Cheap off season. Good bang for the buck

Very impressed with newly refurbished carpet, flooring and decor...off the main casino area but found that to be a plus...on a creek,

Overall it was OK. Price was good but would be nice to have better and closer eating locations.

Love the creek just feet away! Free pizza and drinks, great machine payouts. Comfortable beds. Updated bathrooms. Breakfast. Great rate. We will definitely be back!

When we checked in & asked about trail maps for 4 wheelers you did not have any. The map we received with permits was for the wrong area. Candy went out of her way & called our room to let us know where we could find a map of the area.All of employees were very pleasant. We have stayed there before and would stay there again, recomend to anyone.The rooms very clean & beds comfortable to sleep in.

Overall, very good. Bathroom was a bit small, but the shower was very good. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good.

My husband and I spent the night here before our hiking/camping adventure. We wanted clean and comfortable and that's what we got! Our room was small - one queen bed and a table and chairs, but perfect for what we needed. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and food was nearby! We ate pizza from the pizzeria in the casino connected to the hotel and it was cheap and good. The continental breakfast was awesome! We were up at 6am to head out to hike so we were the first ones to breakfast. They had a waffle machine, homemade cinnamon and caramel rolls, cereal, toast, oatmeal, fruit, milk, and juice. We didn't use it but there was a nice pool and small casino area. There's also a large balcony overlooking a stream that we enjoyed sitting on while waiting for our food. Great stay!

The pool and hot tub were fantastic! And the casino was great too, we didnt have to go to far to try our luck!

I was disappointed in the "creekside" room....the window was cloudy and the creek was not visible. The room was very small and the deck was not very handy to go out onto. It was rainy and the only place to enjoy the gazebo type space reeked of cig.smoke. It was not the experience I had imagined it to be from the pictures, ect on the internet. The service in the casino area was very good and the breakfast was good and area kept clean.

I was very surprised that the Super 8 was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Location to Deadwood was about 1/2 a mile. But the trolley stops right in front of the Motel and costs $1.00 Perfect stay. Will recommend it to everyone.

This nite in Deadwood was for my fathers 71st B-day.We reserved here because they had the "TROLLY",and my folks wouldnt have to worry about driving.Well they offered everything they wanted rite at the hotel.They played rite at the hotel casino.Won $300.00,and had a free pizza for dinner.Really enjoyed the stay.Yes,we would recomend it.

We stayed at the Deadwood Super 8 for four nights while visiting the Black Hills area. From the moment we checked in, the staff were very friendly and courteous and more than willing to accommodate our needs. Very casual atmosphere in the gaming area with staff right there to bring you beverages or food. Lovely deck facing the flowing creek added a nice touch to a relaxing stay.

I was pleased w/the cleanliness of the room. I think it should be more than a one star motel also. Would stay there again.

Rooms are small but clean. Did not like having to walk right next to pool to get to casino and breakfast-would have enjoyed a swim but didn't what to be gawked at by all.

For a one star hotel, it was great! For the bargain hunter! Friendly staff, too! Should have a higher rating!

We where very satisfied with the 4 night stay we had at the super 8. The staff where extremely courteous and friendly and offered to help in any way they could when or if needed. The 24 hour casino, coninental breakfast and other enemities where awesome. We like the location because it is quiet but not far from downtown and the shuttle bus takes care of the short distance one has to travel to get back and forth.We have stayed here 3 times and it will be our selection again if we get the chance to return. Highly recommended to all. Thank You for an enjoyable stay.

All staff, including housekeeping, were very friendly and accomodating. Our room was very clean and there was no smell of cigerette smoke in our "no smoking" room, nor was there any "floor freshner" used to cover an old carpet smell - which can be worse than smoke for asthmatics like myself. The free Contenential breakfast was very good and well serviced with waffles, plenty of fresh rolls and yougart. The only feature we found a bit "uncomfortable" was the extremely firm mattress on our bed. If we did return to Deadwood, we probably would stay there again but bring a comforter or something to soften the mattress.

we were greeted like old friends on arrival. The room and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast room, though a bit small, was clean and well stocked and the staff very helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay.

This is not a review of the wonderful Super 8 that we stayed at in Deadwood, but rather a review of the filthy, dirty, less than courteous Super 8 that we stayed at the following evening. We were greeted by urine on the toildet, hair in the bathtub and ashes on the dresser. The room looked as though it had not been cleaned at all. The person on duty said she was sorry and would "take car of the issue" while we were out. We came back and found on ly 2 hairs left in the bathtub, the ashes still in place on the dresser, but luckily the toilet had been cleaned. Upon check out, the were willing to give us $5.00 off of our room price!!!! FIVE DOLLARS! Then to add insult to injury, the check out ticket that I requested a copy of stated that "the room was slightly dirty and if we expected any compensation, offer them $5.00". I will NEVER recommend the Super 8 in Keystone!!! But will stay at the Super 8 in Deadwood whenever we travel there (which is often).

We had a great time in Deadwood & this particular hotel sealed the deal! We stayed in the Presidential Suite which overlooked the pool......the room was very clean and the staff was awesome. We loved the Pizzeria too!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend stayin at the Super 8 in Deadwood.

The Super 8 in Deadwood is a very nice place to stay. The were very flexible with me when I ran into a little car trouble and had to stay an extra night while it got fixed. The in-house pizza parlor was good and the service was great. The size of my room could have been bigger but It is okay if you are staying one or two nights. Overall.... I would recommend/stay there again.

Receptionist was exceptional the staff in the casino were also fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean. We just miss the glass mugs \7 glasses for our use in the room. But all hotels are giving out the paper cups & plastic glasses now and we do understand why.

Great place--HOWEVER, I would probably NEVER stay again as they put an unauthorized charge on my credit card for a blanket. I called as I did NOT take a blanket. They told me to call back in two days to talk to a Supervisor.

Great location on the end of town near Lead, right on a stream--the only hitch was they gave us a smoking room, which smelled the way my ashtrays used to. No problem to move, though.

Me and some friends went down there for a girls weekend. I will have to say the room we stayed in was way more than I expected for the price. It was clean and had a very nice view. I will be staying at the hotel for any future travels I do.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Check-in smooth. Rooms are very clean but small. Had a suite that was no larger than a regular room.

As soon as we set foot in the Super 8 Deadwood we were greeted with an incredibly friendly clerk. The room is clean and the view of the creek beautiful. Breakfast is very nice with juices, milk, and freshly made rolls. The pool is nice and just the right temp, but is in view of people on their way to the casino. But the hot tub is secluded and comfy. The pizzas in the casino were also very good and free if you spend an hour gambling in their casino. The location is a 20 minutes walk downhill to downtown Deadwood, but the trolley stops by once an hour at the hotel if you don't want to walk and it's only a buck a ride. All in all the Super 8 was a great value in a friendly town.

very quiet, enjoyableand comfortable

Found it both annoying and inconvenient that the hotel setup forced you to walk through the pool area (and the wet pool deck) to get to food services, casino and back patio. This was also somewhat disturbing when using the pool and spa, as people continually walked through in street clothese.

Overall the hotel was actually fine. What was a headache was the shower though. I suppose for someone who is 5'5" or less it would be fine. For someone at 5'9" it would be annoying. For me, at 6'1", showering required a supreme act of gymnastics. Otherwise, the hotel was fine. It was clear that there was much smoking inside, but, like all the hotels in Deadwood, it was a casino so there was a smoky smell in the air.
