The staff really stand out here. The only recommendation is a business center.

Excellent in terms of customer service and quality of room and food. I would like to use this hotel much more frequently, but have very often found it to be too expensive.

Classic old hotel, great staff, well maintained.

I have stayed here many times and am so happy that the owners have not chosen to "update" the decor. This is a small, comfortable hotel with a friendly, helpful staff, nicely appointed rooms and very good food. Some of the standard rooms are a bit small by American standards, yet are not crowded. Excellent beds and linens. Ask for a room facing away from Lexington Ave. if you want to sleep-in.

Great location, central to the whole City. Room was a decent size for NYC, though heating system was too hot and did not shut off, also bed was soft and lumpy. For price in NYC it's worth it.

Easy place to stay...intimate lobby and personal service.Rooms were clean and just large enough.

If you're traveling for business, there are a couple of drawbacks...not a lot of plugs for recharging electronics a small desk space to work. The other cons were a round toilet, not elongated (some folks will understand that), no sundry shop to purchase waters, snacks, etc. On the upside...the staff is out of this world. They are super helpful and friendly...extremely attentive and willing to go the extra mile. When I'm back in the city with my family, I would definitely stay again. Other pluses, the location is close to subway, easy walk to many sites and convenient to food in the immediate neighborhood. The bed is extremely comfortable...great shower as well.

When in NYC, I usually stay at the big chains for business proximity, but wanted something less hectic for the family getaway. Great hotel. Service is great, and the room was very comfortable. all four of us slept very well. The most underrated part of the hotel is the restaurant in the lobby. Great little spot. The staff was very informative and had great suggestions. Would definitely stay here again!

Room was fine and lobby was good enough. The elevators could use a touch up but that is not so important. I do expect a $350 dollar room to have coffee in the lobby and access to a newspaper. I also think the TV was small and awkwardly placed placed in the room. The bar was nice but served $18 cocktails. The front desk helped with dinner reservations but picked a place 10 blocks away. Overall, location was what we needed but I have no reason to go back. The hotel did nothing to set itself apart from average.

Great hotel, friendly service at walking distace from most interesting Manhattan locations. Free Internet in lobby only, but that is OK. Rooms (and food!) well worth its price. Only inconveniece: in bath room no hooks or bars for towels which also meant they were changed every day - for an owner who says he cares about the invironment this should be considered! And no place to put the soap ... Otherwise great! Will recommend and come back ourselves!

Lovely hotel with all the right amenities.

No complaints about this hotel. Super convenient location for walking or taking the subways. We will stay here when we visit the city.

The hotel is great - nice rooms, very clean, good amount of space especially for the price, fine location. We've stayed in probably a dozen hotels in this general (greater Grand Central) area, but what really sets the Fitzpatrick Manhattan apart is the outstanding staff. Everyone from check in to the bellman to the concierge to management was outstanding. The weekend we were there, they even had a complimentary cooking with chocolate class for kids - it's those little extras that set this place apart.

Went here for wife's 40th. Was very happy. On top of the great service, we were surprised when a bottle f champagne was in our room when we can back from a day out. Very happy, good value.

If you like a central location, smaller hotels (as I do), and outstanding scones...this is your place. We stay in Manhattan several times a years. Noise during the night from either hotel guests in halls or trash pick up on street is generally an issue no matter where we stay. Not here. We will be back.

We stayed for 3 nights in February 2013 and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is less than 10 minute walk to the subway. The rooms are very nicely presented with tea & coffee. Wifi only available in the lobby. Food in the hotel restaurant was quite expensive, 22 euros for breakfast. The barmaid was rude and was telling all the patrons how she was a single mother living with her parents and that everyone should finish up their drinks as she had an hours drive home. Also when one of the patrons didn't give her enough of a tip she confronted them. Not what you would expect from such a nice hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Fitzpatrick Hotel, on business, turned leisure. We chose it because of its location to the NYC consulates. We were please with our stay, overall, but what truly stood out to us the most was the attentive service we received from the staff.

Nice and easy access. Staff is courteous and friendly. Close to Central Park and the 5th Ave.

Excellent staff. Room was large and very comfortable. Great location. Plan to stay there every month we come to visit children and new grandchild.

The age of the hotel was one of its best assets; the staff and décor were also a pleasant surprise. The staff was extremely helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. My wife and I will be staying here again on our next visit!

At an excellent mid-town location, the courteous,friendly and efficient staff makes a basic room and boutique-size hotel very accommodating for business travel.

