It was definitely the place to stay if going to universal Studios. I would without a doubt stay again. Well worth it.

Was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The beds were good and we were satisfied with our stay. We travel a lot and we'd be happy to stay here again. There is a starbucks within 5-10min walk in the morning and a couple good food choices in the area.

Very pleasant stay. More amenities than expected.

I loved the queen beds, the cleanliness and the breakfast. Friendly desk staff and a good price too!

Very nice hotel.The room was clean and we were allowed to check into our room early. excellent location to visit Universal Studios. My only complaint was the quality of the included breakfast. There was no fruit and the toaster only had one slot that worked. The eggs were really bad. My advice is skip the breakfast and you still have a good value room for the price.

I am very selective where I take my family and where I rest my head at night. This is one of the many times I use this chain and found the stay comfortable and as expected. Price was modest and continental breakfast was more than a treat of selections.

This hotel was nice. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The only complaint I have is that the ac cycles so even if you put it on high, it will turn off and then not turn back on until the room is hot again. And the pillows are too hard.

PROS- Close to all sites, Free shuttle service, Clean rooms, Grounds around hotel very clean, Free breakfast to start your day, Nice pool, Great maid service, Door keys worked fantastic (been to many hotels where you are having to go down to the front desk to get them redone), WiFi included. CONS- The only con I have is with the free breakfast not great. The same everyday the eggs looked like they were processed not fresh.

Our stay for 5 nights was excellent because the hotel is less than 1 mile to Universal studio and 1.3 miles to Holyland (a place you must see). Their breakfast was very good.

The stay at this hotel was very nice. The breakfast was divine and it had a convient location so close to Universal.

It was fast and easy check in, rooms were nice and clean, great staff, good complementary breakfast! Overall awesome hotel. Would recommend it to anyone! And would definitely stay there again.

I worried that for the price, the hotel would be a dive. It turned out great! The rooms was clean and was perfect for our 2-night stay. The wi-fi was a plus. It would be great if they could provide some gluten-free breakfast choices -- everything was muffins/waffles, even the cereals were wheat based. This meant that my son with celiac disease could not eat anything from the buffet except the OJ. It would be easy to do -- offer fresh fruit and rice-based cereals such as Rice Chex. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall it was a great stay.

I loved the location of the hotel in retrospect to the orlando parks. It was also a nice hotel at an affordable price. I would use this hotel im future visits to orlando.

Decent place, clean, no problems. Nice free breakfast, but not fabulous. The location is very convenient to Universal (it's around the corner), but it is kind of a sketchy neighborhood with fast food places just outside with crowds of teenagers hanging out.

Charlotte and Mechelle were great, best trip ever!!!

Facility was very clean and staff is exceptional!!! Especially Lyn the Assistant Manager. The breakfast was good, especially the belgian waffles. I have stayed there several times over the past 6 months on business and the hotel is consistently good. Highly recommended...

Good welcome at reception on check in - staff generally very helpful and cheery. Room was very spacious but could have done with a thorough clean in 'out of sight' areas I.e., behind and under bed, sofa etc., (lots of fluff). Bathroom spacious and good shower, housekeeping good. Bed reasonably comfortable but awful pillows which I was told on check out were about to be replaced and not before time. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and re-stocked regularly - often needed to keep ahead of guests thinking it was acceptable to make up their packed lunches before leaving for the day! Good base for shopping and Universal and several eating places within walking distance for the evening. Would stay again.

Hotel was quiet, staff quite friendly. Bathroom area needs minor cosmetic repair, but would stay again.

It was excellent.

Quite satisfied with everything. Room was fine however not exactly what we had booked. Understandable due to one of the busiest weekends of the year. Free hot breakfast was a nice touch but skip the sausage patties and 'eggs.'

We felt that for the price, and being so close to Universal Studios it was the perfwct fit.

I used to stay at the Wingate 6 and 7 years ago on trips to Orlando. For a number of reasons I hadn't been back until this past trip in Jan 13. Hotels.com was running a 25% off special and I remember the hotel as being nice, reasonably quiet, and a step above some others, so I booked it. They still offered a reasonable breakfast with some fruit, juice, waffles, psuedo-eggs, sausage patties, muffins/toast, two choices of cereal, and coffee/tea. The indoor hot tub was functional and clean, but the fitness room equipment was mostly not working and badly needed upkeep. The room was large and clean with refrigerator and microwave, but the sink didn't have a stopper and had been recoated with the coating now peeling off. Heat/air conditioning unit was noisy, but did work. TV was a flat screen and was the bright spot in the room. The price was OK for the hotel, but I wouldn't jump to return unless the price were the same or less.

It was a little noisey in the hallways until about 11pm. We didn't complain, though. The location was excellent for us. We didn't have to deal with International Drive traffic. Nice and clean rooms. Good price. One thing I didn't like, my Son was having breakfast about 15 minutes before the buffet is supposed to close, and the staff began putting things away 10 minutes ahead of the stated closing time. That bugs me!!

Looking for a place close to Universal Studios, the reviews said "good value, great service" and that's exactly what we found. Clean, comfortable room, free wi-fi internet. All the staff working the front desk, especially Doris, were super helpful. Free breakfast was so-so and the coffee bad, but it there was plenty of it and it covered the bases. We would definitely stay here again and feel comfortable recommending it to others.

Good deal for the money. Clean rooms, very good service from a friendly staff, continental breakfast a plus. Stayed here a number of times; never had a bad experience.

Upon check-in I was 'greeted" by a very rude employee. She was abrupt,her tone of voice was very short and she seemed as if I was inconveniencing her. The room was nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The "hot breakfast' was NOT hot at all. The selection was limited and food was stale. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again based on the initial greeting and the fact I can find the same quality at a lower price elsewhere.

Our hotel stay was a very pleasant surprise! We had never stayed at a Wingate before and were very comfortable. Our room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. But seriously, the best part of the stay was the wonderful breakfast with everything from make your own waffles, to sausage and eggs, cereal, and everything you could want. We will definitely stay there again.

Close to major areas, breakfast included...nothing fancy, but good for the price.

The hotel needed some updating. The room was OK. The toilet ran. The light in the bathroom was missing a bulb the two days we were there. One of thr double beds had a stain on the sheet, I liked the location that we had to Universal. However at night the area had poor lighting and made my friend concerned for her safety.

The location is great if you are visiting Universal. The hotel is in good shape but could use a little pick me up. The towels in the bathroom must be replaced because they are very tattered.

As the name of the hotel mentions it is very close to Universal studios, less than 10 min. There is a convenient shuttle to the Studios and when I took a taxi back to the hotel , it costs me only $6. The distance to Disneyland is much . The room is very spacious , very clean and the complimentary breakfast was ample - waffles , toast , eggs etc. On the whole, my son and I enjoyed the hotel stay.

Great room. Beds a bit too springy for me but clean and nicely kept. Beakfast was a plus since it was included. I would stay again.
