurricane! The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and I really liked having the microwave and refrigerator for the snacks we had brought along. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and neat. Only had a slight problem with the check out when the clerk tried to charge me for the room again! Took a few minutes to try to communicate that I had already paid online. Otherwise everything was good and I will stay there again on my next trip.

With temps in the 90 to 100s Wish air would have been turned on. Arrived at 2 am had to get up at 6 am and leave by 7:30 room was just starting to cool down.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. The room was very clean. We were only in town for one night but we were very satisfied with our stay. It was in close proximity to the University and there were many restaurants in walking distance to choose from. The breakfast provided exceeded expectations. All this at a very reasonable rate.

Hotel was nice, clean, & comfortable. Good to have coffee & breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, but the first room we tried to get into the entry keycard didn't work the first or second time to our room on 2nd floor. Requested room on 1st floor and that key worked but the TV remote in this room did not work. We were too tired to watch TV anyway. Did tell the front desk person on our departure. The hotel staff was very pleasant. and accomodating.

Unfortunately, the elevator broke while we were there. There was a kids birthday party and the kids ran around the second floor a lot - unsupervised. The hotel staff was very nice. The room was very comfortable.

It was much cleaner than my last stay 3 years ago so I was very optimistic. This hotel is NOT baby friendly. I knew ahead of time that there would be no crib so we had to bring our own. Upon checking in, the fridge in our room didn't work (for baby's milk) and we had to wait about 30 minutes for them to bring us the keys to a new room, making us late for where we needed to be. The new room had a broken but functional door handle and was missing a light bulb in one of the lamps. It was clean with the exception of a huge glob of god knows what on the snooze button of the clock. Breakfast the next morning was also a disaster, they ran out of coffee several times and had no hot food left at 9am, making us run late for church. There was not enough seating for guests which was not helped by the fact that there seemed to be a company meeting but not eating in the only dining area on the second day. And of course there was no highchair so I had to feed our 6 month old cold (no microwave) cereal in her car seat (messy). The indoor pool was also a disappointment as it was way to cold to swim in and our room key would not open the door. The staff was unfriendly and apparently poorly trained to address our concerns. One girl even told us there was no other vending machines (not true) in the hotel and simply said "Oh" when we told her the lobby one was out of water. We will be looking for a different hotel for our next stay in Carbondale.

I have clients in Southern Illinois. I found the Saluki Inn perfect for my needs. The location is convenient. Not only to local cities such as Marion, Carterville, Carbondale, and Murphysboro, but to restaurants. After a hard day, I come back to a clean comfortable room. I can walk or drive to a variety for restaurants. The staff is very friendly. I especially appreciate Trey, who seems to be very bright and anticipates my needs. It has a good, simple breakfast, that lets me get out quick in the morning. At the end of the day, I know I will be rested and refreshed for the next day. I have been here multple times and will do more in the future.

Hotel was fine overall. Breakfast was a little weak, but room was clean. Not walkable to campus, but did have things around like restaurants, walmart, and a mall near enough to walk.

Hotel was nice. Bed was very comfortable. Clean!

Auf unserer Tour durch den Mittleren Westen (8 Nächte in 4 Hotels) war dies das am wenigsten zu empfehlende Hotel: Sehr hellhörig (dünne Decken und Wände), schlecht geschultes Personal, liebloses Frühstück, schlechtestes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wie hier unterm Strich eine 4,1 als Bewertung herauskommen kann, erscheint schleierhaft.
