It was cool .

I love this place.....always love going there I wish it was a little bit cheaper. only so I can go there more its my home away from home. and the girl friend loves it too.

nice room but smaller than most suites i've stayed in.

Detroit's economy what it is, it's easy to find good hotels at very reasonable prices. Still, I cheaped out and took the amazingly low price for a Saturday night at the Candlewood - a chain I've had no previous experience with. The decor was okay but nothing special (like I care) but the suite was amazing! Comfortable, homey,completely furnished and, above all, impeccably clean. I studied corners and crevices and couldn't find a speck anywhere. Absolutely fastidious housekeeping! And the towels! They didn't look like hotel towels. Didn't feel like it either. It was quiet throughout, even with a fairly full parking lot. The desk people were friendly, courteous, helpful, etc. I like Detroit, having lived there a while back. At these prices you might consider a vacation there. Lots to see and do, and their economy makes it very affordable.

I booked the room through hotels.com, when I arrived at the hotel there was no room key waiting for me. I tried to phone the front desk several times and no one would answer. I tried calling candlewood's number from the internet and spoke with someone who kept telling me they did not know how they could help me. We waited, locked out of the building for a half hour before finally reaching someone on the front desk line. The gentleman came to the door and answered it as though we were criminals, blocking our way from entering with a defensive stance. Finally, after reassuring him about our delema, we were asked to come in. It was another fifteen minutes of this man making phone calls to find our reservation that we had made. The room was clean and fine. The next day upon checking out. I went to the front desk and the lady there was sitting at a seperate desk 20 feet back from the desk where I was standing and was loudly stating my personal information, i.e. credit card number, for me to confirm for her. She did not ask me how my stay was or even say thank you.

The hotel staff was very personable. The night manager had a very diverse family and was a newly wed. He made us feel welcomed and at home during the registration process. He offered to assist us with any needs we might have after we got to our room. The room was very roomy and included a full kitchen and microwave. There is an icemaker in the refrigerator which saves trips to the ice machine. The only consideration is the lack of blackout curtins for the windows.

The room smelled like dead fish bed made you sleep in the center fisher was backed up mold in the bath room

Me and my family stayed this past weekend. The rooms were clean and the staff (especially Tanna) were extremely nice. We had an absolute ball. Will definitely stay here again.

We had read other reviews and were somewhat skeptical..afterall I'm a 5 star kinda gal! We were pleasantly surprised! We stayed on the third floor, it was super clean the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the room was immaculate and literally was stocked with everything including popcorn in the microwave!! The bathroom was decent, clean, fluffy towels. The bed was comfy and CLEAN! It was a super nice place to stay and we would stay at this place a 100 more times! The only small concern I had was that the lock on the door was damaged and basically useless but the was a working deadbolt so it was a non concern really! Seriously consider this place it's worth the money without a doubt!

nothing bad can be said for this place! It is a real value for money. It was well over our expectations. Room size was very good and the room well equiped with everything needed. People were very friendly! just perfect for us.

Good value since you get a kitchenette. The hotel is definately outdated and old. Staff was pretty unhelpful and not very nice. Not bad for the price though.

Suite with refrigerator, stove, microwave etc. This is s pleasant bargain. Have stayed here more than once.

This is a fantastic place for the price. Great staff, very nice rooms with kitchenette, free WiFi, nice gym, barbeque outside, etc. The place was very clean and very quite. The only improvement would be is if they get flat screen TV's. I highly recommend this place!

I love the Candlewood Suites. It is very clean. The staff is very friendly.

Rooms were kind of dingy, especially the carpeting. Our "No Smoking" room reeked of cigarette smoke.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable.The only downfall was having someone walk over my head all night, the ceilings are very thin. I would stay again but will ask for a room on an upper floor.