The hotel is ideal if you want to shop, one block from Bloomingdales, and 5 mins from 5th at the Hollister and A&F end and also near Apple store. Hotel itself is a bit tired but the staff were very helpful. had a major problem with the room when an air con pipe split turning the room into a steam room, literally. When I went down to reception the General Manager immediately changed my room. upgraded to a suite, and the staff could not do more for me, very impressed.

Everything about the my stay was great. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, I couldn't have asked for a better stay. Oh, and I was also upgraded to a Jr. Suite free of charge! I will definitely be staying there again!!!

Everything was better than expected. Was delighted when I first saw the room and how elegant it looked - for a very reasonable price. No complaints!

It was our first stay at the Fitzpatrick and it is our new favourite hotel in NYC. Great location for shopping, sightseeing and going out but also close to subway stations. The hotel offered everything we wanted, a modern good size and clean room, very helpful and friendly staff and a nice bar / restaurant. The fact that the hotel isn't too big adds to the boutique hotel impression.

Although our room wasn't ready when we arrived, the staff was exceptional in making the wait comfortable. They offered us two drinks at the bar and extended our check-out time AND upgraded our room. All this was done without fuss and even a request from us. It's amazing how good service can turn an annoying circumstance into a completely pleasant experience. The only thing I would suggest is that this really nice hotel please upgrade their toilet paper as theirs was like sandpaper. I plan on dropping a note about it as well as detailing the otherwise wonderful experience. Word of advice: Bring a roll of your own :)

Thanks to Fitzpatrick our stay in NY was less pleasant than we though it would be. The only plus was very nice and helpful staff and bathroom. The carpets were dirty, the furniture was really old and full of scratches. Another annoying thing was small trash bags. Dear management, please buy bigger ones. Oh, another good thing is delicious main courses from in room dining menu. Seabuss, rosemary chicken, salmon were perfect. Although the steak was burnt((

the suite was lovely and the staff wonderful and friendly! The hallway on the 15 floor had a large bag of rubbish in the corner(not a pretty sight) and the movies for purchase in the master bedroom were not working ( there wasnt a dvd player either so family coudnt watch what we intended for our stay).Dissappointing.

My room was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in in New York City. The location of thf the tv was on a wall on the left side of the bed.....very awkard and uncomfortable to view the tv. On returning to the hotel one evening I went in to the restaurant/lounge hoping to have a drink and meal, but the temperature of that area was like a sauna. I requested a 8am wake up call, but didn't get a call until 8:50.

First time at Fitzpatrick, and I was pleased from beginning to end. Starting with a delightful check-in process, courteous, and welcoming, to the great room and bath--everything and more that expensive hotels offer, and an even more comfortable bed and linens than some 5-star hotels...I didn't want to get up in the morning. Convenient and charming bar and restaurant attached, although the service there in the morning for breakfast was slow and not very attentive. Great coffee, however. Will definitely return, and the price cannot be beaten.

This delightful hotel is centrally located and is run like a family, neighborhood business. While there, you are treated as family and made to feel welcome each time a staff member sees you. During hurricane Sandy the service, if possible, was even more personal. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a home away from home in NYC.

I was very impressed. I have worked on Wall St for 40 years, but never stayed overnight in the City (live in NJ). I was very surprised/happy with the price, the quality of the room/service and the quiet - particularly the quiet. I was afraid the sounds of the City would keep me up when I needed to arise very early the next day. I would recommend your hotel.

We booked a standard queen room and wound up in a 1 bedroom suite. The hotel was lovely, the amenities were really nice and the location was perfect. We had plans on both the upper east side and the upper west side and the proximity to 59th street made it so easy to get around. We'd definitely stay there again.

Great location, but a bit long in the tooth. The rooms were big and comfortable, but it was showing its age and could use some new duvets, carpets, wallpaper, etc. Comfortable bed and fairly quiet given the location

A Four star that should be a Five! Beautiful Hotel Suite, good food and drink, great room service. Proximity to Bloomingdales, Central Park, Apple Store, Park, Madison, 5th, 6th and 7th Avenues.

FINE HOTEL. FRIENDLY, ACCOMMODATING STAFF. CALM OASIS IN THE CENTER OF MANHATTAN. NEAR ALL MAJOR MEDICAL CENTERS, AND RESTAURANTS. I WILL STAY HERE AGAIN.

Really enjoyed the holiday - the hotel was nice but needed a bit of a facelift as it was quite dated and a bit run down. Staff were very nice and helpful.
