Copamarina Beach Resort - גואניקה

My wife and I loved the resort. The staff was friendly, the grounds well maintained. We used it as a home base to explore other parts of the island. It was nice coming back to a place where you could just relax, lie in a hammock and let the wind cool you down. The rooms are clean (i.e. no musty smells). The water pressure was a little low so if you like a hard shower, you might have to let it go. There is a boat to a small island go early and enjoy a small private, like almost nobody there in sections beach. If you get lost getting there you may need to call a few times to get the directions right. I think it is a cultural thing that directions are not that exact, as bad directions happened all over the island. Do NOT follow GPS directions or you may end up adding 2 hours to your journey :) Use the GPS to let you know you are going in the right direction only. Again, I highly recommend the resort and would go again.

The Copa is an off-the-path cultured island paradise. A beachfront deluxe puts only a little sand between you and the sparkling-clear water. Take a day trip to an island, snorkel or dive, or enjoy the day exploring. The amenities are complete with a wonderful, authentic restaurant, and people who fuss over your experience. The small town of Guanica has also what you need by way of supplies too. The people in this area are genuine, kind, and caring. A wonderful place you will never forget.

It was a unique vacation. Site and surrounding are beautiful. Food & staff service were excellent. We strongly recommend it.

Everything you need for a family getaway - great pool; nice beach; superb snorkling, kajaking, sailing.... good food; it's all here.... which is good - because there is not much else around. I actually wanted to give this a bad rating so others would not discover how *perfect* this place is. I hope they do not change a thing. If you are high maintenance, forget it - this is not the place for you - if you are looking for a quiet - low stress - relaxing and beautiful spot.... you won't do any better than this spot on the south coast.

Well trained staff that welcomed us during our entire stay. The setting is absolutely perfect, occupying a quiet stretch of beach. The trip to Gilligan's Island was fun. We explored the canals. A bit of a warning... on the outer rim of the island the current was strong, taking you away from the island. I am a strong swimmer but did not have fins, so swimming against the current was a challenge. My husband and I enjoyed a hike in the nearby dry forest and saw the centurion tree. We also walked a bit on a rugged beach area a couple miles down the road. The Copamarina property was well maintained with two large pools and plenty of lounge chairs. The food at the open air restaurant was delicious. We tried many of the options during our three-day stay. We highly recommend this jewel of a resrort!

This hotel is far away from everything and you don't feel like driving all the way to find bars or restaurants. Knowing that, the hotel put high prices on food and beverages...stop by a grocery store on your way to the hotel!

Wonderful find. The Copamarina is a great hotel for those looking to be outside the very busy, touristic San Juan area. Great for families. Beautiful landscape around the hotel, colorful bushes, plenty of palm trees and the all the rooms have view on the beach. Many swimming pools.The staff is courteous and really nice. Two restaurants and a pool bar. Plenty of food to choose from but nothing really extraordinary. On a good note, their mofongo with fish on the Las Palmas Cafe menu is very good and tasty! The con for families with very young children, the rooms only have showers and no bathtubs!

This is the second time we stayed at Copamarina and our stay again exceeded our expectations. The resort pools and hot tubs and rooms are clean, clean, clean! Wi fi quality is excellent. The park next to the beach allows plenty of room for walking/jogging in the morning right next to the sea. I felt safe, as the resort is off the beaten path. There is a store close by to pick up any food and a fridge in the room which is nice. The air conditioners in the room are of good quality and quiet. The staff is courteous and spa treatments are great. This is a great get away.

Relaxing stay, as always at Copamarina. Entire staff cheerful and helpful. Greatly disappointed that the Alexandra Restaurant was closed during the week; Copamarina should make that clear in its advertising and on its website. But the cafe has greatly improved its menu since our last visit two years ago, with several delicious Puerto Rican specialties.

Copamarina is a lovely property located in the dry forest near the depressed town of Guanica.The hotel itself was reasonably priced and well-maintained. Dining options are few and a car is an absolute necessity. The on-site Las Palmas restaurant had tasy food and was fairly priced, although the menu items did not change during our 5 night stay.Alexandr's is the fine dining place on-site, but it is only open Friday and Saturday nights when there are sufficient guests to warrant the event. The hotel was quite empty while we were there last week, so we had great weather and no noise at all. The Hotels.com price was competitive, but did not allow for selecting a meal plan option. Since big eaters could easily consume more than the $15pp plan unlimited breakfast cost, I'd recommend that option on-site.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL DEFINETELY WILL GO BACK!! REALLY CLEAN, EXCELLENT SERVICE, CLASSY AND MOST OF ALL MY FAMILY LIKED IT TOO!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT COPAMARINA. TRAVEL FROM ALASKA AND WANTED A NICE RELAXING PLACE AND I FOUND IT♥♥

It was an amazing experience, the hotel was located in a very calm and relaxing area, very natural. The check in went very smooth and fast. We reserved a king size bed room and we got one right next to the one of the pools and jacuzzi areas. The restaurants were great and we were treated with a lot of attention and respect. The room was beautiful, it was huge and very comfortable. Overall the room, pools and the whole place was very clean and pleasant. Beautiful place. I recommend this hotel for any kind of visit, it is definitely one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Thanks to everyone down at Copamarina, great job.

The hotel was excellent. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Great place to relax.

Hotel Copamarina has a good location for relaxation and water activities. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant's menu was delicious and portions were satisfying. The service was excellent every time. There are not that many restaurants close by. We took a boat ride to Gilligans Island, about 10 minutes away from the hotel, and it was a very enjoyable way to spend the day on the water. The next day we rented one of their kayaks for two hours. You can go through keys where the water is crystal clear. The hotel also has an infinity pool, two jacuzzi, and another pool. Great fun for kids. I will recommend this hotel to couples that want to get away for a relaxed vacation and families with kids.

The hotel is nice but the service was not. I called the front desk about 7 times and I could not get somebody to answer the phone. The manager helped me and he made sure I enjoyed the rest of my stay after several inconvients with the service.

This hotel resort was great. The staff friendly and professional. The hotel was set up perfectly for all to enjoy. It is right on the beach with staff constantly working to make sure the beach and pool areas stay clean. It has two very nice restaurants and coffee in the room. The room is luxury all the way and the spa is fantastic. They have several pools including a kiddie pool for those families visiting with their toddlers. They also rent kayaks other water sport gear.

We loved the hotel. The beds are comfortable, the decor is nice and modern, our room had a very comfy sofabed. The BATHROOM was very clean and well maintained, we had a regular tub, it had good water pressure and a great heater. The hotel has a gorgeus VIEW of the ocean just feets away. Very nice POOLS with perfect temperature and ocean view and JACUZZI, all this is open 24HRS!! Its just closes 2hrs a day for cleaning. BREAKFAST BUFFET delicious! The RESTAURANT had great ambience and good prices, u could get anything from $8 quesadillas to $20 steak.

Really enjoyed the hotel - it was almost as if you were on another planet. The ocean was soft and gentle and the sunrise / sunset were spectacular. Very nice place to just sit and do nothing, which is what i did. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A wonderful relaxing stay. Beautiful, clean and delicious food. The availlability of going to Gilligan's Island is a definite treat.If it had live music in the evenings and a better beach would be perfect.

It was exactly what I was expecting of the facilities. The hotel beach is not for swimmers, but the have nice options. The public beach is walking distance and they have a boat that every hour takes you to a small island with paradisiac beaches for $7. The inhouse cafe is too expensive for what it serves. You can visit also La Parguera Bio Bay is a 35 min drive away. Service great.

We liked the CopaMarina Resort for its beautiful tropical and lush atmosphere. Liked the pools and being right on the beach. Loved walking out of our hotel room onto the grass and close to pools and beach. We got a nice room with the pool in front of us, so we can see our daughters swimming from our room. The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious and top notch! The service at breakfast was warm and inviting. The only thing I didn't like about our stay was that upon check in, the front desk staff wasn't friendly at all. The beauty of the resort didn't match the service upon check in. Also there were a lot of mosquitos around the resort. Location wise, its up a long winding road and when you get to the bottom, there aren't nearby things to do. Just highway and a burger king.

I think overall this was a comfortable place to stay. I did not like that the shower did not drain. Water up to our ankles in the shower. I asked it to be fixed, someone came to fix it, but still the water did not drain. We had 2 rooms and this was the case in both rooms. Lots of seaweed in the Carribean but still ok to swim and have fun. Great snorkeling on Gilligans Island which is a must see. Hotel staff did not tell us to bring water or food to Gilligans Island which I think they should have communicated to us. We had to go back to get more water and food.

Gentle caribbean waves with soothing effects and quiet nights under the stars for a moment to remember. Resort beach is great for suntanning but not swimming, however, public beach is within walking distance and it is well maintained and secured for everyone alike. A visit to Gilligan's Island is a must but be prepared and bring drinks/light food. Resort staff is very nice. Rest overcooked my steak (from med to a well done) but the port/mushroom glaze compensated. A/C units not too quiet and very old for a resort moving to be green. Overall, take your family or your friendly other for relaxing vacation.

This is a great place to relax. For those folks that keep coming back to the Copamarina, I feel that we should get a break on the rates.

This is a beautiful, clean place right on the beach. The staff was very friendly, although if you are set on biking or anything else it's good to try to contact them in advance (they didn't return my calls...). The one dinner we ate was great. It was about 40 mins from Ponce, so it's not the best base if you want to be close to other attractions or restaurants.

Beautiful Hotel, very relaxing and great service. Beautiful beach view. Excellent food at the Hotel's Restaurant. A wonderful place to relax!

It was the perfect tropical setting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was amazing. This was my first visit to this resort and I definitely want to go back. It was so peaceful! There are numerous things to do in the area, but you wouldn't want to leave the resort. Gilligan's Island is a must. At night you can just sit at a cabana, enjoy the stars, see and hear the waves crashing and of course smile when you hear the coqui singing.

Resort beach and public beach not ideal for swimming. It's more of a marina and lots of seaweed.

Excellent stay. If you go take the hike along the cliffs and spend a day at Gilligans island. Great for kids. Ours loved it.

We stayed in PR for 6 nights and spent 3 of those nights here, but we wish we would have spent more! It is a little bit of a trek from San Juan. Originally we considered going here the day that we arrived in San Juan, we were suppose to land at 11am, but after an hour delay on our originating flight, we got in at 11pm instead! Thrifty, our rental car company was closed for the evening. So, we were really glad that we choose to spend the 1st night in San Juan and then we picked up our rental car in the morning. We then took the slow route to the Copamarina, via hwy 1. It took us ~4 hrs to get there and we got "side tracked" a couple of times...but it was cool we got to see a lot of small towns and some great views of the countryside (we took the toll road on the way back, which was only about 2.5 hrs). The hotel is a little ways out of town, down a 1.5 lane road with lots of blind corners...really fun at night...like most places in Puerto Rico, their motto, "Do it Right," literally translates to "I do what I want." So, most on-coming traffic will most likely be partially if not completely in your lane...best to not get going too fast...unless you have fully embraced the Puerto Rican Motto, in which case, you will do what you want, too! Anywho, the hotel is great, right on the water. The beach is nice, but not great for swimming, but okay for wading...and that's okay, because there is a public beach right next door and you can take a pontoon boat direct from the hotel dock to Gilligan's Island, which is great for a swim, snorkel and a picnic...the beach is lined with palms and has a row of chaise lounges and a few canopied beds on the beach that are available to all guests free of charge. It's lovely to hang out at the beach and then take a dip in the pool with a blended drink and then repeat and relax! We had a garden view room, which in my experience often means a view of a parking lot...but that was not the case, we had a view of the lawns, pools and if we were

A 'Just What the Doctor Ordered' getaway. Rented a car and travel from San Juan to the resort was a piece of cake. Rooms and grounds were very clean and well kept. All hotel staff including the main desk, restaurant, dive center were friendly and helpful. Loved the nightly live music at the bar/restaurant. Enjoyed a kayak ride to Gilligan's island and checked out a couple of nice beaches near by. Plenty of room to be by yourself if you choose or could stay near other people or families with kids.

My husband and I had the greatest time at the Copamarina. The food was fantastic! I would highly recommend going all-inclusive. Every employee at the hotel; from the front desk and wait staff to maintenance and housekeeping were extremely friendly and welcoming. After a full day at the Copamarina, you felt as if you were among friends. My husband and I are planning our next trip there. Can't wait! You will love it!

It was a pleasant, energy renewal experience. We recomend the kayak adventure to Gilligan's Island and later a good rest on the ocean front view beds. The food and service exceed my expectations. Oo course, My PR does it better!!

I was looking for a great place to have a family vacation, and this resort met all my expectations. If you are looking for a getaway, this is the perfect place. I went with my husband and my three kids and we all have a blast. I can't wait to go back. It was great!

Here you can kick back and relax, the trip to Guilligans Island was very crowded due to it being Saturday and all of the locals were partaking in fun.Snuba Diving is awesome, everyone well trained and speak English. Great food!

We have been coming to this same place ever since we found it by accident walking along the beach 16 years ago. It is a completely relaxing place. Just what we need to get away from work-- still all the rooms have WiFi so we can do a bit of work if we want. The gardens are beautiful, the rooms large and simple, the swimming is perfect and over the years the food has gotten much better. There are no noisy jet skis-- only sailing and paddle boards and diving, and sleeping on lovely raised beds on the beach.

Beautiful grounds- lovely restaurant- and simple, clean room. Loved the two days we spent here.
